If I could give 0 stars, I would. I encourage anyone who’s considering this store for their suit needs to read about my experience before going to them:
Saturday, 3/16 - I ordered 5 suits for my groomsmen. We were told they would arrive in 5-10 business days (two weeks). 5 days later, I was called about changing the order from a 3-piece to a 2-piece because the brand doesn’t make vests in the same color anymore. I agreed; this can be a simple fix.
Tuesday, 4/2 - 12 days after approving the two-piece order, I called to check on the status of the suits. Only two had come in; That’s fine - we were told they would be in shortly.
Monday, 4/8 - nearly a week later, I checked in again. I was told the suits were never ordered because I never gave them the “okay” to order the two-piece suits. So why was I told there were already two in-store? They blamed me for this mistake. I went to the store in person to order the vests. But wait… those two suits WERE in store. ??? I ordered the vests and decided I would return next week to get the vests and all of the suits.
Monday, 4/15 - I called again to make sure the vests and remaining suits were in. An older man answered the phone and told me “Calling this much won’t make them come any faster,” In my speechlessness at this comment, he hung up on me. I had only called them four times at this point, none of which were during the 5-10 business days I was told. I called again to ask for a tracking number, since I was getting no communication from the store. The same man answered and immediately denied giving me a tracking number. He placed me on hold. After a few minutes of waiting, a woman answered the phone and gave me the tracking number. I asked why the man told us we couldn’t get one, to which she replied that she had no idea why he would say that. The suits were set to arrive Wednesday 4/17.
Tuesday, 4/16 - I went to the store to pick up the two suits that had been delivered. The price per suit was ~ $175.
Wednesday, 4/17 - The rest of the suits had been delivered, according to the tracking number. I went to the store to pick them up. This time, I had the displeasure of working with the older man in person, who acted very annoyed that I did not wait for their call (even though they have given me no communication whatsoever - how could I have expected a call from them? We are also now very crunched on time). He gives me the total: $190 per suit. Upon asking why, he told me that the $190 was the right amount: “$149 for the two-piece and ~$25 for the vests.” (This equals $175…) He refused to change the price until seeing “proof”. I asked him to find it in his own records and lo and behold, I remembered correctly: $175 per suit. After paying, I asked why this was such a difficult process.This man doubled down and told me again that it was my fault for never placing the order. I said that this wasn’t true, and he told me to prove that I ordered them, to which I asked him to prove that I didn’t. He sifted through his notes, which have already proved unreliable from the lack of consistent communication. He didn’t show me any proof. After a month of being led on and disrespected by this man and his business, I told him that the service was ridiculous. He told me that I’ve “got some balls” to comment on his service like this, then threatened to call the police on me if I didn’t leave immediately. Read moreCame in here with my fiancee and our groomsmen to look at suits and there were about two other customers in the store. We were met by the staff with rude looks and at one point some dude with a ponytail physically moved a groomsman out of his way, rudely said “EXCUSE ME” and rolled his eyes. At that point we were ready to buy a couple suits but decided to leave. Afterwards I realized that their website asks for no large parties, which was our mistake. So I called and apologized. When I apologized, the man on the phone told me it was alright because when we were in there it wasn’t busy and we came at a slower time of day. Once I very calmly told him we were disappointed by the way we were treated his tone completely switched and said that it was a Saturday and the staff had other customers and they “couldn’t babysit us for 3 hours.” We were there for about 30 minutes with nobody helping us. So he initially acknowledged that it was slow but then said the opposite once he was called out for his unprofessional snooty behavior, and then invited me to come back (why would I ever give you my money after this experience lol) then hung up on me. Seriously the most stuck up staff especially considering the inside smelled like cigarettes and the employees look like they should be working at an adult video store. I work in customer service and would never dream of physically moving a customer out of my way or speaking to a customer like that especially someone that is getting ready to celebrate one of the most exciting days of their life. Read moreI deeply regret trusting St. Louis Suit Company with my wedding party’s business. Despite bringing them 10 customers for suits, the staff treated us with arrogance and a shocking lack of professionalism. When I picked up my suit, they handed it over with a dismissive “have a nice day,” without offering a fitting. The pants were far too big and clearly not the size originally suggested and paid to be fixed.
When I returned to address their mistake, they refused to fix it, blaming me for not trying on the suit in store. Their response was not only unhelpful but downright insulting. They laughed at the idea of customer service, bragged about the business I brought them, and offered no resolution other than threatening to call the cops.
The staff belittled me, gaslit me, and made me feel crazy for expecting basic respect and accountability. This experience was humiliating and infuriating. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this business at all costs.
Rude and unprofessional. Sold me a suit with the wrong sized pants. Went to get it fixed and they refused to help me. Blamed me for the error then threatened to call the cops. Said because i tried it on, it presents a health code violation. Dont know how you can get fitted for a suit without trying it on.
I could get better service from a call center in India than from these guys. They will take your money, then laugh at you for trusting...
