My husband and I flew into Reno for a quick ski weekend. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. Pros: -Close to the gondola and village. It’s not ski in/out, but less than a 2 minute walk. -Ski storage, and the staff running it are very friendly. -Large rooms -Relatively clean -South Tahoe Airliner shuttle drops and picks up right next door. Very convenient and no rental car is needed at this location. -Front desk manager at was attentive and addressed our concerns to the best of her abilities. The woman working in the late evenings was also very nice. Cons: -Housekeeping could use some work. We ran into several housekeeping issues (minor but still affected our stay). Two days we did not receive any sort of housekeeping and ran out of toilet paper, which was obviously inconvenient. The front desk scheduled us for a full clean the next day, and all the housekeeper did was leave clean towels folded on the toilet. -Rooms smell a little stuffy/dingy. Had to air out the room by opening the window. -Our Mountain View room that I booked and confirmed several times for the view, was a view of the roof of the building next door and mountains that were very far away (photo attached). Just something to be aware of if you’re expecting a view of the slopes. -Bell hops saw us struggling with our luggage, and no offer to assist with bags to get to our room. -The front desk manager is very helpful/friendly. However, we found Tiffany to be a bit abrasive. When I asked for a print out of the fees we were being charged at check in (resort fee and deposit) she told me it wasn’t possible yet the manager was easily able to print one out. Having it printed out could have easily cleared up much of our confusion at check in. -The resort fee is quite expensive for the amenities provided. And, if they plan to charge such a resort fee, then I expect resort level service (assistance with bags, rooms freshened up daily etc.) Ultimately, we would return to Margaritaville Tahoe. We know what to expect now and will set ourselves up with appropriate expectations. For the cost, you really can’t beat it. As this is a relatively new hotel, once they work out the kinks, it will be a fabulous stay in South Lake Tahoe.

Do NOT stay here until after construction! We've stayed here several times and have had great experiences so I was shocked when we walked in to complete unfinished renovations. The only communication I received about this was a tiny link I completely ignored at the bottom of my CONFIRMATION email after booking my July trip in May. There was nothing on the booking website stating these extensive renovations. My small kids were devastated the turtle pond was gone. I looked at the reviews this morning and it confirms theres definitely a communication issue. It's very dusty. Only 2 elevators are working making for long waits to get where we want to go. The complimentary happy hour that's supposed to make up for all of this has pathetic selections. The buffet is gone there is only a "grab and go breakfast" and drinks are the only complimentary part of the breakfast. I understand it's probably going to be fantastic once it's finished but this trip did not meet our expectations whatsoever. To add the power goes out... 15 then 20 minutes goes by with zero communication so I head downstairs. No auto text or email. Downstairs the 2 people working the desk have no clue about proper procedures in an event like this. There's no AC. No TV. I took the stairs nearest me and it brought me outside. When I went back inside I asked about stair access and I was told "it's ok the elevator is on a generator." I'm sorry but my inkling of claustrophobia that's already through the roof because of my stagnant hotel room is not going to be on an elevator at the moment. The only update I received was from some stranger that said her daughter saw on tik tok someone hit an electrical pole near Marriott. The "Good neighbor policy" went out the door listening to idiots screaming in the atrium all night. Power returned at 1:40am. AC did not come back on until 2:40am. Worst stay at a hotel ever. I contacted management and received a canned response just like others have stated. Harrahs or the Marriott seem like better options.

