Be prepared to feel like royalty when you step into Fridays. This was about our fourth time there and always the same level of excellent service and attention to detail. Every item I have ordered throughout the years have been remarkably delicious. The chef has his own specials in which he puts ingredients together that one might never think of and the results are amazing. This time I only ordered appetizers instead of an entree. Soup, chef specialty salad, and crab/shrimp cake. My friend ordered the red snapper and a side of asparagus. We each tried a little bit of everything on the table. Martin, the assistant waiterš¤ was a darling. So so sweet and accommodating. He offered to take our pictures at sunset. James, our waiter, was very professional, classy, and personable. We live in NC and will be back to Friday's in 6 months. A funny note, my friend is a meat and potato loving farmer and he LOVES the food here. The waiter gave him a glass of tea and he about spit it out because where he comes from is nothing but sweet tea. A little smatevia I kind of helpedš Oh, pictures show: Crab/shrimp cake (I can't even describe its deliciousness), red snapper ( have never had this so did not know what to compare it to but it was awesome. Not real fishy and had kind of a chutney spread on it. So so very good), asparagus with a light butter, lemon sauce, French onion soup, house salad (amazing!!!!), chef specialty salad had mozzarella balls, red onion, cooled apple slices, zucchini....mouth watering). The red snapper was a large piece and the salads were huge. I know some of the entrees appear small on some of the pictures you see on the reviews but everything is so rich that you qui lly get filled up. I really wanted some of the baked Alaska but I could not put another bite in my mouth I was so stuffed. At the time I didn't think we ordered too much but I had almost 3/4 of all of french onion soup left and half of the crab cake left when we were finished. We had it to go but of course no microwave in room so guess we will running the French onion through the coffee makerš. Oh, grand total $155 without tip. Tipped waiter and assistant separately. Pictures do not seem to be coming through but will try...
Ā Ā Ā Read more(Revised review. Friday Station reached out to me and offered to make things right. I am very happy that a company like Caesar's would offer this kind of outreach and customer service. I will give Friday Station another try.)
Amazing view, great service. Food not so much⦠We went to Friday station for a special occasion - three of us. As always, the view is unparalleled. As usual, the service was top notch - friendly waiter, timely food delivery, water never empty. The food was sub par, very disappointing given the high prices. Youāre paying for the view. First the bread, described as sourdough and country rye. I love sourdough and rye bread, but it was not sour nor did it taste like rye. Basically white bread and not even warm. Next the caesar salad. Given we were dining at a Caesarās resort, you would expect excellence here. The dressing tasted like bottled, no shaved parmesan, no anchovies. My wife ordered the $70 New York, cooked medium. Again, for a steakhouse you would expect cooked just right, served hot, tender and juicy. It was none of these, but rather tough, lukewarm, overcooked and dry. I ordered the lamb chop special. It also arrived just warm. The meat was tender and tasty but the gravy was very bland. The side of potatoes, artichoke hearts, kalamata olives and tomatoes was a strange mix of flavors, barely warm with no sauce and fell flat for me. We shared a $20 baked potato with cheese, which was clearly out of a bag of cheese, and the potato was not hot enough to melt butter much less cheese. So, why didnāt we complain? We went for a celebration and a pleasant dining experience. I canāt fathom asking my wife to watch us eat while she waits, and then us watching her eat after we finish. It just ruins the whole thing. Total with tip was $480, a pretty high price for the view. We...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy spouse and I ate here for our anniversary, ordering the fixed price menu at about $100 per person. We chose the shrimp appetizer, the Caesar salad, the ribeye in wine merchants mushroom sauce, and chocolate cake. Our views were terrific looking out on the lake and mountains. Our service was very good. Our food however was a mixed bag.
The fresh bread was nice, the shrimp appetizer was cooked to perfection. The Caesar salad, a simple dish, was pretty tasteless. The main course, the ribeye, was a very thin and a very very exceptionally fatty cut, more so than we have ever been served, and we eat a lot of steak. My husband cut off probably a 6"x6" portion of fat, altogether and mine was similar. The steak was tender but didn't have a lot of flavor, being too thin to get a good char, but the wine merchants sauce saved the day. The fingerling potatoes and Brussels sprouts were fine and plain. The chocolate cake was somewhat dry. The coffee wasnt very good quality either. No wines were available for less than $25/glass which was disappointing as well.
While we appreciated the variety the fixed price menu provided (could have chosen other things), we walked out of there with a bill of $275 and feeling like the meal did not measure up to that pricepoint. At this pricepoint, it needs to rival Capital Grille, The Palm, and Ruth's Chris and it did not.
If it weren't for the shrimp and the great service, I would have rated this a 3. I am being very generous with a 4. I hope my review will drive some...
