I really enjoyed this place. Stayed a week. Towels fluffy, in room coffee tasty, decor and cleanliness outstanding and the STAFF… I’m peeved I didn’t get anyone’s name but curly haired gentleman at front desk, just a delight! The valet young kid with longer hair, a charming one. The girl with dark hair, blonde highlights, nose ring: just adorable and friendly. Staff gets the win here. They were so kind all around and accommodating.
Restaurant isn’t bad. Super swanky. Friendly staff. Because I was staying here, had my whole company in to dine here, not blow your mind fabulous but drinks were decent, bar tenders seemed happy - perhaps pricey but not shabby all around.
A few quirky misses to note tho: if you’re staying on a certain side of the hotel, you get a super decent wake up call at 4:30am by a city delivery truck delivering something to somewhere and makes as much noise as humanly possible by moving around racks/rails, right on the nose of 4:30am every weekday morning. Its loud. Ear plugs and sound machine did not do much to help. It’s too bad, cuz you’re loving your sleep cuz the beds are good, but that delivery truck is at least a 20 minute riot. TV in my room stopped working and I requested it to be looked at 3 days in a row and it never was looked at. I played games on my phone, so I lived. They missed housekeeping one day, which I survived OBVS but needed to wrangle more coffee and clean my own cups. I don’t put towels on the floor so that was ok.
You request your car through an app, and both times I requested, it wasn’t realized. That’s ok. But you wait a little bit. Wouldn’t mind the option to park yourself, not to save the daily fee so much as more so I’m not bothering people with my car items. Valet is required here. There is an additional daily charge.
Otherwise, nice change to the Boise typical hotel layout. I was charmed and again, every one was a saint. They made it all around...

New to Boise, walking into this one-of-a-kind establishment, I was immediately captivated by the unique fusion of history and contemporary elegance. The fact that there's no duplication of art or furniture throughout the hotel speaks volumes about their commitment to authenticity and individuality.
Let's talk about those suites. The idea of soaking in a tub while enjoying the city and foothill views or having a drink from my very own balcony is lovely. I took a moment to appreciate the thoughtfulness of combining historical significance with modern luxury. It was extremely thought through in design.
Now, the staff – they're not just knowledgeable, they're your personal guides to making memories. From recommending the best local spots to offering insights into the hotel's rich history, their warmth and expertise make you feel right at home.
When it comes to dining, prepare your taste buds for a journey! The French brasserie and the English pub (with their speakeasy vibes), are extensions of the hotel's high-quality essence. Whether you're craving a delightful culinary adventure or a cozy night out, these spots deliver with finesse.
In a world where cookie-cutter experiences dominate, The Avery Hotel stands tall as a testament to individuality and a blend of eras. If you're seeking a getaway that's both a nod to the past and a step into the future, I cannot recommend this place enough. Book a stay, indulge in the charm, and let yourself be...
Read moreMy husband and I planned a stay-cation here as a date night near our 20th Anniversary back in December. We arrived around 4pm, valeted our truck and checked in to our room. The front desk was friendly but there was no lounge area in the lobby, which was a tiny bit disappointing (I'd been eagerly awaiting the opening of this hotel because I adore the owner's other space, Little Pearl Oyster Bar, which reminds me of being back east). When we got to our room I was slightly shocked at how small it was. I knew we booked a "Cozy Queen" but I don't think I've been in a hotel room that size except for in NYC. No big deal, the room was charming and the decor and furnishings were thoughtfully curated...I appreciate that as a design and interiors lover! The next morning we got up and used the app to pay for the valet (even adding on a tip) and to call for our car, but when we walked downstairs we were notified that there was no valet available. We ended up walking with our luggage a couple blocks away to pick up our truck inside a parking garage. Sort of irritating that we paid for this "valet service." Had we known, we would've just parked our own car in the public garage. I really appreciate that we have a quaint boutique hotel like this in Boise, I just wish they had done something to make the stay unforgettable (it could be as simple as having water available upon arrival, a freshly baked cookie when we walked in, or hot coffee when we came down in the morning). Something to make it seem more welcoming...
