Roaches in the bathroom crawling in and out of the cracks in the wall, plaster around the tub has openings and places roaches can hide. You don't get new towels even if the maid is at your door. Rosie told me “NO” she didn't have towels as I was staring at a cart full. I called management to complain, he told me per policy they can't give towels out until you turn in your old ones. He told me we were informed of this policy when we checked in which is FALSE we were never told that. I got upset and hung up. Andrew the GM was very rude called to bother my husband at work (because I wasn't a "registered guest" when that wasn't my fault the clerk never asked for my ID only my husbands because he was paying;) Andrew threatened the cops "will come and remove me" claiming false allegations of me "slamming doors and yelling at staff making them feel unsafe" definitely a LIE. I think Andrew has MAJOR issues with power and control. I went out to apologize for my tone, that I definitely had out of frustration because I was asking for towels naked, thinking it would be a quick exchange and not an argument. Threatening the cops when you paid OVER $500 dollars to be here for 4 nights is pretty ridiculous. Especially when I did no such behaviors that they are claiming. Daniel at the front counter was also rude and had piercings all in his face. Very unprofessional. Daniel was Sitting there texting slouched over in a chair. I cannot wait to check out. We are here on a business trip. Not for fun. The staff is not accommodating at all. I didn't get the other guys name that initially made the complaint but I think he was handicapped and perhaps took my tone the wrong way. He seemed slow. I just got his name. It's Paul. Only nice employee here is a maid named 'Sarah' greeted me with a smile when I asked if she had seen Paul. It will be interesting to see if he tries to remove me for this comment, very unstable GM. Outlets to charge your phone don't work. Toilet looks like it's never been cleaned before, bathroom smells like mold and the shower drips. Ac doesn't get cold. Only one window opens the second is jammed. Bed is very uncomfortable and the sheets are scratchy against your skin. Bring your own sheets. Pillows and towels have other people's hair on them. Towels have curly black pubic hair on them. No vent in the bathroom to help the mold smell ventilate. It's a barely up to par hotel Camouflaged to seem luxurious. There is construction in the lobby. The elevator barely works use the stairs. The other guests are friendly here. Traveling nurses and working men, my husband and I are also here for work. Decently quiet besides dogs barking and the maids slamming the vacuums into your door. I would never stay here again. The staff is unacceptable, especially the GM Andrew. There is a nice area to walk your dog but no plastic bags to clean up after your dog. That slot is empty. It seems they cut corners here on cleanliness and replenishing things. I would never stay here again. There is no pool. very unprofessional. Andrew called my husband at work 3 times. I went down and gave him my ID. Andrew has never been in charge before you can tell; with his out of line power trip. Perhaps he was upset I hung up on him, and his feelings were hurt? No excuse. He clearly doe NOT know how to deescalate frustrating situations instead he escalated it by threatening the cops with no solution provided for an upset guest, that wasn't informed on the "towel policy". He is unfortunately the GM and isn't here for guests needs. I wouldn't stay here again if I was paid to. The staff is very unfriendly and unhelpful. I went down there to "register" since the guy at the front desk apparently didn't do his job correctly when we FIRST checked in, that shouldn't be the guests problem that your employee failed at his duties to register both people in the party renting the room. So ridiculous. I cannot wait to check out. There internet also sucks and kicked me off line as I tried to leave this review making me start completely over. Dirty sheets,...
Read moreHands down, this was the grimiest, most disgusting hotel we've ever stayed at. I'm not sure what happened, because my husband and I stayed here in August of 2023. At that time, though the hotel and rooms were outdated and plain, everything was clean and well-maintained.
We were surprised to find that now, a little over a year later, it is clear that a vacuum cleaner is never, or rarely used, anywhere in the hotel. The lobby and hallways are filthy and dust coated, with floors cluttered with debris, lint, and hair, such as you would find at home when you move an appliance that has been in place for a long time.
