The price was competitive based on what we expected, but did seem quite high once we saw what we got! But you could do worse, was clean and workable.

This is a NO FRONT DESK online only management, and you are given a DOOR CODE vs a key, and the first attempt (via text) to get that door code was empty.

The management IS however fast about replying to texts and got me the codes within minutes.

The WiFi that is standard does NOT WORK, but once this was noted to the texted phone number, they gave me admin WiFi with password instantly, so maybe they new the other WiFi would not connect?

This is also a NO SERVICES hotel, you have to PAY per day for cleaning, bedding, etc., run more like an AirBnB with cleaning charges, etc. AS we still had a decent total price, and don't really need daily room clean, we were fine. There is a supply closet you get access to for more towels, coffee etc. (use 2 packs of coffee to get more than brown tinted water in the little coffee makers!).

We had 2 rooms, 2 people in each room. The rooms were somewhat different in furnishings and bedding! Each room did have a mini fridge WITH FREEZER, which was rare! Each room did have a mini coffee makers with some supplies.

One room had a mattress that was SUPER SOFT, the other one had a firmer one that was OK. Both seemed to be foam based.

Office wise? There is a small desk in one room, a high top table and stool in the other. The desk location in one room was back by the bathroom, had NO wifi connection, thankfully I had an external WiFi antenna on a long cable to get it near the window, not my first rodeo with bad WiFi! Yay for cozy hotels that are super dog friendly and have a pet fee of only $25 for your entire stay! Yes,your pups are welcome here, and there are lots of places for them to do their business around the hotel and take them on some nice walks. They ask that you don't leave your dogs alone in the hotel (especially if they bark) because that's obviously annoying to other people staying there and (as they state) "the hotel is older and has thin walls". I didn't have too much of an issue with other people around me but the walls are very thin, so if you're a super light sleeper, it might not be for you. They did leave some earplugs on the nightstands though, which is thoughtful and appreciated.

All and all, I loved this place. It was clean, pretty quiet, central to everything you want to do whether you're boarding on the mountain, gambling at the casino, hitting the trails, or just shopping and eating your way through Tahoe. If you enjoy walking everywhere, this hotel is great! Just next door there is a great brewery and coffee shop and just a few businesses down there is a Mexican restaurant. Plus, the little downtown area is maybe a 5 min walk!

Staying here felt less like a hotel and more like a little studio apartment (minus a kitchen). The room was nice and spacious, king bed, small fridge and freezer, coffee maker, full walk in closet, and a pretty big TV with Roku. There is parking right up front where your room is however, they are a little tight if you're driving a truck or SUV.

I can't speak to the service because I didn't need anything replaced while I was there. It also seems like the check-in process is very hands off, meaning I checked in online and got the info emailed to me. When I needed help getting into the room, I had to call a phone number and that person did everything over the phone. But, everything was done promptly and they made it...

Blue Jay Lodge and staff truly went above and beyond to make this trip special. My fiancé and I came to visit Tahoe to celebrate our engagement (along with our dog, Winnie) and I wanted something close to the lake, walking distance from restaurants, and somewhere that would help me set the room up to celebrate the occasion. The staff at Blue Jay Lodge did an amazing job! I was contacted by the property manager and was told that I could pay an extra $100 and they would help with some of the celebration requests. I did not think that they would do ALL of the requests I made! They knocked it out of the park, down to every detail. The presentation was amazing and my fiancé was extremely surprised and happy upon entering the room. Besides going above and beyond to make this occasion special for us, the room was clean, the staff was friendly, it’s in an amazing location, the bed was very comfortable, and the jacuzzi bathtub in our room worked perfectly. We loved our stay here and will 100% be staying at Blue Jay Lodge the next time we are visiting the area!
