I hate to complain but this restaurant was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever received. Management did not provide information about how my large party would be split up, which you would assume for booking with a restaurant and explaining its for an engagement/birthday, and when we showed up he decided to reprimand ME for him not providing that information ahead of time. Instead of apologizing and attempting to find any solutions, he provided multiple FALSE excuses to why he couldn't accommodate my request of a single table. One excuse was due to COVID but he also said they couldn't accommodate 17 people due to covid (which I was fine with) and then switched that to saying they COULD accommodate 17 people on a single reservation. Confusing, right? After going back and forth, no apology offered and his response of "okay what do you want me to do because I have customers and a restaurant to run" (Nice to say that to a customer that's about to spend over 2k at your establishment), I suggested putting the tables together (simple idea they could have came up with) and instead of ending our conversation politely he scoffed and threw me over to talk to someone else on the phone. When I attempted to speak with him in person (requested we talk in private but he only pulled me to the side) and get him to understand my frustration and how it put stress on my night, he decided to embarrass me in front of all the other customers and staff. There was so much more issues we had that night but to sum it up,
Christian is a horrible manager and does not know the definition of customer service! Needs to be retrained or let go! I truly hope the owner of this place, whether thats management of the hotel or the establishment, look into this because I've never felt treated like scum or unwelcome from a restaurant before this experience.
My frustration could have been met with listening and a simple apology but instead he decided to roll his eyes and make me cry with his hurtful words and shrugging me off. Wish I would've went with another restaurant option and I will be sure to do...
Read moreI had a party of 7 and we decided to dine at this establishment for my 31st birthday. A few things to note, the waiter was great, but the food took over an hour and 20 minutes to be brought to our table. After my friends and I finished our meals my brother asked the restaurant staff if they provide a military discount, and the staff said yes immediately. We received the check which included the 20% gratuity. We understand with a large party like ours this is common.
The problem that we saw immediately is the staff wrote in a $205 tip on the check, including total, and signed for it. Keep in mind the 20% gratuity is already included. I calmly went up to the host or manager, whom I believe was named Monica and asked why someone from her staff wrote in their own tip when gratuity was already included. Monica then proceeded to tell me that they didn't have to include the military discount and were just being nice, therefore she said they included the tip to balance the discount.
I responded stating there's already a 20% gratuity included and that she wanted almost a 40% tip, considering the bill was just above $1000.
Monica began yelling loudly in my face restating everything and even called me cheap. I was very calm the entire time and was honestly blown away that she was yelling at me, due to her being in the customer service industry and because it was my birthday nonetheless.
My friends and I stated we were not paying a 40% tip and due to her yelling in my face we didn't feel more should be said. We signed and paid for the correct amount that we were supposed to pay. Once we left the restaurant Monica proceeded to follow us and yelled at security for them to kick us out of the casino. I'm honestly hurt that someone like this would even act this way towards people, especially on their birthday. There's a way to communicate, and certainly this was not handled properly.
I would never suggest going to this place if you are in Tahoe. There are far better restaurants that will treat you...
Read moreRarely do I ever give out a 5 star rating on the first go around at any restaurant, so when I actually do, folks you want to pay close attention. My wife and I went in to Ciera Steak & Chophouse expecting your typical style steak house. 1st mistake on our part, I felt like I should of gone and changed into a suit, and my wife had only dreamt of being taken to a place so fancy. Steve our server made us feel right at home though. I do not drink but my wife had one of their Merlots and was in love with it. Alejandro, our secondary server helped my wife feel more like she did belong there. First most of the tables there are more like private dining areas with heavy curtains that help muffle any noise, but it's a cool temperature place. We started off with Salads her having the wedge with crumbled cheddar and bacon, I had the grilled avocado salad and for that bit if deliciousness I gave up my peppered vinaigrette dressing recipe. Then our main course was the chataubei for two. Both my wife and I looked at each other and a fully admitted that our favorite steakhouse had been dethroned from their place as number one. For that meal I ended up giving them my Honey Mustard Marinade and my Spicey Honey Marinade the latter having never been given out to anyone ever before. And the price of the excellent service and food was comparable to what we've been charged at Ruby River in Reno. Ciera Steak and Chophouse up at Montbleu at Stateline NV At lake Tahoe is a must go to well worth it. Steve and Alejandro thank you for the excellent service and to the chefs thank you for the perfectly...