The first room they gave us was on the second floor, and as soon as we walked in we were hit with the strong odor of urine. We asked for a different room, and the front desk attendant was very kind and polite and provided us with the last room available, this time on the third floor. This room didn't have an odor, but it was extremely filthy and grimy. We were thankful that, at least, the sheets had been changed and fresh towels been placed. However, the floors were filthy- debris and hair and dust everywhere. All the surfaces in the room (table, counter tops, night stands, light switches, door knobs, etc) we're smudged with dirty hand prints, food residue, toothpaste smears, etcetera, and coated with dust. The toilet had pee and pubic hair all around the base and floor, and the outside of the bowl was streaked with pee. The faucet was filthy with toothpaste splatter, and the bathtub had about an 8 inch ring of brownish grime in it, with a lighter color grime coating the shower walls. The bathtub faucet had dried water stains and soap scum. It's clear that no one even took so much as a cloth to wipe anything in the room, let alone truly clean and sanitize. The bathroom mirror was missing from the brackets. The mirror in the bedroom area was covered in dust and children's handprints.
We were exhausted, having arrived after a long day of driving, and we didn't feel comfortable asking the staff to come clean our room (not because the staff was unkind- to be clear, everyone was very polite), but rather because we didn't want anyone with such strange and low standards of basic cleanliness to enter our room and work on our space. Instead, we went to Walmart and bought supplies to clean the room ourselves. Honestly, I was dry heaving and gagging a lot while cleaning the bathroom. We did what we could with the energy level we had, then went to bed. We spent as little time at the hotel as possible, and at the end of each day when it was time to return I felt so bummed out and would cringe when we pulled into the parking lot for the night. I don't know what California's hotel laws and regulations are, but we travel all over California and the country and have stayed in many hotels, including other Extended Stays, and have never seen anything so disgusting. I'm surprised this place hasn't been forced to close down. It's not even fit...
Read moreI know the phrase “you get what you pay for” and I’m not very picky, nor was I looking for something extravagant. I never write reviews but this experience was so notably unpleasant that I thought it would be helpful to others to know what you’re getting into. Left a summary at the bottom. I’ll immediately get into the cons:
CONS
Very dirty rooms. Stained floors. Filthy office chairs (literally looked like several people stepped on the seat or something. It was comically gross, I’m not exaggerating). There was random trash, hair, candy, wrappers underneath the bed. The blanket that came with the room had a large dirt mark underneath it, so we had to ask for a replacement. We lifted the sheets from the mattress to see if they were dirty, revealing a mattress with 2 large, brown stains on the surface. We asked for 3 bedsheets to cover the mattress just to cope with the stain.
The fridge barely worked. Depending on the person, you might not care. It smelled bad and made everything we placed in it also smell bad, including water bottles. It cooled items just barely lower than room temperature. We had to toss some leftovers we placed in it.
The shower was barebones but seemed fine initially. Then a few minutes after turning it on, the water kept spurting and randomly stopping.
If you need to do any video calls, you have to pay an extra $7 per day despite the normal WiFi being free. Again, this one may not matter to you unless you’re working remotely.
Suspicious looking people constantly hovering around the entrance or sitting on the hallway floor in front of rooms. Bumped into a few kind people, but a lot of the people there kept staring at us. This isn’t directly the hotel’s fault but it made us feel like we had to be on alert at all times.
PROS
Staff was VERY kind and accommodating when we had requests.
The building neighbors a VERY good Latino breakfast restaurant
The building is in walking distance to an Italian restaurant, a sushi restaurant and a Ralphs.
Summary: I booked this place because I was traveling for work reasons and didn’t wanna break the bank for a 4-day stay. In hindsight, I wish I’d just booked a better spot and thrown it on a credit card. Filthy rooms, bad fridge, stained bed and dirty blankets. The only redeeming qualities were the nice reception staff and the fact that you can easily escape your room to visit the shopping/restaurant plaza within walking distance. If you’re not desperate, I would not...
