Read moreSo, the first time we tried this place. And honestly, if today was anything to go by. It will be the last. The lady at front of house took the order, then explained what to do with the "marker". This was the best part of the whole experience.
The order. Wife had black and blue burger (medium rare) with fries. Me I had the burger republic (medium) with fries. And for an appetizer, we got the pepperoni cheese curds.
Now understand they advertise rated top 10 burgers on trip advisor.
First, the appetizer. Make a note... unless you're a family of fries. These are not shareable. They are small... real small. But on a good note. It came out promptly. And landed on the table well. Yes, I said landed. Why landed. Well, because it was pretty muched tossed onto the table. Oh, and whilst we had drinks. We had no silverware, knapkins, or condiments. And before we could ask. Our server had vanished.
Then the main. Well, let's get straight to the point. Again, pretty much thrown on the table. Some fries were lost. Not that this was a concern. Especially after eating some. Wow, salty! Enough salt on them to make the dead sea jealous. And just when my wife is about to ask for silverware, she is met with "before you ask, I know what your gonna ask for. And I'm getting it." On to the burgers. Mine was well done. Almost to the point of cremation. But they managed to get my wife's rare. He fries were not as salty but certainly enough for you to get another drink before dehydration set in. I ate the burger as did the wife. But based on the "temperament" of the server, we decided against sending it back to be corrected. Oh and of you like lettuce, boy, you're in for a treat because both burgers came with what seemed like half a head of...
Read moreStopped by Burger Republic after spotting an “award-winning burger” sign out front, and decided to give it a try. Overall, it’s a good, casual place for a bite if you’re in the area.
I ordered their award-winning “96” burger (minus the bacon). It was rich, flavorful, and definitely hearty, but a bit too heavy for my taste. Between the blue cheese and sautéed mushrooms, I found myself wishing for something acidic to balance it all out.
My vegetarian dining partner tried both their house-made veggie patty and an Impossible burger. I sampled the Impossible burger and thought it was pretty average compared to others I’ve had. Unfortunately it was underwhelming.
The tater tots on the other hand were a win. Crispy, hot, and a perfect side to the meal.
There’s a solid amount of variety on the menu, and I’d definitely come back to try more, especially some of the shakes. But if I’m being honest, I’ve personally had more satisfying burger experiences at places like Shake Shack or Five Guys.
As for the atmosphere, it’s laid-back and casual. You order at the counter, and there’s plenty of seating inside some outside. That said, a few indoor seating areas were blocked off during our visit due to leaks from the HVAC system (something I’d also read about in other reviews). There were buckets catching water and a couple “wet floor” signs near the bar, which didn’t ruin the experience but was definitely noticeable.
In short: Good food but not mind blowing, friendly enough service, and convenient location....
