We’re back in South Carolina and had to stop by Flight Adventure in Columbia. This indoor kids fun park is packed with things to do. We completed the waivers online, which made getting in quick and easy. We chose the 90 minute pass and it was the perfect amount of time for our boys. They also offer two hour and all day passes if you want to hang out longer. The park features a huge trampoline area, a jump pit, a large inflatable basketball court that also doubles as a soccer field, arcade games, laser tag, and go karts. There are also several private hangars for birthday parties, plus an upstairs space that works great for larger parties or private events. Special shout out to the young man running the go karts. He was incredibly patient and kind with our seven year old son who is autistic. He took his time, encouraged him, and made sure he felt comfortable trying something new. That meant everything to us. The go karts are an additional fee, but they are absolutely worth it. If you’re in the Columbia SC area and looking for a fun spot for the kids, a family outing, or even a date day or date night, we definitely recommend checking out @Flight #traveltiktok #columbiasc #columbia #kidfriendly #traveltiktok

After calling ahead to confirm that this camp accepts autistic children and explaining that my son is in pull-ups, I was told that it wouldn’t be a problem. I also explained his autistic behaviors and was reassured that he would be fine. Based on that, I paid the full $180 for the week.

From the very first day, however, it became clear that they were not equipped or willing to truly work with him. Although they initially accepted him, I strongly feel that they used the fact that he’s in pull-ups as an excuse to remove him rather than making any effort to support him. Yes, he’s quick and active he runs but it’s a trampoline park. That kind of energy should be expected.

I was advised to try a shorter schedule (2–3 hours), which I did. Most days, he only stayed for about 2 hours. One day he didn’t attend because it wasn’t feasible for me to bring him just for a short time.

There was one staff member who stood out, a young lady who shared that she had a sibling or cousin with a similar diagnosis. She genuinely connected with my son and wanted to support him. In fact, one day when I arrived, she was speaking to management and asking if she could be assigned to work with my son 1:1. I was so relieved and grateful especially since she was also comfortable changing him if needed, which I was completely okay with. But despite her willingness and familiarity with special needs, they declined her request.

When I asked about a refund, I was told I would only receive $39 out of the $180 even though my son was only there for a few short days and never for a full day based on what they recommended and never got the full experience. I called to speak with the director, who claimed they would “look for someone more suitable” to work with my child. That never happened. Summer is over now, and I never received the additional refund or a follow-up.

Worse than the money is how it affected my son. This was his first camp experience, and he genuinely enjoyed being there. Being abruptly removed from a place he’d grown to love triggered emotional distress and meltdowns anytime we came near the area afterward.

I am extremely disappointed. I would not recommend this program to any parent of a neurodivergent child. I also can’t help but feel there was a level of discrimination involved. One of their own staff members was willing to support my son, and they still refused. This entire experience was hurtful, disheartening, and ultimately a waste of...

This posting is in reference to the Flight Adventure in Sandhills , First I want to address that I have no issue with prices. The issue that I have is I pay 24.99 plus tax for a 2yr old. On 9/14/2024 I came in with my 2 yr old expecting to pay 24.99 plus tax, however a FA team member asked how old is my son , I replied, that he is 2yrs old. The FA team member stated that 2 and under were free I was surprised because I always paid for my 2 yr old, which I stated to the young gentleman. I asked since when has this been the policy he replied with confidence it’s always been that way On October 6th I brought my 2 yr old again this location and asked if my 2yr olds were free one employee stated no, however another employee that was working the register made a statement that the policy had change but wasn’t sure if the policy had been implemented and asked I believe the Shift Manager to with a Manager to find out. After waiting for brief moment the Shift Manager returned with a “no” I asked to speak to another Manager because the Shift Manager seemed annoyed having to go ask a question about a policy After a 15min wait a Mr. Chris Zavala approached seemingly interested in my question about the age policy , however after stating the previous encounter with an FA team member 9/14/2024 , stating that my 2 yr old was free, (btw this was “not” during the times of 10-11 when 6 and under are free )Mr Zavala preceded to say that the team member was confused in a condescending tone and stated to me , “there are no free tickets as if that’s what I wanted “, I felt disrespected as a paying patron and felt very uncomfortable with my child as we felt were being followed around, on the jump floor and the arcade.. after we left the arcade we to exchange our tickets for prizes , our family stood there for 20min with no assistance after asking for help 2Xs and the employees relied were .. “I don’t have a log in number for the register” , eventually and employee who seemed agitated that he had to stop what he was doing to help paying customers came with a lack of urgency and approachable behavior. Lastly it seemed every employee walks around on their phones oblivious to customer service until “CJ” arrives and everyone needs to be on their best behavior as stated by the Shift Manager. The obvious lack of training and knowledge on policies is evident when walking into this FA ....

I must admit that my children have a blast when they go here, but as a parent I feel they're not doing their job to ensure the safety of the children. I understand they have a video showing how to jump and be safe and they have you sign a waiver, but if you've never been there, you really don't know what it's like. My husband and I watched my kids like hawks but it's frustrating that the staff do absolutely NOTHING to keep order! One issue is that all Children jump at the same time. Of course my toddler wanted to jump with her siblings so it was chaotic since much bigger kids are flying all over the place. Parents do not always watch their children so you have to basically follow your kids every where to make sure they're safe. I suggested they should corner off an area for kids under 5 because it's really dangerous even if the kids don't mean to be. My frustration grew when I saw staff hanging around talking letting kids do things they weren't supposed to be doing. Signs are everywhere saying"No Diving" and kids were doing just that including mine who I had to reprimand. A staff member was right there. Nothing said and kids were jumping into the pit while other kids are getting out. If staff don't keep order by enforcing rules then why are they there, wandering around? I guess all they're expected to do is open the rope to let people in. Furthermore a few of them looked like they hated their life. What kind of customer service and welcome is that?!? Lastly, my daughter got a straddle injury on the strap they have meant to be used to tight rope. My husband is partially at fault because he allowed her to do it, something I never would've, but again there were staff around, didn't say anything and if kids were separated by age group into areas more appropriate for their age, this could've been prevented. Be aware and vigilant when you go. I don't think it's fair that we sign our children's lives away to a place that obviously doesn't care for their lives. It's as if you pay them to work there too! Watching your kids is one thing but when you have to attempt to maintain order... that's another. Discuss the video with your kids, teach them how to stay safe and give them certain limitations before they go in. Teach them how to be considerate of other jumpers! Don't expect that...
