Disappointing Experience with [Master Vacation Homes] AKA Rodrigo
I regret to recount my recent experience with Master Vacation Homes AKA Rodrigo, which unfortunately fell far short of expectations. My aim in sharing this review is to provide constructive feedback and advise potential renters accordingly. Firstly, this is a company, not the nice person whose bio is attached here. Each encounter with this company came from a different individual, they did not read through my previous complaints, the customer service was poor and unprofessional. Upon arrival at the rental property, we encountered a significant discrepancy between the advertised amenities and the actual condition of the facilities. Notably, the promised heated pool, a KEY feature of our selection, failed to meet expectations. Despite having paid additional fees for pool heating, the water temperature, which was pleasantly warm the first evening. Was cold the next morning and remained unsuitably cold throughout the remainder of our 4 day stay. The filtration system was leaking severely causing the water level to drop significantly below the skimmer basket. With the water level low and continuing to drop, there was no circulation and therefore no heat. I added the hose to the pool early on Friday morning (day 3) fearing the pump would burn out, still running and leaking. The hose rain for 6 hours before the water level was corrected. (ALL NEW WATER WAS FREEZING COLD) Subsequent attempts to seek recourse and obtain a refund for the unfulfilled service were met with resistance from 5 different individuals, who stated that the technician, who never entered the enclosure and we had to communicate with via Google translate stated that the pool temperature was 81 degrees. He read this temperature on the water surface, through the enclosure with an infrared gun used for air temperature, which according to my research is the incorrect way to read water temperature. Especially given that the hose had been refilling the pool for roughly 5 hours. Regrettably, their response lacked accountability and failed to address our legitimate concerns. They charged $140 to heat the pool, I asked for a refund of $112 as we did use the heated pool 1 night, a completely fair and honorable request.
Furthermore, the overall cleanliness fell below the standards expected of a reputable vacation rental, see attached photos of downstairs bathtub. If someone was cleaning the tub, the large swath of mold would have been evident. The company says that since I did not bring this up prior to the pool incident that it is not a valid complaint. I actually do not believe I should have to send photos of the tub so that they can waste my vacation waiting on someone to rectify the problem.
In addition, there was a broken sprinkler head in front of the home, which was shooting water, cannon style onto my vehicle. When I reported to concern, I was sent the resort phone number. Once again poor customer service, expecting me to do their job. In summation, my experience with Master Vacation Homes AKA RODRIGO was marred by inadequate customer service and a failure to deliver on promised amenities. I implore the management to reconsider their approach to guest satisfaction and take proactive measures to address the issues highlighted herein. As a discerning traveler, I advise prospective renters to exercise caution and explore alternative options that prioritize customer service excellence and uphold advertised standards. As for property owners, if your unit is unoccupied you may want to review how they treat...
Read moreMy rental home experience at this location through VRBO was the worst experience I have ever had, and it almost ruined our first family vacation. Not only was the home extremely dirty and gross, but it was also unsafe for my 1.5 year old child. The carpeted floors were stained and filthy, the walls were covered in dirt and crayon marks, the laminated floors were dirty, the couches were stained yellow, the chest of drawer drawers were gross, the dishwasher was broken and dirty, and the upstairs balcony spirals were over 7” apart (code requires 4”). If it weren’t for my mother noticing, my son would have fallen through to the first floor, almost certainly to his death, or at the least severe injury. When I called the home management company (Master Vacation Homes) regarding my concerns, they blew off my concerns and offered to send a carpet cleaner at the most. When I pointed out that our entire day would be ruined due to the inconvenience of the situation, they offered for me to be able to use the barbecue for free; nothing comparable to the inconvenience of having the entire home carpet cleaned while we were staying there. I was on the phone between the management company and VRBO virtually the entire day, fighting to get these issues resolved and be monetarily compensated for our inconveniences. I am a mother who was genuinely concerned for the health and safety of her young son playing and living in filth. A carpet cleaner was sent – he was very nice – but he was instructed to do the bare minimum. After having the carpets clean, mud continued to seep through and stain my socks. The next day we decided to leave as soon as possible. My only positive remark out of this situation is that the management company agreed to refund the remainder of our trip. I write this review to save others from renting an absolutely disgusting home with horrible customer service. I am also a concerned mother watching out for other mothers and their children. Pictures included are a small sampling...
Read moreWe arrived to an overwhelming stench of sewage, poorly masked by cheap Airwick plug-ins. To make matters worse, major construction was taking place directly behind the house—something that was conveniently left out of the listing. Imagine waking up on vacation to deafening noise from 7 AM to 5 PM, every single day, making the outdoor space (including the pool we paid extra to heat) completely unusable.
Speaking of extra charges, they padlocked the BBQ and charged us to use it, only for us to find it coated in filth, char, and old food, with no BBQ brush provided to clean it. And if that wasn’t bad enough, the pool area wasn’t just ruined by construction noise—it was downright creepy. Workers were staring into our yard, making us feel completely uncomfortable.
One morning, we thought we could finally enjoy the pool during a rare quiet moment—until a random man walked straight into our yard without warning, scaring all of us, just to dump chlorine into the water and tell us “no swimming for an hour.”
If that wasn’t bad enough, the house itself was falling apart. There were squirrels literally living inside the walls, scratching and running around in the ceiling to the point where one of the bedrooms was completely unusable because of the noise. When we told the host, their response? “Squirrels are a part of Florida’s wildlife.”
To top it off, bathroom sinks clogged when trying to use them. It felt like we were staying in a rundown, neglected property that cost thousands for 5 nights….
We stayed in ChampionsGate on Rolling Fairway—if you’re even thinking of booking this place, DON’T. Save yourself the frustration, disappointment, and money. This place is a disaster. Normally my reviews are all positive but this was disaster after disaster and when bringing it up to our host multiple times he just said there’s nothing...
