The Boy and The Herron was a great movie, but the theater ruined our experience with poor service and technical issues. My brother and I went to see this movie on 02/03/2024 and it was supposed to start at 12:50 pm. We were the only ones in the theater for the entire film. We sat in our seats at 12:50 pm and for 35 minutes we stared at a blank screen. I decided enough was enough and decided to go out and ask an employee to play the movie. The employee was friendly and apologized for the inconvenience, saying she would fix it right away. We waited another 10 minutes, and the movie finally started, without any trailers or ads thankfully. But to our dismay, the theater lights were still on, making it just a bit hard to see the screen 🤦🏻♂️ I had to leave the auditorium again and aso another employee if they could turn off the lights. The employee was also nice and said he would do it as soon as possible. After another 5 minutes, the lights were turned off, and we enjoyed the movie without anymore issues.Despite enjoying the movie, this experience makes me feel like I wasted my time and money. The theater staff were friendly, but they seemed inexperienced and unprepared. They failed to start the movie on time, and they forgot to turn off the lights until we reminded them twice. This was very distracting and unprofessional. No paying customer should have an experience like that at any movie theater especially for how much tickets and food costs. I would not recommend this theater to anyone who wants to enjoy a movie without any hassle. The only reason I’m not giving a one star is because of how friendly the employees were despite the mistakes. Sucks that this is the only...
Read moreA friend and I went to see Bad Boys, Ride or Die. It was an excellent movie. The theatre that we were in, the temperature was perfect! Most times, it's too cold or too hot in the theatre. We ordered popcorn and drinks. The popcorn was not hot and fresh. My friend brought it to the young man's attention, the person who sold the popcorn. She said it a few times, and he seemed not to understand. Finally, he took the popcorn back, dumped it out, and refilled the bucket with the same popcorn and added extra butter. We just looked at him, then at each other. We took our cups and left the counter. We went to the pop machine, and several flavors were out. When you pushed that drink, only a clear liquid came out. We had to choose from several different ones to find a pop that had flavor. We went into our theater to watch the movie. We had good seats, and the movie and sound were excellent. During the movie, I had to use the restroom. I chose the stall closest to the back since I use a walker now. I didn't check the tissue holder since I had to use it badly. To my dismay, there was no tissue in that stall. Generally, if someone else were in the restroom, I'd ask them if they could give me some tissue. No one else was in the restroom. I'm glad I brought my bag with me since I carry wipes. Other than that, it was a good night. I miss going...
Read moreAfter driving 35 minutes to reach the theater, since its luxury seating I had to pick my seat beforehand which I don't mind but, somehow I got the recliner with a rip in the seat. The audio sounded odd from the moment the trailers began but I assumed it would resolve itself when the actual film began, it did not. The Dolby Atmos literally sounded like something was broken. All of the dialogue sounded like it was coming from the ceiling rather than the center of the screen where those speakers should be located. It was terribly loud the entire time to the point that it was annoying. Speaking from experience as a former projectionist I enjoy a good loud movie but this was beyond reasonable. The audio quality actually sounded like a crossover was missing so that the voices themselves were booming as if they were coming out of a subwoofer. Sadly when I went to their website to report the problem it requires a code off of my ticket which apparently was located on the side the ticket-taker kept. Regardless if someone from Marcus reads this theater 8 needs a sound system evaluation immediately. The movie-going experience at this location was much better when it was a Wehrenberg theatre. I think I'm going to stick to AMC...
