Middleton Place was a great experience, a step back in time, full of history, beautiful gardens, authentic cuisine, playful farm animals, and unique shopping. We were on a cruise which had a port stop in Charleston, SC and had been there many times, so we wanted to find a new adventure. I happened upon Pineapple Tour Group, saw that it was run by veterans, had a good reputation, and when I called and spoke with them, they were so accommodating that it put my mind at ease to book with them instead of a cruise ship excursion. Wayne, our driver was waiting for us at the tourism center, born in Charleston, he was full of information. We watched a video of Middleton Place on the way and we're there before we knew it. It was a lovely and memorable day, easily walkable, the she crab soup and pecan pie were delicious, the only thing that I was disappointed about was the kitchen was having vent hood issues and were unable to make their famous fried chicken, so I had a baked chicken breast with salad. We found some unique treasures in the garden shop and had plenty of time to browse in the other areas. On the way back our driver dropped us of near the port, which was very nice, all and all we had a wonderful day with the Pineapple...
Read moreWe met the owner of the company Benjamin who was very sweet and professional. He is such a good tour guide and even came in on his day off to give us a A tour.
This man knows everything about south carolina as he is a native with southern accent. We felt very safe and he was extremely professional.
We did the $100 tour where you take a drive to Middleton's Plantation in their clean van, lunch is included too. The only thing we would recommend is More time, as we left for the tour at 930 got to the Plantation at 10 and then had to leave again at 130. We actually ran across the property to be able to see most of the gardens which there was not enough time for. But if we would have skipped having lunch we would have had time for more garden. Overall the property is gorgeous. Make sure you stop by the animal area where you can see the most magnificent horses as well as water buffalo, sheeps, And chickens. 🌟...
Read moreMy wife and I did Pineapple’s half-day tour of Middleton Place. The tour included a bus ride from the Charleston Visitors’ Center to Middleton Place (about a half-hour ride), then some free time to explore the beautiful grounds, a guided tour of the Middleton house, lunch, and bus ride back to downtown Charleston. The bus is not big, which is a plus. There were only 8 of us on this particular tour.
Our bus driver Wayne was very friendly and knowledgeable about Charleston and Middleton Place, and he played an excellent video for us as we drove there. Lunch was a full, hot meal, with dessert, and very good.
All in all, it was a very nice tour and we would recommend it if you’re interested in seeing the beautiful Middleton Place property with its beautiful gardens, gorgeous old oaks covered in Spanish moss, etc. You’ll also learn about the history of this interesting...
