I've been a member of eight gyms in the last thirty years, so I have seen a broad range of facilities for comparison. I'm the kind of person who is happy to drive halfway across town to find the right gym-home. I've now been a member of Anytime Fitness North Boise for the last 5 years, and despite my wanderlust can't come up with a reason to go anywhere else. AFNB seems to appeal to people who are serious about their workouts, but without the rage, competitiveness, or exhibitionism. Even the guy who always shows up in pirate pants to invent new lifts is super nice and happy to offer you a spot or elaborate on what-in-the-name-of-Odin he's trying to do.
As others have pointed out, the gym owner is onsite most days and into the early evening. He takes great pride in his gym being clean and all machines remaining fully functional. He frequently adds new equipment for those of us who get bored easily. His gym is a place where people feel welcomed and inspired, and I'm honored to have made several true friends there. This is easily a 5-star gym that...
Read moreI recently (3days ago) went on a deployment to Washington DC where I wouldn’t have a car or anyway to get to an anytime fitness and Jerome was able to help me out by canceling my membership and even waved my cancelation fee so I wouldn’t be wasting money on a membership I wouldn’t be able to use. While I had the membership I used the facility a few times and they didn’t disappoint but due to moving homes I was unable to use it enough to make it really worth it. A word of caution to people thinking about joining just make sure that you know what you are getting into the year long contract that I was in cost me 100s of dollars over the course of about 6 months and I was only able to use the membership for about a month before I was forced to move out of my living situation. I lost out on a lot but it’s a lesson learned. To any military members just know these guys will help you out and don’t be afraid to plead your case they were more than willing to go at a loss for me....
Read moreI SPENT SEVERAL WEEKS IN SPAIN AND NEEDED TO USE MY ANYTIME FITNESS MEMBERSHIP DAILY. THE GYM THERE SAID THAT MY MEMBERSHIP IN THE STATES WOULD NOT APPLY THERE, REQUIRING ME TO ONLY WORK OUT THERE WHEN THERE WERE (LIMITED)OFFICE HOURS AND I HAD TO PAY. I WENT ROUND AND ROUND WITH THEM — THEY WERE AMIABLE BUT WOULD NOT CHANGE THEIR MIND; THAT CLUB HAD RECEIVED INCORRECT INFORMATION FROM CORPORATE IN SPAIN. FINALLY, I REACHED OUT TO AF IN BOISE, AND SCOTT SPARKS DID AN AMAZING JOB FOR ME. HE WAS RELENTLESS IN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT A WAY TO FIX IT, AND HAD COMMUNICATED WITH CORPORATE HERE QUITE A BIT, AND HE MADE LOTS OF PHONE CALLS AND EMAILS TO SORT IT OUT, AND KEPT ME INFORMED THROUGHOUT. FINALLY, THE EMAIL THREAD AND CONVERSATIONS SCOTT HAD WITH CORPORATE SWAYED AF IN SPAIN TO LET ME USE THEIR GYM, WHEN I WANTED TO, AND WITHOUT PAYING. SCOTT TRULY WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO GET ME SQUARED AWAY THERE. HIS EFFORT WAS AMAZING AND MUCH...
