I'll start with decor and atmosphere. The mostly white tile walls combined with the overly-bright lighting was to glaring for me. Certain areas are stacked with large bags of uncut french-fry potatoes. To me they looked looked like those giant bags of generic dog-food. Considering how busy they are they should keep the food in the back and make more room for the customers. They get a lot of points for cleanliness. There was always an employee wiping down tables and counter-tops - the place shines. But there's one caveat: They serve peanuts and the floor is littered with peanut shells. Some might think this adds fun to the atmosphere. I couldn't stand it. If you like to eat someplace with a quiet sedate atmosphere than you should get your food to go. The place is a bee-hive. It has an open kitchen so you have to watch the staff frantically scurry around like worker ants - and there are a lot of employees. You can't accuse them of being under-staffed. I counted at least 20 employees - almost one for every customer. Combine that with the hyper activity of the customers and you a have feeding-frenzy atmosphere that I don't cafe for. But, on to the food. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. I didn't know that their cheeseburgers are double-patties. If you want a single patty burger you have to order the "Little" burger - which I thought was a kid's burger. I didn't know this because they don't point this out on the menu. (Not that I noticed.) Then there was a short wait for the food because it's cooked fresh. If you like to gorge on fries you can't complain about the portions here. To me it looked like enough fries for two or three people. However, if you're picky about your fries you might not like their style: a slightly thicker cut than the usual fast-food fries - with the skin still on them. I thought they were good but I wish restaurants would let customers salt their own fries. The cheeseburger. Decent size. Hot and juicy. Certainly a cut above most burger places but also nothing to rave about. "Good" sums it up. I might go back someday an try their hot-dog but this will not be my first choice for burgers. I'd go to Wendy's first. Good burger's and you can get chili...
Read moreI placed an order online at 5 Guys for pick up. I walked into the store and a young gentleman greeted me politely and I told him I was there for a pick up. He turned back to a group of about 4 guys that were on the grill and pick up area to let them know about my order. They all ignored the request and started making fun of him and mocking him. He told me to go to the pick up area and that he would meet me there to help me. When he got back there, he asked one of the guys if my order was ready. The 2nd guy told him to "f* off". There was a bag of food on at the pick up shelf so the first kid went to grab it and the 2nd guy pushed his hand away and told him to go up front. I told the 2nd guy that was unprofessional and he looked at me and said "I suggest you stop talking to me" So I asked for the manager. At this point the rude guy got completely out of hand and threatened to "f* me up" among other belligerent insults. I called the police. They were able to get me my money back. Police said manager denied the threats and said that employee just needed more training. The officer told me they deal with that individual on the streets all the time and I had the right to pursue this. I called 5 Guys corporate office, they were going to investigate and call me back. This situation is completely unacceptable.
I've since gotten a call from the store manager. She basically called me a liar and a racist. She was angry that I had posted my experience on social media and hung up on me.
I called corporate again and they are escalating the situation to a...
Read moreService from start to finish was terrible. The cashier was very unpleasant. No greeting, even though, we greeted her. But every patron that came in while we sat and ate received the most beautiful greetings and conversation. When we're not treated well in places, definitely, upon arrival we will leave immediately, but we were on a tight schedule. Their card payment didn't work well and she didn't tell my sis that she had to do it again...even though, she'd already completed the transaction. We just looked at one another in amazement. My sis apologized for the hold up, even though, it wasn't on her, and she doesn't acknowledge that my sis even spoke to her. She continues on her non work related conversation with staff. Where is the attitude coming from?!!! Our food was not good and we have regularly visited Five Guys, so we know how it should taste. I ended up getting sick from my food on the road, and my sister flat out didn't eat her burger after seeing me. We were not made to feel welcome & even upon getting our order and our exit, there was no salutation. However, other customers were warmly served. What exactly did we do, or could have done, to make employees deliver this level of customer service? We've never visited this location before and we didn't know the staff. Even if we did, we are customers and you, as the employee, should conduct yourself on a professional level. We've been going to Five Guys across many states and never have we ever had this happen. Maybe it was just this location. Won't...
