Stayed here because 3 years ago I had no issue and would’ve highly recommended it. Google pictures have not been updated since at least 2018. This “hotel” has a lot of extended stay that are catered to. Do not stay here…RUN! Upon arrival we were not let in the lobby, had just driven 4 hours to get here, was told to use the bathroom in the non-smoking room we would be staying in that was still dirty and reeked of weed. Because of traveling with a pet we were switched to a different room. The door had previously been kicked in and barely closed. Cockroach on the floor, dirty air vent, bathroom not cleaned-there was urine on the toilet seat, hair in the tub. I never let my bare feet hit the floor. Beds are worn out. Starting at 3:30 p.m the “hotel” extended stay occupant turns it into Club Coconut Extended Stay, loud music from 3:30 p.m. until you call the front desk, after this it gets louder. The front desk wears headphones and claims to not hear it. I was awaken at 10 pm to it had gotten louder, I called the front desk and threatened law enforcement to where it was finally stopped. The following day at 3:30, same thing, loud music, guests/extended stay occupants kicking in doors, playing loud music. Went to the office where we’re told this is the normal but we will tell them to turn it down since you’re complaining. Leave the premises to have a little family time. Returned an hour later to where the music had gotten louder, extended stay occupants outside talking loud, motorcycle racing in the back lot where cars park. Again reported to the office, nothing done. Trash everywhere outside, broken bottles, shotgun shells, extended stay occupants lounging outside on the ground intoxicated, trashy back lot. Chairs everywhere, not that they look nice either! We left early and gave the office reasoning since they can’t control their extended stay occupants. 2.5 hours after leaving my wife realizes leaving her wallet on the bed, she immediately calls the property at least 10 times before they finally answer, advised front desk clerk of leaving wallet, she goes to the room where it’s already being cleaned to where she’s told by housekeeping bed has already been stripped and no wallet found. While the clerk is walking to the room we are on the phone, music blaring, she informs extended stay occupant to lower the music where he told her no. As I stated, extended stay occupants are catered to. We stop for restroom breaks a little further down the road, check with two sets of eyes through our belongings, no wallet. Call property to inform them the wallet is definitely there at the “hotel”, front desk clerk states housekeeping had wadded all the sheets and curtain thin covers in the washer, we ask if she could at least look through it, advise her that cards have been cancelled so it’s no use to anyone there. Front desk clerk refuses to help. My wife informed her sister who was staying at a different location in PCB of the situation. Her sister goes to the property in person, walks up to the window and saw my wife’s wallet laying on the counter, tells the front desk clerk she’s there to pick up that wallet that belongs to her sister. Front desk clerk never called us to ask any identifying questions, well excuse me she did call but hung up as soon as my wife answered. My wife called the property 3 times after they disconnected the call to where the front desk clerk refused to answer and no voicemail setup. Her sister then called to let her know she had the wallet but she was not ID’d for proof, however they handed the wallet over to her. If you left a 5 star review I hope they paid y’all well, there is nothing even 1 star...
Read moreMine and my husbands first trip to PCB and wandered into a portal to hell when we rented this dump for one night which was July 1,2016. We paid $160.00 for one night and we should of just stayed in the dumpster cause it was safer than the room the foreign lady who rented us the room acted like this room was nice but when your screwing strangers out of 160 a night what else do you expect from these people? The outside was full of stray cats and loud people ,motorcycle engine noises all night pulling up next to your room the door was hard to open and close the furniture inside was broken and run down, the floor hadn't been swept it looked like in forever and behind the nasty looking couch was a disgusting mix of funk and dirt and the comforter looked stained and smelled funny I threw it on the nasty floor and the sheets was stained yellow along with the pillows and pillow cases the pillows also was disgusting when I pulled the case back and looked like they hadn't been replaced in years, the bathroom sink wouldn't go down and there was things in the drain that had mold in them they had been there so long also the bathroom tub had holes punched in them which was covered up with duct tape the fixture in the tub where you push the thing down and up for a bath looked like acid was laying in it and there was stains and black rings and funk in the shower plus the water wouldn't go down unless you held the knob down also the toilet had plastic pieces glued at the bottom of the toilet to keep it from falling threw the floor and also the toilet didn't wanna flush right and the bathroom door looked like someone rubbed dirt all over it and the molding around the floor wasn't attached anymore it was hanging off and sticking out there was no coffee maker or hair dryer no plastic cups no tissues or toilet paper holder nothing a normal room has in it also there were bugs in the room my husband killed on the wall and I refused to turn the Lights out cause I was afraid what was still in the room. The lights in the room didn't have any fixtures around them just the bulbs sticking out with no covers over them and the bed was hard so we slept very little that night and with one sheet cause I wasn't about to get under the covers. I've seen wild animals have better places to sleep and these people should be shut down cause you don't feel safe your over charged cause they know they can get away with it and I hope everyone who reads this avoids this place like the plague. AVOID THIS DUMP AND JUST STAY ELSEWHERE these people are screwing people and false advertisement cause their rooms are disgusting, again we would of been better off sleeping in...
Read moreWe had reservations at another location however i was so excited about vaca, i left a day earlier. So we arrived in Panama with our fingers crossed we could find a place for one night. Called 10 different places and lucky for us Coconut Grove had a vacancy. I pulled up to the hotel at 10 o’clock at night and could immediately tell this was the place to be!! The pool was full and the smell of stale cigarettes and spilled beer filled the courtyard. The place has that vibe - that ppl check in, but they never check out. Yes, I was reluctant but.... also extremely tired and didn’t want to sleep in the car with my family. So despite my safety concerns we booked a VERY expensive 10 hours at the Coco Grove. The lady in the office seemed to hate her job. She offered us “upstairs or downstairs” i said upstairs hoping to be away from the party downstairs. Then she looks at me strangely, and says “are you sure you want upstairs??” Now idk if it was the bags under my eyes from the 14 hour drive and knew i didn’t want to take the steps or if she was giving me a heads up ... but i took her suggestion and said yes, to the downstairs! The nieghbor’s seemed friendly and i’m sure they would have included me in the rotation had i stayed in the courtyard long enough. Everyone seemed to be living their best lives including the homeless lady having a wash off by the pool. Rooms we’re dimly lit with early 90s decor and bedspread. I did a quick bed inspection, no bugs or signs of a roach infestation. The sheets looked bleached enough, AC was blasting with cold air, and the room had the hottest shower with 5 star water pressure!! We locked the door and used a broken table as a door jam for extra security. The hotel is conveniently located close to restaurants, shopping, and mini golf. And i’m sure 20 plus years ago it was a nice hotel. But due to poor management it’s run down. It’s definitely not due to lack of funds because the price was ridiculous. They charged a $20 deposit which is silly considering what the room looked like in daylight hours We stayed, we saw, and we rolled out the next morning. Would i stay again, Heck No!! I will always remember to make accommodations ahead of time. Do Not book here, there’s PLENTY of nicer, safe hotels in PCB that are less expensive.. even during...
