I went to this dentist office for the $19.00 exam and x-ray looking for the cause of a major tooth pain I had for weeks. While I was waiting in the chair to see the doctor I heard the people behind me say "but he doesn't have insurance, ooh?!" in a negative tone like that was a problem for them. They found a lot of problems that needed to be fixed or "My teeth will fall out!!" (exact words used by 2 different office staff during 2 separate visits). Being suddenly shocked and scared of my teeth falling out, I agreed to the suggested treatment plan. Due to a lack of dental insurance, I was given the price of $4,059 (and that's with a discount). Payment due before they do any work. I asked if there's anything on the bill that could be dropped to lower price that is not absolutely necessary, but the answer was no everything is required for your treatment. (After I got home I realized they charged me full price for work that was done during the initial $19 exam.) Visit #1. Cleaning required before any work could be started $200 and the oral hygienist recommended a new fancy electric toothbrush, pharma grade toothpaste and mouth rinse (extra $200 on my bill). I required a root canal with a temp crown (~$3,000 3x national average) and a follow up visit for a permanent crown as well as 3 cavities to be filled ($644 paid on visit #2). The doctor that performed my root canal was very nice and good at what he did. I didn't feel a thing. Temp crown fitting wasn't bad. On visit #2 for permanent crown and cavities that doctor was ok. Crown fitting went fine but the cavities hurt more then the root canal did. While the doctor was drilling she noticed that 2 of the cavities were worse than expected and should have been root canals. She was the same doctor that performed my initial exam and planned out my treatment plan during visit #1. Cavities complete and super numbed mouth I had a 3rd visit scheduled for another $200 cleaning that I canceled due to a lack of funds. Again the phrase "You need this or your teeth will fall out" was used to try and coerce me into "treatment". I declined and canceled the appointment. Walked away with a $4,000.00 charge on my card for the work performed and my cavities still ache while I write this review weeks after. I don't think I would use this Dentist office again. Read moreWent to Aspen Dental because I knew I needed my teeth removed and to get dentures. I thought the first visit was alright but found out they did the mouth impressions so bad that when they made the immediate dentures I can't close my mouth with them in and they dig into my gums so bad I cry. On my first check up after having my teeth pulled they didn't really check the healing of my gums like they were supposed to. They focused on trying to grind down the horrible fitting immediate dentures that still dig into my gums and I still can't close my mouth with them in. I also noticed that they way over schedule for 1 dentist. When I was having my teeth pulled the dentist kept being interrupted and told "you have a patient waiting in 4", "you have a patient waiting in 5" and so on until he had every available little cubicle filled and he is the only dentist working there. Also beware as this Dental office will charge you money if they have to write you a prescription. All around I'm a week out from having my teeth pulled and I am still in massive pain even without wearing the immediate dentures that were made ill fitting (more like made for someone else).
Edit: After speaking with someone from the office on the phone the girl decided to be insulting saying "you can't speak or eat without teeth." They also refuse to refund for ill fitting dentures they made. They keep pushing to make adjustments and refuse to admit they made them wrong. They also won't show proof they used my bite mold to make the dentures as they said they got rid of the bite mold when they should at least have a digital scan of it. Save your money and go elsewhere.
Edit #2: After multiple times going back and them making adjustments to the ill fitting dentures and the dentures keeping me from closing my mouth, the had me come back to do an alveoplasty. The dentist dropped the drill when working on my bottom jaw, had an assistant wipe it down and then kept going. I now have an infection in my mouth that sent me to the Emergency Room 13-15 hours after the alveoplasty. Now I have to go through multiple Doctors appointments as my liver is possibly in danger of being damaged from the infection. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! YOUR LIFE IS MORE VALUABLE THAN TO LET THESE PEOPLE PUT YOUR HEALTH...
Read moreI gave them 3 chances and was VERY patient. In short, they don't respect patients time and they push unnecessary products/services on patients.
My major complaint is with scheduling. I wanted a cleaning. I scheduled. That day I got 5 calls from various representatives trying to confirm insurance etc. It was horribly disorganized and interruptive because I was in classes all day. People from Florida and other states were calling me. In the mix I missed a call that they had to reschedule because, "they overbooked". I rode my bike 30 minutes across town to find out they rescheduled. Ok that's my bad... so I rescheduled. Then the following weekend they called me and said that they needed to reschedule again. I was starting to get irritated but figured I'd give them a third appointment date. On my third date I got there at my scheduled time. I waited 30 minutes for x-rays then another hour in a chair waiting for someone to start my cleaning. Like always they said, "we are understaffed, sorry for the long wait." My appointment was at 11 and at 12:30 I was still waiting for service. They said that a surgery was taking place and that the dentist was caught up with unexpected surgeries? What? What is this place?iu
On top of that, they brought in a dental hygienist who was more like a saleswoman. Saying that the condition of my mouth had deteriorated so drastically that I need antibiotics and all these deep cleaning and prescription rinses etc. It just seemed fishy because I just went to another dentist 6 months ago and they said my teeth were in great health. Somethings really off here. I had to leave because I have to get back to work. Never got my cleaning and never saw a dentist in three tries and being there for an 1 1/2 hours waiting and waiting and waiting.
Hands down the worst dental experience I have ever had in three countries, two states, and 5 dentists. Horrible service. I will be getting a second opinion from a reputable an ethical dentist.
If you do go here, demand proper treatment and don't let them upsell you. Make sure they don't do anything that isn't covered by insurance and don't give them three chances like I did. What a wast of three of my work days....
