We did arrive about 8:30pm at night and when we entered the premises we were welcome in with sites of vaulted ceilings, fireplace, a large seating area with tables and chairs for dinning and a small sitting area next to the fire with a large flat screen tv. The entry floors were very modern with the porcelain wood tiles and wall to wall modern furnishing and wallpaper. We did walk up on the front desk to sign in and there was no one attending the desk to help us check in. A security card did come up to us and said someone would be with us shortly. It took about 20 mins before the security guard went in search of the attendant, which was a little annoying, as we just traveled six hours and then sat at a tournament for another six hours and we just wanted to lay down and go to bed. The front desk attendant wasn’t rude, she was at least pleasant, but I did give the service a waiting of four because there should always be someone to greet the customers and they shouldn’t have to wait for a extended amount of time. When we did get to the room we were pleasantly pleased with the vaulted ceilings and the cleanliness was much appreciated. The kitchen was just right and had several features we didn’t expect like a small 2 burner stove top and a dishwasher. The kitchen was pretty furnished with bowls, cups, plates, utensils, as well as cooking utensils, pots, pans, etc. Which was nice, as we planned on cooking most of our meals while staying here. The living space was nice with a L sectional, which was also a pull out couch. A large desk with also a makeup area. The bathroom was very modern and the shower was great. Most showers when you step into a class shower enclosure you have to turn on the water right in front of the shower head, but the shower handle was on the opposite wall, which allowed you to turn your shower on and let it warm before you even had to enter. They did also have, shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers hanging in the shower for use. The shampoo, condition and body wash was actually very nice and provided great scents. I have really thick and long hair, so having good shampoo, conditioner is mandatory. I normally bring my own, but this trip I didn’t have to take mine out. Awesome! Bathroom also included the normal, lotion, small bar of soap, makeup remover, towels and hand towels with bath math, as well as a blow dryer. The bathroom was also had motion activated lights. The bed was really comfy and it felt, as If it had a small memory foam mattress underneath, as it molded to your body and wasn’t hard, the comforter was very thick and had multiple layers for comfort, which most hotels don’t think of. I always bring an extra blanket just because of this detail most hotels leave out. The pillow was cheap though and wasn’t full and went flat when you put your head on it. Luckily, I did bring my own. I did find a few things that should be on the checklist when cleaning the room. Check all lights to make sure they operate, which if there is to many out it could be annoying. Now on to the food. The first time we didn’t get to get breakfast, as we had to be up out before breakfast was served, which was 7-9am. The next day, we were able to get breakfast. They have a small kitchen buffet area set up off of the living dining area that is closed off with frosted glass barn doors, when breakfast is not being served. They had a pretty substantial variety of choices for all different type of dieters requirements. There was a waffle machine with batter, syrups and butter, also a bagel, muffin, scone bar with condiments, oatmeal bar with a large variety of things to accommodate your oatmeal, a small fruit bar with only bananas and oranges, a small hot breakfast area, which included a hard biscuit and sausage sand which, egg/cheese muffin, sausage patties, 3 cheese jalapeño muffins and powdered eggs. Drinks also. Food not great but not horrible.

This is an updated review. I called because I wanted them to compensate me for the inconvenience they caused during my stay. Cassandra said she’s sorry if I feel that I was not treated right even as an ambassador member. She’ll “tell the manager, and they’ll compensate me if they feel like it.” They also charged my card for the pet fee when I have my company authorization that says pet fee is to be charged to the company’s card. The updated on they have was on Feb 2. The email I forwarded them dated in Feb 3 says that the pet fee was supposed to be charged on the company’s card. So I asked them to mail me the receipt in order to submit reimbursement. Cassandra said she’ll do it later, not while I’m on the phone with her, because she has other things to do. What do you think of their customer service? Would you risk staying there? Like I said, I won’t be staying there again when I am in Fresno again. ————————————————————- I am an ambassador member, and I don't get treated any better here. They put me on the third floor when they have 4 floors. I thought that I was on the top floor, so I didn't ask. I found out when I entered the elevator. The room they gave me has a bathroom floor covered in black scuff marks . At first, I thought they were mud prints. The shower doors need cleaning. The toilet doesn't get cleaned regularly, so it's got water stains. The microwave doesn't work. I told them about it. There's no one to look at the microwave today, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow. When I asked for makeup removers, I was told someone would bring them to my room. No one came. It's the same when I I asked for additional washcloths. Service is poor, and the place is not well maintained. Very disappointed. I won't stay in this hotel the next time I'm here for business.

