After my daughter's birthday party trip to the zoo we got balloons - her absolute favorite thing in the world- at Party City on Shaw Ave to get her balloons & then drove all the way back to Dinuba for her birthday BBQ only to find that all the ballooons were deflating!!! The person who inflated the helium balloons DIDN'T TIE THE BALLOONS, she just squeezed them closed and tied a freakin ribbon around the bottom!! So all the helium was escaping! When we realized what had happened I called right away & the manager said that unless I drove them all the way back to Fresno there was nothing he could do to make up some of cost. I even tried to help him do his job by saying how about some store credit for the future in the form of an email, still he said he was sorry but there was nothing he could do unless I returned the bouquet to the store. This was clearly a training issue, I've trained & managed customer service teams over a decade, I take a lot of pride in solving problems & creating victories out of bumps & failure. So so disappointed in this manager, he should have figured out a way to make this up to us. There's no way I except that a store manager can't even give me a coupon for future use. We are so disappointed in this situation & lack of ownership of the failure on their part. :( Our in-laws & her great grandpa are in town especially for her birthday party & this is so unacceptable as far as customer service. Even just a "We're sorry here's a coupon for your next party" would have been a nice gesture. :(
Lesson: Watch them inflate and make sure they tie them off properly. Don't make he mistake we made of trusting that someone has been trained to do...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis location is a little ratty, but it definitely does the job. The staff are all very helpful, and they're always fully stocked with interesting things, including Halloween costumes and Christmas decorations, year round. They also have a fairly diverse set of balloons, and they blow them up for you. We've used them time and time again for unusual birthday balloons!
One thing I really enjoy doing is going over there just for the candy. I have a bit of a sweet tooth, and this location sells large bags of most of the good kinds of candy. An example of pricing is a roughly two-fist sized bag of swedish fish for five bucks. I have roughly average sized man's hands
There's a lot of stains on the floor, it's a little dusty, and a couple of the items are a little old, but I still enjoy going there. And again, Halloween costumes year round?! C'mon.
One more thing... If you go towards the bathrooms there, be ready for a spooky (but not too spooky) surprise!! š (Don't worry spooky-sensitive people, there is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTheir lack of selection has dwindled over the years and with Party City no longer around I'd have thought the variety would have increased. Didn't find the things I needed and ended up going to Amazon.
Update: Since I've been responded to and asked for clarification, the store's baby shower items were severely lacking to non-existent. The store had no invitations, no games, 1 tablecloth option, very few wall and decoration options. They were out of cake decorations for a baby shower and the one shash option for Mother to be was damaged. The limited staff also didn't know the inventory and told us they had invitations when what they had was 2 baby attendance books. So yes, since this store, the other Party Works in west Fresno, and Walmart didn't have invitations we went where we could purchase them. I will add that the West Fresno location had way more baby shower inventory and still didn't have...
