Very last minute booking, been traveling for 4 days over 4th of July holiday, and drove around Lake Tahoe on the way back to the Bay Area. But the lake was soooo freaking beautiful, we decided to stay one night on the lake, and the Alpine Inn and Spa is literally within 3 blocks walking to the lakeside beach parkz The owner was extremely nice, and helped me with details before I pushed the button and booked through a third party app, right in front of him, and also confirmed what the price would have been, had I booked directly through the motel. How nice of him was that? In fact, he allowed me to book the lowest rate available which was for one king bed, and gave me a room with 2 doubles, at no extra cost, (Mom and I had been traveling for 4 days, and we had been sharing a big king bed, so it was especially nice to have separate beds that last night of our trip). It was only a few dollars difference, but it was just another example of how nice he was. There were a few hiccups, not going to lie. However, within 2 hours I had a working remote for tv, had a clean room (first room assigned hadn’t been cleaned yet and wasn’t ready), the owner immediately issued me another room. No soap but the housekeeper provided supplies the moment I told her. The climate control worked well, the tv worked, as did the microwave and fridge. And the beds were actually very comfortable, which I was wary of, as they were very springy and a little bit squeaky. There was a pool and hot tub in good working order and I was able to relax in the hot tub until 10 pm. All in all, the total cost came in just under $100 for the night, which is unheard of anymore in Lake Tahoe, sadly, and I’ve stayed at worse for a lot more. I would absolutely recommend. There were a lot of families with kids staying there, and I’m happy to say it seemed very family friendly. Also, the Alpine is literally a one block walk, right on the same street, (on Stateline, directly across from big casino hotels) as Ceasers Republic, one short block from the main strip, and there was also a cool outdoor restaurant/pub (Basecamp, North/South brewery I believe) venue immediately next door. Cool music heard from Nextdoor, and not too loud; very cool atmosphere. I wish I’d have had more time to stay and enjoy it, honestly. It was a VERY GOOD DEAL. I definitely recommend a stay at Alpibe Inn and Spa (Spa? because there is a hot tub, I guess). You can NOT beat the location, situated between the big casino-hotel, and the lakeside park 3 blocks away. I didn’t think I could still find an off the wall place like this in Lake Tahoe anymore. I’m very happy I did, and appreciate the owner’s genuine hospitality. Thank you so much, Sir.. PS: lots of free parking onsite. Really, this inn had absolutely everything I needed, including in-room coffee the next morning, and a late checkout ♥️💕💗....
Read moreWell, I was planning on staying here but after a VERY difficult conversation with a "customer service" representative at the hotel I will have to pass. I called to ask a few simple questions and the person immediately acted annoyed and condescending. He said "you can look online mamm, OK? My manager is not here right now and I can't answer your questions.." I told him they are general questions and that he should be able to answer them real quick, then I quickly went into my questions before he could hang up...
I asked him about the private beach area that is advertised on Booking.com. He was rude again (making a grunting sound as if I was torturing him by asking a question) and went into a long rant about how it's a community beach, mamm - not private... and many hotels manage it and this and that and eventually answered my question by telling me that they provide day passes to it during your stay (which I had assumed due to other reviewers, but just wanted to make sure) I then asked if there are laundry facilities at the hotel. He said (after another grunt) "no we don't do that here, ok mamm? There is Laundry a mile away..."
I then asked about the sofa that is listed on Booking.com under the King Suite. He basically acted like I was lying about the website saying there was a sofa in the room (Commenting that "no, it doesn't say that... Where are you looking?!". I just wanted to know if if was a sofa bed or not. He very condescendingly said there is no sofa at all in the King Room - then stated that "it is a room NOT a suite" (Sorry dude!). All of this was very rushed and he got off the phone with me before I could ask my last question. Not going to stay here and I recommend you don't either. If they can't answer basic questions without being rude and dismissive I can't imagine what being a guest there would be like.
Gave 2 stars instead of one just because I didn't...
Read moreBooking this location was a mistake on my part.||Here’s the rundown. I’m not exaggerating—please trust me if the owner responds.||To start, this place is conveniently located, and parking was manageable. The motel owns adjacent buildings, so we were told to park anywhere. We managed to park near our room, which I assume was possible because it wasn’t busy. So far, so good—until we noticed the courtyard pool was shut down and covered. Even though it was late in the season, the area around the pool looked dirty and neglected. That was the first red flag. The second? The entire building is old, wooden, and clearly in need of an update.||Inside the room, it was clean, but only just acceptable. It was basic, old, and really in need of refreshing, just like the rest of the property. Since we were only there for one night, we let it slide.||However, at 11:30 p.m., we were jolted awake by an incredibly loud party in the room above us. The stairs to the second floor were just outside our door, and we heard loud stomping up and down all night. Being an old wooden structure, the noise traveled as if it was amplified—constant banging and thumping that made it impossible to sleep. It sounded like they had 10 or more people up there, and the talking and laughter were non-stop. This continued until around 3:00 a.m. when the party started to quiet down, only for us to then hear even more noise from the bed above. Only this time is was a steady thumping rhythm. At least someone was having a good time.||We would have pounded on the ceiling if we could have reached it, but given how loud and rowdy it was, we didn’t want to risk escalating things. Especially with the amount of guns everywhere.||Apologies for the lack of photos—we were just eager to leave as soon as possible.||My advice? Find somewhere else to stay. There are plenty of other options in the area. Consider...
