Read moreI live in Woodbridge VA but every once in a blue moon, I like to visit Manassas Mall. I know some people who live in Manassas so that's part of why I've visited this mall and my father, when he was living, liked to bring the family to visit this mall every once in a while to "mix it up" because visiting Potomac Mills Mall can be boring after many years. I grew up in Woodbridge and have lived there for 44 years (yes, almost 50 years) due to a rare genetic disorder, plus I have other serious health issues so I like to Get Out of Woodbridge to see people I know or to go on day trips etc. Anyway, recently I was there visiting someone I know who lives there and even though this is TMI, he was toxic so I had to leave and chill at this mall the other day. Right now I don't use credit or debit cards (at the moment,) and I got a new phone recently but due to my disability (learning issues,) it's not totally set up. I haven't used the bus in ages due to my health so it was getting late and I think at the time I missed the bus to leave, so I was able to get Richie (he works near Walmart at a little thing in the middle of "walk way". I forgot what he sells and he did call the security office or a security person and ask them if they were able to get me an Uber (I had cash to pay for it.) They weren't able to so he was willing and I did pay him back! So I do Thank Richie (rides a skate board, dark hair, around 5'10 etc) for his kindness. I will admit I was a little offended when he thought it was weird that I was in Manassas when I live in Woodbridge. I look like a "young woman" to people but I'm way older and been through a lot. I just dont appear that way so anyone I knew in Woodbridge growing up, moved away and I've known many people in the course of my lifetime who most of them live outside of Woodbridge, if not in other states (like relatives and old aquaintances and friends) and even aquantainces/friends in other countries... not many but still. I like day trips also that get me out of my own city and I've traveled to other states in the past. I've been to three other countries including ones that make me look "random" and "foreign" but I have a right to. I'm not going to stay in Woodbridge because I look like a young woman. I usually think that's the reason people think it's strange that I'd ever leave for any reason. My father passed away two years ago and I went to the UK since my grandmother was English-American and I like bands and musicians from there in general. I plan on going back even though people would find it odd for me to do so. I do me and I just think people need to be Way more openminded about traveling and day trips etc. Anyway, I know this was random but that's what I...
Read moreAlthough the mall is under a glorious expansion. I shall rate it before the expansion. I shall change the review once the expansion and improvements are completed.
I have visited this mall tons of time since it's close to my area. The logo really needs improvement, and the gates too. The windows everywhere is not appealing to my eyes and maybe some other human eyes. The Food Court has nice employees and always help you. They are kind and does everything to serve you; However, the food is not always the highest quality you can have. I once had food poisoning from the food and had to stay in my house for 2 days.
The children's area is great, but could be wider. The staff on all the other stores are great, but there are trash everywhere on the floor sometimes. The anchor stores like Macy's and Walmart are the primary culprit. Walmart is such a slop. You see kids crying and messing around, you see customers raging, you pretty much see any negative things you see on Walmart (especially on Black Friday).
Macy's, although with the most charming employees, the employees are annoying at times. Sometimes, real annoying. So annoying that you might need to slowly walk away from the store. The store is not appealing too. There are no decorations or anything. It's pretty much like an abandoned store. There are also slop everywhere too.
Some other stores, like American Eagle, IHOP, and Best Buy mobile, are terrific stores. They have great service, and are always with you. Although my orders did get mixed up at IHOP when I was having breakfast, they gladly helped me out. It seems as though the mall stores are mixed.
Back to focusing on the layout of the mall. There are no decorations, like Macy's, only the Food Court gets all of the decorations and plants. It feels very empty, even though there are a stampede of people walking past you. There is a clock, but it feels like it's been put straight at an empty spot anywhere.
This has great potential, but not executed properly. I hope the expansion makes a turn quickly, because this mall is really dull.
Overall, I would rate it 2/5 stars due to the slop, lack of decorations, and the anchor...