The Residence Inn Fresno/Clovis hotel is nice, but I would not recommend it for an extended stay due to the General Managers incompetence and disrespect. I travel for work and had a great experience while at The Residence Inn in Modesto, but sadly my experience at this location has been very frustrating and has not lived up to The Marriott standard as promised. The General Manager, Chelsea Roberts unwillingness to rectify any of my concerns became so increasingly frustrating that I chose to find alternative housing. I was a LONG-TERM resident at this location and was booked out for many months in advance, however, Chelsea refused to find a solution to only charge my credit card once per week (like the Residence Inn at Modesto did for all their long term residents), additionally she would not stop the upwards of 5 unnecessary pre-authorizations charged to my credit card weekly too! This was an accounting nightmare trying to track everything on my end! Secondly, when I realized my earned Bonvoy points were not being added to my account AT ALL I immediately advised Chelsea of this, again she refused to find a solution to add the points to my Bonvoy account weekly. I literally had months worth of points that were not added. Sadly, rather than Chelsea trying to help assist me with this particular issue and or “pre-settle” my account weekly (like the Residence Inn in Modesto did) she was quick to dismiss my concern and advised me to just contact Bonvoy Membership Services. Apparently, Chelsea was above contacting The Residence Inn in Modesto to educate herself on a different process that might be in the best interest of her residents. I have remained professional with Chelsea Roberts, but every single encounter with her has felt like I am inconveniencing her and the permanent look of disgust on her face truly says it all. She lacks customer service, communication and the ability to problem solve. She is supposed to be a leader in hospitality, yet she is unapproachable and a very unfriendly face of Marriott. I have literally never witnessed her smile or even say hello to any resident in this hotel including myself and I’ve been here for months! There are other concerns I had with Chelsea during my long term stay, notably her lack of presence at this hotel, but I will save those thoughts for a personal conversation with her boss directly. To end on a positive note, the staff at this location has far surpassed our expectations. The front desk employees, Kendra, Kalie, Kevin, Kim, Mia, Cassandra, the housekeeping staff and all the maintenance gentleman were great, it is so unfortunate that the General Manager can ruin a once great experience with Marriott. One last remark if I may, thankfully the staff at the Fresno/Clovis is NOT a direct reflection of Chelsea’s poor leadership, I believe they have risen above her laziness and clear lack of encouragement on all levels. If Chelsea treats her residents like this, I cannot imagine what her staff is dealing with on a daily basis. Just my opinion, but I believe this incredible staff would thrive with a much needed change in Leadership. Chelsea Roberts, it is shameful you’re in a Management position or in this career field at all! I hope your boss takes the time to read this review and you have to be accountable for your lack of presence at this hotel and the outward disrespect you have for your residents and presumably your...

Don't stay here if you have a service animal or are with family. They will try to charge a cleaning fee even though it's illegal, then kick you out. My mother and brother checked in late at night (9p) and informed the front desk agent, Kolone, that they had a service dog. The agent did not mention anything about the fee until my family got all their bags into the room and relaxed for 20 - 30 minutes, then she called saying there would be a pet fee of $100. Our dog is fully trained and is a licensed service animal. My mom tried to explain, but she didn't seem to care, so to avoid tension, my mother decided to just check out at 10p and verified that they would not be charged. Afterward, they went to the front desk to ensure they won't be charged, and she threatened to kick us out with her security guard, Lisa, because she thought my mom took a picture of her THEN lied to the security officer in front of my mom saying that my mother said she took a picture of her when she didn't. Honestly, with how Kolone acted, it seemed like she was on something. (To give context, my mother has one of those samsung flip phones, and to set them down properly, you have to prop it up like a laptop, so maybe there was some confusion.) At this point, I called the hotel. Once she took me off hold, I asked for her name, and she provided it. Then I informed her that I was calling in regards to my family with the service animal, and I wanted to clear up any confusion their may be about our animal. She was uncooperative and wouldn't explain anything about why she would charge a fee. She also refused to give me the security guards name, so I asked my mother what it was. After that, my mother called me telling me Kolone threatened to call the police on her because my mom "took a picture of her" when she didn't. My mother decided to just leave and not continue the argument. Once I heard this, I called again to ask a couple of questions, and she wouldn't answer any of them. I asked if she would still charge a fee for our service animal if we got everything sorted and she didn't answer. I asked 9 times, and even with her coworker there, they both had no answer. I told them that it was illegal to charge someone for a service animal and that management has failed them in educating them about the legalities regarding service animals. She continued to be uncooperative and didn't give me the manager's name or her coworkers name. At this point, it's 11pm at night, and we can not find a hotel. If you're a single mom with a kid, don't stay here. They'll kick you out...
