This was my first and last visit to this theater. I splurged on BTX tickets for a premium experience and was very disappointed in the picture quality. I don't know what kind of projector they use, but it seemed like a 720p junker you find on Amazon for fifty bucks that had been scaled-up way too much to fit the screen. It had horrible chromatic aberration (color fringing) that made it very hard to enjoy the movie. I have never noticed that in any other theater. It was so bad that it almost looked like watching a 3D movie without the glasses, at least in the brighter pasta of the film. Besides that, the film grain was magnified to be very noticeable, it certainly did not look like 4/6/8K whatever the master was. I'm pretty sure I wasn't imagining a fair bit of vignetting either. Definitely not worth the $20 a ticket I paid. The movie we watched was F9, but I saw the CA in the ads, logo screens, and trailers before the feature started. I think the sound was good for 7.1, but I really thought they'd have Atmos/DTS-X and better placement of the center channel speakers, again, BTX comes with a high price tag. One other gripe it's that the soda mix was off - mostly carbonated water. There were about 10 total people in the theater for a big summer release... I don't know if that's because locals know the theater sucks and save their money and go to Aviation mall instead for the awesome seating, or if it's true that movies are a dead art form, especially coming out of Covid. I have a 4K TV and great sound at home, so I think I'll save my money and view my collection from there. I'm not sure Hollywood will be able to resist cramming almost all future releases full of SJW and CRT...
Read moreI paid for prime AMC tickets for the anticipated Dune 2 movie for the 3/5/24 8:30PM showing and was given a standard film experience. There was zero of the Prime AMC theater features just a fancy sign outside of the theater door. Prime AMC film theaters are supposed to have special seating that reverberates, surround sound and better image. The seats were not as advertised and that is half of the draw of the Prime AMC experience. I would have went to another theater that actually had what they advertised. Who wants to sit for a 3 hour movie and be uncomfortable. This is false advertising. When I called Lisa the manager at the Saratoga Springs 11 she said that they are aware of the advertising issue and charging premium price for a standard film experience. Lisa said she would reach out to corporate but when she called me back she said the GM told her they would not refund me and if I still wished to get a refund I could submit a request through the online forum. Lisa did not seem to care that they are literally deceiving people with this false advertising and charging premium price for a standard film experience. Don't be fooled this location only offers standard film format anything else is just fake advertising as they don't have it. Personally I would recommend any other theater that does not use this scummy and frankly illegal tactic to get money. As mentioned by previous reviews, "The AMC Prime theatre is not a Prime theatre. It’s supposed to have recliner immersive sound seating and it does NOT. So you pay for a premium theatre experience to...
Read moreI like this theater to an extent, especially because it is new, and love the location.
BUT
I've seen about 4 movies here now, 2 in BTX, 2 in normal digital projection,
A few things that drive me nuts though:
They seem to show WAY TO MANY trailers. Most theaters show between 3 and 5 trailers, but nope, they always show 10 Trailers, you feel like your going to pull you eyes out by the 10th one.
The BTX projector has 4 dark spots on the sides and tends to look terrible on black images (like black levels are not very well balanced, almost like watching a 3d movie without glasses on, WAY to much WHITISH GLARE)
If you see a movie that is NOT in BTX (first 2 movies I saw here) the sound is so quiet that you can barely hear the movie. If you ask them to turn it up they act like jerks about it.
Some Things I Like:
On Tuesday's its only $6 to see a movie ALL DAY, its a good deal, and popcorn buckets for larges are also only $5 on Tuesdays.
The seats are comfortable (but can make allot of squeaking noise, as there all leather)
The location, and it never seems to busy.
I've been to over 40 Different movie theaters in several different states, There are SEVERAL theater that out preform this one in terms of QUALITY of the presentation of the movie itself, I've see smaller theater franchises outperform the digital presentation of a movie than this...
