Absolutely beautiful venue and the acoustics were excellent. Unfortunately I do have a couple complaints which prevents me from giving it five stars and it would be something easy for them to fix. 1- For whatever reason, they decided to work with Ticketmaster which I don't need to explain the complaints of fees. This alone would have given them a one-star rating had the rest not been so good. If you want to avoid those fees, they do allow you to buy the tickets at their box office which reduces the fees to a minimum. He would be nice if they would let people know. 2- lines at the internal bars are ridiculously long. Maybe they just can't hire help? One person attending the bar is not enough. On a positive note, they exclusively serve Tahoe Blue Vodka which is an excellent vodka! If you have not tried it, you need to. 3- I am not sure who the nitwit was who ordered the seats with armrest drink holders. The holders are so shallow, you are guaranteed to knock over your drink. Three people in front of us spilled their drinks on themselves. They are more like indentations or shallow ashtrays, than drink holders. That was really a bad blunder!
Be forewarned, they have a clear bag policy which I guess is the norm now in this day and age. Also note there is no parking at the actual facility but Lake Tahoe does offer free transportation, just make sure they are still running when you get out of the event. Parking at the nearby casinos are a rip off as they gouge their prices to park. Please do not support them.
Aside from the three complaints above, the rest of the venue is...
Read morePit Bull, Friday Sept. 29th. The Tahoe Blue Event Center did a HORRIBLE job for their first concert. They were not prepared for the number of patrons to enter the venue and they did not have any Ushers or Security inside the venue. There were no lines set up at the doors, so people just crowded the doors and pushed their way in. Also, they never checked anyone who set of the metal detector or even purses as it said. They door were supposed to open at 7pm but did not until 7:20pm and after about 45 minutes in line they sent a staffer out as they were opening another set of doors. Except this kid just took people from the back of the line and cut them in front of everyone that had been waiting. This just caused everyone to just cut the line and crowed the doors. I paid an absorbate amount of money for 2 aisle floor seats close to the stage only to have everyone from the cheap seats invade the floor aisleways. And turned it into a general admission standing room only mosh pit. Instead of enjoying Pit Bull we were fending off drunk people from bumping into us and spilling their drinks on us as well as we were no longer able to see the stage because they blocked the view. Had the Tahoe Blue Event Center had either Security or Usher they could have kept people who did not have floor seats out of the area, and everyone could have enjoyed...
Read moreI recently attended a concert at the Tahoe Blue Event Center, and while the venue itself is impressive and modern, the sound experience left a lot to be desired. The opening band actually sounded quite good, with a decent balance and clarity throughout the room. It gave me hope for a great night of music. However, once The Avett Brothers took the stage, everything changed. The sound quality plummeted. From where I was standing (in the center of the venue "PIT"), the mix was muddy, vocals were hard to make out, and overall it just felt flat and unbalanced. After some frustration, I moved over toward the right-side speaker area, and that’s where things improved noticeably. It seemed like the sound engineer was stationed over there, which might explain why that side had the only clean, full sound. Unfortunately, that meant anyone not standing near that zone had a compromised experience. A venue like this should be designed and staffed to provide a consistently great audio experience throughout the space—not just in one corner. For future shows, I hope they evaluate their FOH sound placement and mixing approach so everyone can enjoy the performance as it’s meant...
