The AAA Florida Tour book ranks the Baker Museum in Naples a "Gem" site in South Florida. I wholeheartedly agree. Why? Because we're not huge baseball fans and we walked away with a huge appreciation for five iconic Yankee players and their place in American history. The memorabilia on display for Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, and Derek Jeter is exceptional and one of a kind. Oh, you're not a baseball fan (like us), then how about going for a glimpse of some original Rene Magritte surrealism, or some gigantic Dale Chihuly glass sculptures, or a cornucopia of garbage culled from sea in an artistic display you never thought imaginable. This is no kids museum. This is a thoughtful walk of three floors filled with intelligent and provoking thought. On Sundays, the hours are short, from noon to 4pm. Admission is cheap, only $10. Best of all, our docent (Phyllis) gave us a high level one-hour introduction to all the major exhibits with background info that made our visit truly worthwhile. The drive from Miami is 90 minutes. On a cold day like today, an indoor experience at the Baker Museum is time well spent.

My bag was 1/2 inch too big, so they wouldn’t admit us into the museum. I showed the content of the bag (which held 5 necessities when you are biking like wet wipes, my wallet and my phone). The response to not letting us enter was that the bag is 1/2 inch too wide (10 1/2 instead of 10 inches, I held it next to the signage). I was offered a plastic bag to leave my bag with my bike. I offered to leave my bag at the front desk, or even my ID. There were no other visitors, so we were not holding up a line or others. None of if was accepted. We were simply not let in. Wow. I’m highly disappointed. What a shame for this museum.

Wonderful fine arts museum now featuring exhibits by Andy Warhol and Rene Magritte. Tradition Interrupted features 12 artists from around the world featuring ceramics, rugs and metalworks from the past and the present. There is a wonderful display by a Moroccan artist that combines the spirituality of skateboarding and ancient Muslim prayer rugs. The very manageable museum’s three floors will take 2-3 hours. There are also two Chihuly glass works. Admission is very reasonable and there is a large parking lot. I highly recommend this Naples museum.

It was a pleasant surprise that the museum entrance was free (limited time), for both Baker and Artis. It's not huge, even though there are three levels, it's mostly work of four authors, plus a couple beautiful of Chihuli creations. Works of the Korean and Mexican artists were incredible and very well worth the visit. I wouldn't go out of my way but really nice way to spend a couple of hours. Take the free tour, it is very nice!

The exhibits at the Baker Museum are great and I love how different they are. The baseball memorabilia and history was very interesting. Coming from NY I'm honestly glad they required proof of vaccination, seeing that there's so many people against it in Naples it's nice knowing I can trust this place. By the way you can just take a picture of your vaccination card there's no reason to have it on you at all times.
