The food is decent, no disappointed there. The major disappointment was the service. I’ve been here four times now and only once did we have really great service. The other times were far from that. Several servers are often no where to be found. We came in for brunch hours, restaurant was empty other than two at the bar, and one large group and that was it. We asked for a table rather than a booth and the manager told me they were all taken and we had to take a booth. There were a total of 7 tables empty, all the booths were open. It made absolutely no sense. I attached a photo of the restaurant on the day they “didn’t have any tables available…..” Another time we sat near the bar and my wife ordered a drink. Our waitress asked to see ID, wife didn’t have it in her, no big deal. This server turns right around to the table beside us who sat at the same time, takes there drink order and doesn’t ID the man. My wife addressed the issue and the server made up so crazy excuse about how the man looked older. Eventually the manager came over and was out server and everything was great other than the rest of the wait staff glaring at us. In all, good is decent, but the service is really 50/50.

*this review is for the folks out there that actually have real good taste in food* Okay so I’m getting to the point that it’s time for me to start leaving reviews - because I’m really tired of going places with “good reviews” that I end up wasting money at. I guess if you’re touristy and don’t have quality taste you might like this place. The server was kind, so nothing against the people who gotta work for the man to pay rent. But as for the company, come on yall. The food sucks. The quality of food sucks. I ordered wild rice and there was like 5 pieces of actual wild rice.. the rest of the rice is normal ol white rice with some spices. The food is overpriced for the quality. There are a million tvs in every direction. I wish restaurants would actually invest in making the food worth the money. And I wish the general public had better taste buds so I could really trust reviews.

Me and my fiancé spent about 30 mins wondering around figuring out w what to eat on our weekend trip to Chattanooga when we came across Riverport grille. We were seated immediately and we got sat w Hunter who was nothing short of a dream, he was super attentive and kind. He took note of my crab/lobster allergy to let the kitchen know and he spoke in detail about the menu with us. Now as for the food I got the shrimp and grits it was delicious and my fiancé got the pan seared salmon and he too was v pleased with his choice (This was a recommendation from hunter), I just wanted to come in here and brag the staff all were so kind and the experience left us with smiles on our faces. We’ve already said we’d love to come back down to Chattanooga but if we did we are definitely stopping back into Riverport Grille!! Thank you to the staff for the great evening, we appreciate you all 🤍

I don’t even know where to begin—because this wasn’t just a dinner, it was a life experience—all thanks to MADISON, the server with the charisma of a Broadway star, the memory of an AI supercomputer, and the reflexes of a caffeinated ninja.

Let me set the scene: we walk into the River Port Grille in Downtown Chattanooga—it’s a restaurant , generic in every way… and then BOOM. Enter Madison. This woman doesn’t wait tables—she orchestrates them. I’m not even sure she walks. She glides. She floats. She beams knowledge directly into your soul about the menu, the local area, the seasonal wine pairings, and possibly the meaning of life. I blinked, and she’d already refilled our water, recommended an appetizer, cracked a joke, and solved the mystery of our friend’s food allergy like a culinary Sherlock Holmes.

Now listen. The food? It was… fine. Solid. Nothing to write sonnets about, except for the ahi tuna, which was surprisingly excellent—seared to that perfect pink in the middle, buttery texture, seasoned just right. If you go, get the ahi tuna. Trust me.

But honestly, I’d eat a cold can of beans here if Madison was the one serving it. She made us feel like celebrities on a press tour, with just enough sass and sparkle to keep things hilarious and heartfelt. Madison doesn’t just deliver plates. She delivers joy, wrapped in napkin folds and laced with menu recommendations that feel like prophetic visions. Someone please give this woman a raise, a trophy, and a reality show.

TL;DR: Come for the tuna, stay for Madison. She’s not just a server—she’s a legend in the making. If River Port Grille had ten Madisons, it would be a Michelin-starred mecca. Until then, five stars all...

Well....times are changing for this place.me and my fiancee found this place over a year ago and since then we have come to absolutely love it.we have been driving 45 minutes 2 to 3 times a week for over a year and spend 3 to 5 hours just hanging out at the bar and visiting with all the new people we meet and the awesome bar staff. We have been happy to spend over $100 every time we come because its been the best place in down town to hang out and enjoy our time.we have been hands down regulars and the biggest supporters amd promoters of this place, telling everyone we meet there and durring the week all of our friends that this place is the place to be. Sadly due to poor management decisions i hate to see the direction this place is going. Ryan at the bar has been the biggest reason this place has been so awesome. He has been absolutely the best to visit with and the most fun to watch do his thing.he has been with no doubt the best fastest most fun and inviting person for this establishment. The reason we couldn't wait for a hard work week to end hanging at our all time favorite place. Now thay have decided to just let him go.we have been there for almost everyone of his shifts for the past year and he has done nothing short of amazing for this place and you could see he loved it there. Now i hate to say it but the atmosphere is terrible and many of us regulars are now deeply saddened of the way it is going.just another bar and grill in downtown and the special home loving inviting atmosphere is gone.time to find a new favorite spot.good bye riverport, its sad to see you let poor management do this to such a...

So on Saturday 9/13 my husband was there for his birthday and was basically assaulted. I find it very weird that the owner/ management has responded to the other reviews but not the customer that their employee assaulted . The bartender straight up threw a drink in his face not only soaking him but the tn fans sitting beside him that also stated got soaked by thrown drink his review was not commented on either. My husband is very quiet and not the one to complain bc if I was there I promise it would have been fixed immediately bc I don’t let crap go. He didn’t even get an apology. Sorry business and management ! He complained one time in an establishment bc he ordered a wagyu steak and received a ribeye if u ever had wagyu u know the difference with taste and price the restaurant immediately fixed the issue and in a timely manner. So it’s Monday and this happened Saturday still no one has reached out and the girl that left a comment about Austin the bartender that threw the drink must know him bc you can ask multiple ppl at the bar that he appeared to be on something and going behind the other bartenders that served telling ppl the messed up their drink and it should have this or that trying to do what I’m not sure and ace was actually very attentive and the accusations of him being intoxicated was far from the truth just Austin trying to bring who he was fighting with down. So from a successful store manager myself you ma’am or sir have handled this very wrong and assault isn’t to be taken lightly. Then straight out ignoring the complaints are...
