The location of this hotel is really good. I wish the service was as good as the location. I booked a room through booking.com. It gave me an out the door price including the resort fee (resort fee is a scam in my opinion) when I arrived at the hotel it was about $150 more that stated on booking.com. The front desk person stated that it was not pre paid so I was out of luck. That really did not sit well with me so the next day I decided to go down and talk with the front desk where I was greeted by a nice woman and a man wearing a COOKIES T-shirt...which is known as a marijuana brand. At a so called "luxury" hotel where you are charged a lot of money to stay I have a front desk person wearing a T-shirt that is representing a marijuana brand...Not professional for this type of hotel. Anyway, this is the gentleman that stood behind the counter while I asked the women about the booking.com issue. As I was explaining the man in the T-shirt kept say this on repeat "It was booked through booking" I can only say that this is the only answer he had..."It was booked through booking"..While I was trying to get my point across, two other guests came to the counter. The man in the T-shirt starts to address them instead of me and the women is left there with a lost look on her face as and looks down to her computer. I then ask her "Are you helping me now"? No answer...."Excuse me" I say. "Are you helping me now"? which she replies "Yes, I am helping you." In the mean time the man in the T-shirt is yelling at the two guests that had approached after me. Telling them to "Stop talking over me" and just being extremely rude while his voice is raised so everyone In the very large area could hear.
I have never been to a hotel where the front desk people wearing T-shirts are yelling at guests who pay tons of money to stay at your location. Crazy
Anyways, I got the same answer from her, that the Resort fees where not included and that was the difference. That is not actually right because I have booking.com pictures, receipts and other proof that it was all included.
I just went to my room pissed off really but just wanted to have a good time with my family so I let it go.
The next day we waited for our valet which is $29 a night,,,No other options. And it was a mad house...Again, no real hospitality just another day of dealing with people on vacation I guess. When we returned we were greeted by a tall black gentleman who was extremely nice and talkative...Very cool dude. Need about 10 more of those people at this hotel.
We returned to our room around 4pm after being on a family adventure and our room had not been touched, no cleaning no bed making no nothing. I decided to let it go AGAIN...my boys were tired so they took naps on the bed only to have a knock on our door about 4:30 or so,,,,It was housekeeping.
Housekeeping at 430pm....I don't care if you are short handed or whatever excuse you have,,,Get the man in the T-shirt up to clean rooms...This is a poor excuse for a luxury hotel.
The grounds are kept pretty clean, The pool is indoors and if you like the smell of chlorine then that is the place for you. I really wish I had chosen somewhere else to stay, but the booking.com price was to good to pass up, only to be baited and switched apparently. I would not stay here again as you will be fleeced. Oh, and if you want a small Red Bull that will be $7.50.
Before I posted this I sent an email to the manager of this Tahoe Location and received no response after 10+ days
Still no response from anyone as I see multiple people have been...
Read moreI feel like I was forced to write this negative review which sucks because we truly had a great time while at the resort. The suites were wonderful and very spacious, everything was super clean, the atrium was on-theme and we enjoyed the bar & live music. One issue with the main bar though - one bartender was definitely better than the other who looked like he was still learning and did not make very good drinks. Still minor though. The BIG issue was the shady overcharges and lack of customer service which really ruined the overall experience. As other reviews have mentioned, definitely check your credit card statements since they likely over charged you. I suspect they do this quite often and count on people not noticing. ||I booked 2 rooms and upon booking, was charged over $200 per room for the deposit. When we checked in, I was charged the full amount AGAIN plus extra for the incidentals and when I noticed that on my credit card app, I went down to the lobby to show the overcharge to the ladies working at the front desk and was told it was just the incidental deposit and it would be refunded a few days after check-out. Upon check-out, that was never taken out. So I was charged the FULL amount again + the $206 initial deposit which should have been taken out. Then issue #2 was that we booked with $50 daily food & beverage credit which was never taken out of the bill either and we were charged for the Come Monday breakfast buffet. So overall I was overcharged by over $500 - not a small amount! ||Then all the back & forth started - my first email was sent to reservations@ on May 19th and never heard back. On May 21st, I called the main phone number and the lady that answered (really regret not catching her name) basically told me, yes she'd seen my email but had a lot more urgent things on her list before she was planning to get back to me. GREAT customer service...so she tried to loop me around and forwarded me to the finance department and the phone rang & rang and nobody answered. Then I called the main number again and the same lady agreed to send an email to the finance person whose name is Apple - and of course never heard back from Apple. Then FINALLY heard back on May 22 from someone named Kimberly who acknowledged the issue with the overcharge of over $200 per room so they refunded it but was told they're still looking into the food & beverage credit issue. Then...crickets again until I followed up on May 30th and FINALLY on May 31st the remaining money from the food & beverage credit was refunded to my credit card. So the good news is, I did get all the overcharges resolved after 2 weeks of effort. But the amount of time, back & forth, and lack of customer service was ridiculous and it's a shame since I'd love to stay at the resort again but don't want to deal with this nightmare again. And of course, no compensation was offered for the hassle. I'd recommend making sure you get a paper copy of your final bill, comparing it to your credit card charges, and resolving while you are still...
Read morePlease do not stay here until construction is done!
My recent stay at The Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel was nothing short of a nightmare, and I cannot emphasize enough how utterly disappointed and dissatisfied I am with the entire experience. If I could give them zero stars, I would without hesitation. It was, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience of my life.
From the moment we checked in, we were greeted with overpowering cigarette smells in our room, despite our explicit request for non-smoking accommodations. They then gave us a different room that smelled exactly the same. My wife, who suffers from smoke sensitivity, experienced Migraines due to this blatant disregard for our well-being.
The breakfast service was beyond disappointing, offering only candy bars, chips, and expired canned coffee from Christmas time. As a guest paying for a reputable hotel, I expected a proper breakfast, not a low-quality assortment of snacks.
To make matters worse, our key cards malfunctioned continuously throughout our stay. We were locked out of our room on at least seven occasions, each time having to navigate through ongoing construction work and endure long wait times to get new key cards. The front desk staff consistently blamed us for the issue, despite our utmost care in handling the cards and keeping them away from electronic devices..
Speaking of construction work, it created safety hazards that were alarming and unacceptable. The construction workers handled large metal beams over guests heads without any apparent safety precautions while they wore hard hats to protect themselves. Meanwhile, guests like us were left exposed to paint fumes that masked construction workers were spraying without any protective measures for us. This blatant lack of consideration for guest safety is appalling and raises serious questions about the hotel's commitment to the well-being of its patrons.
Adding insult to injury, the limited working elevators were constantly monopolized by the construction workers, making it nearly impossible for us and other guests to move between floors in a timely manner.
Overall, my family's experience at The Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel was utterly disastrous, leaving us with nothing but regret for choosing this establishment. I strongly advise against staying here, as our vacation was ruined by the discomfort, safety risks, and substandard service we...