We enjoyed our stay at Margaritaville up until checkout. Due to your hotel's disregard for vehicle safety, we will not be returning. My car, a 2022 Tiguan that I have owned for two years, has been through many travels without issue—until it was placed in your valet’s care. The first two nights we self-parked. We didn’t get so lucky on the last night (there’s only about 10 spots for the whole hotel), so we had to use valet. At some point during this night, my vehicle was damaged. The gas access cover was found by staff in the stall where they had it parked. This sort of damage does not happen without force, and I have family members who are car technicians and engineers who confirmed this, including the dealership. The valet’s insurance company made up a narrative that this piece on my car make and model was known to be difficult to open, therefore this was not their fault. Please tell me, why would the valet be trying to open up my gas to begin with? Secondly, the cover is not hard to open. It only opens when the car is unlocked which tells me someone attempted to open it while the car was locked, thus breaking it off in the process. Regardless, the valet supervisor, who attended us on the day of the incident warned us that their insurance would likely make up a narrative to say that this car part was old or defective. In fact, he stated that they have a pattern of doing such. Since the insurance company refuses to take responsibility for this instance, I now have to pay $100 to replace the part, another $100+ to have it painted, and another X amount of money to have it installed. I am extremely frustrated with this experience and will not return to Margaritaville as a result. If you are not going to have enough self-parking spots to accommodate guests, at least make your valet safe and responsible. All in all, the stay would be fine if you don’t have a vehicle.

The location of this hotel is really good. I wish the service was as good as the location. I booked a room through booking.com. It gave me an out the door price including the resort fee (resort fee is a scam in my opinion) when I arrived at the hotel it was about $150 more that stated on booking.com. The front desk person stated that it was not pre paid so I was out of luck. That really did not sit well with me so the next day I decided to go down and talk with the front desk where I was greeted by a nice woman and a man wearing a COOKIES T-shirt...which is known as a marijuana brand. At a so called "luxury" hotel where you are charged a lot of money to stay I have a front desk person wearing a T-shirt that is representing a marijuana brand...Not professional for this type of hotel. Anyway, this is the gentleman that stood behind the counter while I asked the women about the booking.com issue. As I was explaining the man in the T-shirt kept say this on repeat "It was booked through booking" I can only say that this is the only answer he had..."It was booked through booking"..While I was trying to get my point across, two other guests came to the counter. The man in the T-shirt starts to address them instead of me and the women is left there with a lost look on her face as and looks down to her computer. I then ask her "Are you helping me now"? No answer...."Excuse me" I say. "Are you helping me now"? which she replies "Yes, I am helping you." In the mean time the man in the T-shirt is yelling at the two guests that had approached after me. Telling them to "Stop talking over me" and just being extremely rude while his voice is raised so everyone In the very large area could hear.

I have never been to a hotel where the front desk people wearing T-shirts are yelling at guests who pay tons of money to stay at your location. Crazy

Anyways, I got the same answer from her, that the Resort fees where not included and that was the difference. That is not actually right because I have booking.com pictures, receipts and other proof that it was all included.

I just went to my room pissed off really but just wanted to have a good time with my family so I let it go.

The next day we waited for our valet which is $29 a night,,,No other options. And it was a mad house...Again, no real hospitality just another day of dealing with people on vacation I guess. When we returned we were greeted by a tall black gentleman who was extremely nice and talkative...Very cool dude. Need about 10 more of those people at this hotel.

We returned to our room around 4pm after being on a family adventure and our room had not been touched, no cleaning no bed making no nothing. I decided to let it go AGAIN...my boys were tired so they took naps on the bed only to have a knock on our door about 4:30 or so,,,,It was housekeeping.

Housekeeping at 430pm....I don't care if you are short handed or whatever excuse you have,,,Get the man in the T-shirt up to clean rooms...This is a poor excuse for a luxury hotel.

The grounds are kept pretty clean, The pool is indoors and if you like the smell of chlorine then that is the place for you. I really wish I had chosen somewhere else to stay, but the booking.com price was to good to pass up, only to be baited and switched apparently. I would not stay here again as you will be fleeced. Oh, and if you want a small Red Bull that will be $7.50.

Before I posted this I sent an email to the manager of this Tahoe Location and received no response after 10+ days

Still no response from anyone as I see multiple people have been...

