Edit as of 8/19/2020 I was contacted by the Vice President Martha to discuss our experience yesterday this evening. She was so unbelievably kind and listened to what happened, she provided a genuine apology for the way we were treated and ensured that this manager would be talked to in regards to this matter and proper customer service. I canât. Begging to tell you the difference in respect between the two encounters, thank you so much Martha for being so kind and understanding and providing more insight into why there were understandable changes made. Although there may be some time until I can walk into the Cheese Haus comfortably the kindness expressed today has certainly made me feel welcomed.
Alright, I was trying to give the owner a chance to respond to my message because I donât usually do this. So stay with me while I tell you what happened to me this morning.
Frankenmuth is celebrating 175 years and Frankenmuth Cheese Haus was having a sale with select things on sale for $1.75. We LOVE the cheese haus and go every time we are in Frankenmuth.
This morning my parents and I went to Frankenmuth early to take advantage of this deal because my brother had sent us a screenshot of their post stating everyoneâs favorite cheese spread was on sale limit 10 per CUSTOMER. When we got there we had chosen our cheese and cheese for my brother who was unable to go himself and the signage also stated the limit was 10 per GUEST both of which youâll see in the pictures attached. I paid for mine and moved out of the way for my father to make his purchase and the cashier asked if my parents were married to which I of course said yes and she apologized and said it was a limit per household. Because we had driven so far and all the signs said otherwise my mother had pointed this out and after a few minutes of us going back and forth she grabbed her manager.
Now this is the point where things got out of hand. The manager arrived with an attitude and very rudely also said it was per household (by law you are required to give the customer your posted sale) I offered to walk with the manager to show her that none of her signs show that it would be per household and that they need to update them because this is bound to happen all day because it has not been advertised. At this point the manager is getting more rude by the second, her mask is not being worn properly and she is not being socially distant. She took a LARGE step towards me now about a foot away from me as if to intimidate me! The MANAGER! I have never seen such blatant disregard for customer service. She then threatened to CALL 911 on us and tried to not allow us to make the second purchase âuntil I know what theyâre going to doâ. This was embarrassing as we werenât trying to do anything wrong just give them our business on a sale that they posted. What a ridiculous thing to be threatened to have the cops be called for CHEESE SPREAD.
If the manager had apologized for the inconvenience, verified it was indeed per household and thank us for bringing the incorrect signs to their attention like a respectful person this all could have been easily avoided. I am still so upset over the way we were treated and I will not be visiting the Cheese Haus for a long time if this is what they think is acceptable customer service.
Feel free to share this so...
Read moreMarch 2024 update (2nd trip; reduction in star rating) I don't know how you go from disappointing to doubly disappointing but here we are. I'm not picking on you Cheese Haus I just want you to be better. We went in again not expecting change, but change was presented for the worse. No change in the store, just the customer service experience. When checking out the clerk acted as if our small 3-4 items was a hassle to ring up, and basically acted as if they couldn't get rid of us soon enough. (we weren't being annoying or talkative to them they just had an over all bad attitude). Even if the items we bought do taste good (haven't tried them yet) I doubt we'll be back, bad customer service on top of not really being anything special doesn't really make the experience worth it...
(original review) Sadly the biggest disappointment in our trip... I was raised in Wisconsin, so to say I love cheese is an understatement. Now to be fair, I had high expectations (maybe too high) however, when your cheese store has an entire channel on tv dedicated to your cheese, is it really my fault to expect something special? Bottom line, Cheese Haus is basically Meijer that has a really nice cheese section (in my opinion). This does not mean it's a bad place to shop, but if you are expecting (as I was) places where you can taste cheese from all over, or a cheese bar where you can sample multiple cheeses, than you will be disappointed. I did buy two spreads (savory and sweet), because once I saw on the tv that they are made locally at the Cheese Haus I was sold. I have not tried them yet, but I hope they will be tasty. I just wish there was a bit more to the Cheese Haus than a place to buy cheese, and snacks. As I mentioned before, you can do...
Read moreIâve visited several times, but this time I noticed things I didnât before. This place gives off the impression that they make cheese in house, but most of the cheese isnât even made there. A lot of it is repackaged low quality crap from Walnut Creek, which is an âAmishâ factory in Ohio. I noticed they have a lot of their products throughout the store. You see this same product in stores everywhere. Nothing special or different about it. If I want that (which I absolutely donât), I can get it anywhere. There is also a lot of rebranded/labeled product in the shop as well, like jarred foods, for example. Again, you can get it anywhere with a different label on it. People really need to read labels and pay attention to this stuff. Youâre not getting anything unique, nor are you getting homemade quality products.
I have purchased items before, but never again. Itâs also worth noting how unfriendly the staff is. All of them. The entire staff just gives off an odd vibe, always have. I remember the last time I was there, the cashier barely said a word and acted like she was miserable, even after I tried to be friendly and make conversation.
What a joke. Itâs a shame that Frankenmuth has such a fake, gimmicky...
