We are out of town and we loved this hike. We were a little confused finding the entrance and it took us probably 20 minutes to do so. Our GPS took us to the left side of the sports field then directed us to drive through the track. We eventually found our way around side streets to get to the right side. Park by the gates of the track. There is a gate that says “no unauthorized vehicles beyond this point” and that is where you will enter the trail. Follow that up and keep left. We did the upper trail. I would consider it moderate. Very narrow. There were warnings of bob cats and rattle snakes but we did not encounter any. Overall beautiful views. We eventually came to a spot that looked like we could zip down to the lower trail on the way back and took that way. Much easier way to end our two mile stroll. Pictured is the upper trail then the second photo is the left side of the creek on the lower trail.

The upper trail is a bit harder but for the views entirely worth it. The lower trail is almost exclusively in shadow in the afternoon, which is good in summer but not so good in the winter. Bring snacks the 1.8mile round trip is deceptively longer than you might expect. You can also do the upper and lower as a loop, but finding the upper trail at the reservoir can be tricky since the private land owner decided he to be a grinch and prevent access from Hwy 140.

Great time! We were in town to visit Yosemite for fire fall. It was supposed to be cold and snowing all day so we found this trail close to our hotel on the Alltrails app. They have trails for all levels of hikers, from easy to a little more difficult. I personally like the lower trails that follow the stream.
