We first tried Sapori in 2023 when visiting from Maui, HI and fell in love with the amazing, delicious and authentic Italian food and instantly new this would be a "Go-To" for us on EVERY visit to South Lake Tahoe, not just as a visitor to Harrah's or Harvey's. TRULY some of the best Italian food I've tasted, and in all honesty, I will rate above ALL other restaurants at Harrahs Harvey's. Why? Authentic flavorful food! Impeccable service. No inflated social media prices. The SAME if not better lake views than every other restaurant both resorts. Not so crowded, beautiful space, views. No "fluff-n-stuff" from others, i won't mention. I would take my parents here. I would celebrate special occasions here. The FOOD IS PHENOMENALLY simple, yet authentic, and if you think NO on Italian because it's filling?.... I dare you to try their version of lasagna! MIND BLOWING. EVERY DISH we've tried 10+
I recommend almost everything, and "almost" is only given because I've only been there 5 times (I live in Maui) and have not yet tried the whole menu. That being said... omgosh I recommend IT ALL. The one and only suggested improvement is to the appetizer artichoke.... it was tasty; however, I was hoping for the traditional ITALIAN deep fried choke versus the laborious marinated wedges, which I'm not sure weren't Pre-prepped/marinated? Oops. The only Oops I've found in 5 visits. We literally loved our food so much that we ended up swapping samples amongst 3 neighbor tables and made some good friends in the process. All of us concurred 10+ Heres my HOPE. I live in Maui, and would LOVE this restaurant in my neighborhood!
I HOPE locals support this place through ALL seasons. You will truly miss this restaurant! In closing.... we've had STELLAR, literally STELLAR service, matched by NOT A SINGLE RESTAURANT in Tahoe EVERY SINGLE VISIT. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT MISS THIS RESTAURANT!!!!
PS... thanks to Scott for you're filling in tonight. You did a STELLAR job!
GOOGLE... come ON! UPDATE your pics! NO BETTER VIEW TAHOE!

Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst off let me just say this is my first bad review that Iāve ever written and Iām not happy that Iām having to do it! My husband ordered a steak and I ordered fettuccine Alfredo. The waiter told me that they didnāt have grilled chicken so he said that he would bring me the breaded chicken and I said that was fine. Weāll these two dry huge flat chicken breast were brought with noodles with no sauce. So I asked him if I could have some sauce and he said it would take a while because the sauce is individually made for each meal. Minutes later he brought me a bowl with Alfredo sauce over noodles. It was not good at all. The chicken tasted like cardboard. Then came the worst part.. My husband ordered a 14 ounce New York rare steak and not only did it come out way over cooked it was very dry burnt tasting and sour. I personally tried it because he wanted to make sure it didnāt taste right. It tasted horrible. The appetizer (The mozzarella salad dish) was horrible too. The best thing there was the bread and water. When the waiter asked how everything was I told him his steak was terrible.. my poor husband tried hard to eat some and not complain. The waiter said you ate enough to where we may not be able to do anything but Iāll ask my boss if we could give you a credit. The waiter came back giving us a 160 bill with no explanation on what resolution they had. What a disappointment. We did see them turning people away and there were tons of tables available. Staff was very limited. This was the biggest disappointment on any meal we have ever had. With 2 people paying 160 plus tax you should get decent food and better service. Place looks clean and fancy but itās not. The fast food Asian Kitchen in the food court was wayyyyy better then this! 26 bucks for 2 people and five star service! If I could do a no star review this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I got food to go from Sapori tonight, and we were very impressed by both the service and the dishes.
We got the Spaghettoni, Linguine, Lasagna and a Salad.
All three of the pasta dishes were far better than we were expecting, especially from a location that used to be the Forrest Buffet.
Not being able to find a menu, hours or any information really threw us, so we thought we were really rolling the dice.
The quality of the food and service even encouraged me to add the restaurant to Google maps, as well as photos and hours.
The clams in the linguine were cooked perfectly, the sauce for them was delicious.
The lasagna was delicious with a really fantastic braised sauce.
The Spaghettoni was perfectly seasoned and hearty.
The bread was also incredibly delicious.
The staff was outstanding as well, all three employees I encountered or asked questions of were quick, friendly and courteous.
We would definitely come here again, hopefully to dine on next time.
I wish we had taken photos of the food, but we attacked it pretty quickly.
It's worth noting that all of the dishes were plated incredibly well, especially for to go food. We've been getting so much food to go where we can't understand why they would use some of the containers they do, and everything is packed half hazardous. These dishes were all packed and plated with care.
It was a much better take out dining experience than we've had almost...
