I am writing to formally report a deeply upsetting incident that occurred during my recent visit to your facility in 1625 Pleasant Hill Rd, #245 today August 4 2025 at 6:15am A employee confronted me in an aggressive and disrespectful manner, accusing me of having a pending balance on my account. Despite the fact that my LA Fitness app clearly shows that I am allowed access to the gym, this individual publicly humiliated me, refused to let me enter and telling me will call ICE enforcement because I am hispanic I ask him his name and he refuse to give me his name he didn't have his TAG NAME so I take a picture of him and he caused a scene in front of other members this individual appeared to be under the influence of somenthing , as there was a strong smell of weed coming from him. In addition to this, the employee was extremely rude and made comments and displayed behavior that I found to be racially insensitive and discriminatory
This is deeply concerning to me as a paying member who comes to the gym to focus on my health and well-being. LA Fitness is supposed to be a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment, and experiences like this make it feel quite the opposite. It is very unacceptable for anyone especially an employe to behave in this manner and lack customer services skill I believe a thorough review of your employee conduct policies, including random drug testing, may be necessary. It raises serious questions about the hiring and oversight practices currently in place at your facilities. I hope LA Fitness takes this complaint seriously and takes swift action to ensure that all members feel safe, respected, and valued. When I attempted to document the situation by taking a photo, the employee began yelling even louder and told me I would “never come back” to the gym. His behavior was not only unprofessional but also appeared racially motivated, which is extremely disturbing. I have never experienced this kind of treatment in any gym before, and I am shocked and disappointed that someone representing LA Fitness would act in such a way. This experience was embarrassing, degrading, and unacceptable. I feel completely disrespected and unsafe returning to this location. Given the employee’s rude, racist, and unprofessional behavior, I no longer wish to be affiliated with your organization. Additionally, I plan to file a complaint with your corporate office and leave a public review about this incident, as it is important that other potential members are aware of the kind of treatment in this specific location that can occur at...
Read moreI've been going to this LA Fitness location for about 6 months now since I moved to the area. Pretty much the only thing that has kept me here is the location. Its 5 min from my office, so I can come here early in the morning, and be at work without having to fight traffic.
The Equipment is OK. They have 2 squat racks, and 1 power rack. However they do not have a deadlift platform or bumper plates around the power rack, which is confusing. The 4 flat bench press stations is usually plenty to acomodate the crowd I normally see every morning. Thye have a good selection of dumbbells - 2 full sets going up to 100lbs. They also have 2 incline bench press stations, and 1 decline. There are 3 full cable stations in the weight area as well, as well as 3 of the smaller ones over to the side. There are also a fair amount of plate loaded equipment, weight machines and cardio stations. The rowing machines always seem to be broken. For somone looking to run on a treadmill or do a bike, you cant go wrong. If you want to bodybuild, the equipment is sufficient. If you are looking to powerlift, you can get by, but the lack of bumper plates, and only having hex plates really is a bummer.
That said, this place is aboslutely filthy. The cleaning staff is essentially non existent. At least I've really seen no evidence of the place being actively cleaned. The locker rooms are grimy, and the showers bordering on scary. Make sure you bring flip flops.
There is no staff to clean the weight area. I've been at other gyms where there are staff members constantly goign around wiping down equipment, arranging weights, sweeping and vacuuming etc. They might hvae someone do that onece a week. Patrons should be better about racking weights, but it gets so bad that you cannot find a matching set of dumbbells because patrons have strewn them all over the gym. Theres actually a guy who i see spending the first 30 min or so of his workout every morning putting plates back on the racks, and taking the dumbbels back to where they are supposed to go.
Maintenance here is also horrible. One time, the pad on a flat bench press station got damaged. It probably took them 6 weeks to get the thing replaced! Water fountains are constantly going out, and have out of order signs on them for weeks at a time. At any given time, at least 3 stalls in the shower are missing the soap dispenser.
I'll lilely keep going, since the location fits my needs perfectly. I hope the management sees all of the negative comments and cleans...
Read moreI get the workout that I deserve based on my own motivation for any particular day. I try to stay focused on the task at hand and getting healthier. No family rate memberships offered and no military or veteran supportive discounts options for those people who risk theirs lives for this country. As previously mentioned in the other reviews, the staff should be more customer friendly and less rude...but I'll leave that topic alone. I bought a personal trainer package 6 six months ago and has never used it once (my choice because I was successfully getting in shape on my own efforts), but I'm still making the mandatory monthly payments. I've called the customer support line to find out if I could cancel it based upon my life recent lack of income to support both my membership and my personal training fees (basically just getting my monthly disabled veterans pay). So i asked the customer service person if I could cancel just the personal training portion of my membership (since I've never used it anyways) and continue paying for the primary membership. The CSR told me I could only cancel the training portion of it at the gym. So i went to the gym and spoke to the manager. The manager told me know that I have to buyout of my contract at half the cost of my remaining balance. I'm thinking to myself that I've already given them $1,000.00 for service I've never used... and now they want another $400 to $500 from me that I don't have? End result is I'm now in debt, it's on my credit report, I've never received any of the training I paid for...and i no longer have my membership with L. A. Fitness, due to my not being able to pay for both services. I wish I could just go back and get the basic membership, but I guess all I can do now is rack everything...
