Horrible customer service that includes lying about the provenance of a purse I purchased from them online. I called to tell them about my situation, which was that they marketed a purse as being made and designed in Paris, but when it came it looked like it was made in an H&M sweatshop in Tunisia (the label said Made in Tunisia on a flimsy looking tag), so much for ethics and sustainability… I was super cordial with the employee over the phone, and she relayed to me she understood my frustration, we ended the call by her telling me she would let the owner know and they would rectify the situation by getting in touch. After 5 days they never reached out to me. Guess I’m not important enough to speak to. At this point they have refused to take any accountability for making false claims on their site. Lying about the origin of an item is shady and absolutely an illegal business practice. Think twice about spending your hard earned cash at this fraudulent business.

Response to owner: As I expected you take absolutely zero accountability and issue no apology for YOUR mistake. Give you grace, that’s funny, you just wasted MY time and ruined a xmas present….in what world could you not see the item was poorly made and most definitely not made where you were told. It takes 2 seconds to look inside the purse and see you literally have something made in a sweatshop. Blind faith will not get you far in any business…furthermore, I literally had to argue with Garmentory to give me a refund because at first they refused, even though my claims were valid. I finally had to complain to the Better Business Bureau to get either one of you to pay attention to my claim. And yes, I expect you to take this seriously as I only have a short window to get my refund…talk about refusing to accept you were wrong….do better. The purse will be arriving...

Staff is super friendly and impeccably creatively dressed. If you ask, they will help you style an item and recommend different pieces if you are going to an event or in search of something to fill a specific need. The store’s curation is beautiful and very contemporary. There are lots of interesting, easily wearable pieces that my eye often doesn’t fall on right away because of how attractive the unusual/textural/sculptural stuff is. The result of the aesthetic mix inspires thinking differently about dressing and styling, even when I don’t pick anything up. Fair warning—some of the price tags are steep, but A) not all of them are that way, and B) higher cost per piece is often the nature of shopping for high quality pieces from small brands and emerging designers who do not have the scale and/or willingness to cut costs on sourcing materials, production processes, labor practices, craftsmanship, or thoughtful design. And you can always wait for a sale—there are very good deals on a lot of cool, niche, sometimes very high-end pieces. Nothing here comes from a 52-micro-season brand. Like its peer boutiques on Vine St (Continuum, TMBTITWI, Sloane), everything at Idlewild has careful thought and artistry behind it. Idlewild is one of my favorite small , Women - owned Contemporary boutiques in the OTR neighborhood of Cincinnati !! ❤️. The store director , Tessa Clark is a Project Runway 17 alum and her store is a reflection of her, her mom and cousin’s great taste and style ! It is a size inclusive store with a splurge worthy line , Pleats Please that can fit most between sizes 0-18 ! There’s also more affordable lines like Tessa’s own line Grind & Glaze , Kowtow , Mother Denim , Miin —to name a few . Ulla Johnson , MM6 Maison Margiela , Swedish brand Rodejber , Henrik Vibskov are also regularly stocked. To top it off , their customer service is unmatched and Tessa and her Team are always welcoming , helpful , and knowledgeable about the clothing and what works well for you . Also noteworthy ,the two co - owners have their work in the store - Julie Clark Pottery and Jessica Murray designs — offering ceramic earrings , totes , pouches , purses , puzzles , calendars — of their own designs. It’s truly a family affair !