I feel like I was forced to write this negative review which sucks because we truly had a great time while at the resort. The suites were wonderful and very spacious, everything was super clean, the atrium was on-theme and we enjoyed the bar & live music. One issue with the main bar though - one bartender was definitely better than the other who looked like he was still learning and did not make very good drinks. Still minor though. The BIG issue was the shady overcharges and lack of customer service which really ruined the overall experience. As other reviews have mentioned, definitely check your credit card statements since they likely over charged you. I suspect they do this quite often and count on people not noticing. ||I booked 2 rooms and upon booking, was charged over $200 per room for the deposit. When we checked in, I was charged the full amount AGAIN plus extra for the incidentals and when I noticed that on my credit card app, I went down to the lobby to show the overcharge to the ladies working at the front desk and was told it was just the incidental deposit and it would be refunded a few days after check-out. Upon check-out, that was never taken out. So I was charged the FULL amount again + the $206 initial deposit which should have been taken out. Then issue #2 was that we booked with $50 daily food & beverage credit which was never taken out of the bill either and we were charged for the Come Monday breakfast buffet. So overall I was overcharged by over $500 - not a small amount! ||Then all the back & forth started - my first email was sent to reservations@ on May 19th and never heard back. On May 21st, I called the main phone number and the lady that answered (really regret not catching her name) basically told me, yes she'd seen my email but had a lot more urgent things on her list before she was planning to get back to me. GREAT customer service...so she tried to loop me around and forwarded me to the finance department and the phone rang & rang and nobody answered. Then I called the main number again and the same lady agreed to send an email to the finance person whose name is Apple - and of course never heard back from Apple. Then FINALLY heard back on May 22 from someone named Kimberly who acknowledged the issue with the overcharge of over $200 per room so they refunded it but was told they're still looking into the food & beverage credit issue. Then...crickets again until I followed up on May 30th and FINALLY on May 31st the remaining money from the food & beverage credit was refunded to my credit card. So the good news is, I did get all the overcharges resolved after 2 weeks of effort. But the amount of time, back & forth, and lack of customer service was ridiculous and it's a shame since I'd love to stay at the resort again but don't want to deal with this nightmare again. And of course, no compensation was offered for the hassle. I'd recommend making sure you get a paper copy of your final bill, comparing it to your credit card charges, and resolving while you are still...

Please do not stay here until construction is done!

My recent stay at The Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel was nothing short of a nightmare, and I cannot emphasize enough how utterly disappointed and dissatisfied I am with the entire experience. If I could give them zero stars, I would without hesitation. It was, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience of my life.

From the moment we checked in, we were greeted with overpowering cigarette smells in our room, despite our explicit request for non-smoking accommodations. They then gave us a different room that smelled exactly the same. My wife, who suffers from smoke sensitivity, experienced Migraines due to this blatant disregard for our well-being.

The breakfast service was beyond disappointing, offering only candy bars, chips, and expired canned coffee from Christmas time. As a guest paying for a reputable hotel, I expected a proper breakfast, not a low-quality assortment of snacks.

To make matters worse, our key cards malfunctioned continuously throughout our stay. We were locked out of our room on at least seven occasions, each time having to navigate through ongoing construction work and endure long wait times to get new key cards. The front desk staff consistently blamed us for the issue, despite our utmost care in handling the cards and keeping them away from electronic devices..

Speaking of construction work, it created safety hazards that were alarming and unacceptable. The construction workers handled large metal beams over guests heads without any apparent safety precautions while they wore hard hats to protect themselves. Meanwhile, guests like us were left exposed to paint fumes that masked construction workers were spraying without any protective measures for us. This blatant lack of consideration for guest safety is appalling and raises serious questions about the hotel's commitment to the well-being of its patrons.

Adding insult to injury, the limited working elevators were constantly monopolized by the construction workers, making it nearly impossible for us and other guests to move between floors in a timely manner.

Overall, my family's experience at The Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel was utterly disastrous, leaving us with nothing but regret for choosing this establishment. I strongly advise against staying here, as our vacation was ruined by the discomfort, safety risks, and substandard service we...
