When you walk into this store, It seems like just a typical place, and at first, I thought it was decent: nice atmosphere, good music, nothing out of the ordinary. But then I began noticing cameras everywhere, I mean everywhere! Fine, I get it—security. But what unfolded next was simply absurd.
My son, like any normal young adult, was briefly playing with a small cushion—a fluffy, toy-like item—and after he was done, he casually tossed it back into the basket where it came from. What happened next was completely uncalled for. The owner of the store comes charging over, absolutely losing it. He starts yelling at my son, telling him to “respect” his store and scolding him as if he had destroyed the item, which he hadn’t. I stepped in, naturally, asking what on earth was happening, only for the owner to accuse my son of kicking this harmless, squishy toy. And even if something had gone wrong, I would’ve paid for it. But this wasn’t even about that—it was the overreaction to something utterly insignificant.
My son, being more mature than the store owner, apologized. The man claimed to “respect” my son for doing so, but by then, we were done with the whole experience. What this man didn’t realize is that his disgusting attitude cost him more than just that toy. My son, the one he berated, is heading to college to study geology—ironically, something this store specializes in. My other son is also in college and was interested in fossils and bones the store had. This man could’ve made a sale, but instead, he threw it all away because of his irrational behavior.
And let’s not forget—no cell phones allowed in the store? Are you kidding me? The level of paranoia and distrust toward customers is ridiculous. Without customers, you don’t have a business, and if you treat them like enemies, that’s exactly what they’ll become. The sheer lack of professionalism, the unhinged reactions, the yelling—it’s the worst kind of environment.
Needless to say, I would never return, nor would I recommend anyone else go here. We left the moment this happened, and what could have been an enjoyable part of our day turned into a disaster thanks to this man’s attitude. To the owner and his wife, who clearly don’t care whether anyone shops in their store: congratulations, you’ve succeeded in making your business...
Read moreNot really thrilled with this experience. Went in with my husband to check it out. Within 3-5 minutes I was great by a woman telling me I can’t be on my phone. I was not on my phone. I did have it in my hand as I’m wearing a dress and there was no service anyways. We wandered for a while and she never said anything about my phone again. As we were standing in line we notice a LARGE 45-50 in tv over the register with camera views everywhere. I made a comment to my husband about how it makes it out to feel like we’re all criminals and he agreed that’s not a front of house thing.
But while we’re in line this woman starts yelling at a young lady about having her phone out. Kicks her out of the store still yelling. And proceeds to go behind the counter and rudely speak about it with the cashier publicly.
What’s with the no phones? Are you worried about people price checking? Do I have a laser in my phone that can teleport items to my car for a fast get away? Are you scared of the 5g signal? We’re in 2025. Everyone has a cell phone. I don’t understand the logic behind this or the unprofessionalism that follows. I think as this store is catered to more 1 time customers as a gift and souvenir shop the owner/s can get away with it. But that doesn’t make it ethically right the way they’re...
Read moreI went into the store today with my three friends because one of them wanted to pick out some earrings for her friend back home in Beijing and this lady was really rude to my friend right off the bat. She pulled out her phone for a minute and the lady yells at her across the store even though there were other people in there on their phones and she proceeded to follow her around the store and every time she even touched her phone she’d scream at her and the third time she was horrible screaming and yelling then she kicked her out and I know it’s her store but this was excessive this woman was like 3 times my friends age and she could have pulled her aside and explained why no phones or pulled her aside and asked her to leave but she screamed at her embarrassing my friend and making her cry yet no one else on their phones or with them in hand got the same treatment. It just seemed rude and racially motivated targeting as she was somewhat nice or as nice as she could physically be to everyone else but my friend. So unprofessional and rude do not recommend going unless you are very...
