I had just come in from a red eye flight, Denver to Orlando. With barely any sleep and getting to the resort at 9am, I was ready for some relaxation. Thankfully, even though we couldn't check into our room until 3pm, they let us use the pool and I was able to make an appointment at the spa same day, 2 hours from the time I stopped by the spa's front desk.
The spa was very beautiful and clean. The employees were welcoming. The girl who did my gel manicure and pedicure was friendly and talkative. She took an interest into my life and my vacation plans.
The reason for my lower rating (which I hate to do because they were so nice), is the actual manicure and pedicure. She made a lot of comments about my ingrown toenails, which I've had my whole life and do my best to keep them at bay. It was a very quick job of it and the pedicure does look fine. She also made a lot of comments about how "Asian people at the other salons don't know what they are doing."
With my manicure, she continued to make comments about how it was clear I didn't take care of myself. I haven't worn polish in a long time to let my nails heal and yes, I had a few hang nails, but honestly it's not like my nails were horrendous. The nail job was very quick and as you can see in the pictures, none of my nails were fully covered in the gel polish. She did push my cuticles back but then didn't paint all the way up to the cuticle.
There were no additional add-ons to the pedicure. No callus removal or massage or hot stone or towel.
I am grateful for the relaxing atmosphere and that there was a spa on the resort. I know I don't get my nails done every week because I can't afford that, but it's not like I don't take care of myself. I also highly respect the Asian community and have lots of great manicures and pedicures from Asian-owned...
Read moreI went here expecting a high - mid end spa experience based off of the price points. I purchased the Emmy package which included a massage, facial, manicure, pedicure and lunch for $276. The massage was fine, but the room looked more like a doctor's office than a spa, bad music included. The facial consisted of a face wash, steam, and then the therapist proceeded to painfully extract my pores with her fingers. The lunch provided was from Fridays, styrofoam box and all. The manicure and pedicure experience was on par with a strip mall nail salon. For the price, I expected that my nails would at least be evenly coated in polish. To top it all off, my back and neck were coated with black flecks from the pedicure chair. The one good thing this place does have is a fantastic...
Read moreI would give them a zero but that isn't an option. I left a voice mail 24 hours ago and another 3 hours ago to schedule services. Still no return call. Physically, went to the spa. The 2 people behind the reception desk, were totally disconnected. I tried to schedule services for tomorrow. However, before I left the counter, I decided not to schedule the services. I explained that I would not be scheduling and why I was not scheduling. The receptionist responded, see you tomorrow at 11:15. No, i just explained why not. No I will not be seeing you tomorrow, I am not making an appointment. I immediately, went to front desk to confirm that I had not scheduled any services and want to make certain that charges would not be applied to my account. Very...
