You will be treated poorly at this salon. Do not book hair services at this location, especially with Angela. I’m here posting on behalf of my mother, Chheary. My mother came in for her hair appointment (cut and color). Her appointment was scheduled properly with Angela, and she brought her appointment card with her as confirmation. After Angela spent about 10 minutes talking with my mother, Angela suddenly realizes that my mother does not have an appointment scheduled in their computer system.
Immediately, Angela and her staff blame my mother for coming in and not making an appointment. Angela did not even stop to consider that they made an error when inputting her appointment into the system. My mother showed them the appointment card that was given to her and had Angela’s hand writing on it. My mother did indeed have an appointment and Angela messed up and did not confirm it in her own system.
Instead of apologizing and trying to fix the situation, Angela tells my mom that she can’t do her hair today because she needs to get back to “her customer” who does have an appointment in the system, as though my mother was not an actual customer. It is clear that both Angela and her manager, who got involved, assumed my mother, who is a Cambodian immigrant, of course must have made the mistake, in a painfully obvious case of classic paternalistic racism. She speaks with an accent, so of course she must have mixed the dates of her appointments up.
Even after my mother showed her appointment card and proved Angela’s mistake, Angela continued to insist that she had “a customer” that she had an appointment with. Read moreI’m so mad because when I went into the store for a consultation for hair extensions I was told it would be the cost of the hair. They said you pay for the hair and we will install it for free then when you have them reattached you pay for that. Witch I thought the price to reattach was reasonable so I told them I would think about it. Next thing I knew they were calling me saying your hair came in. I felt obligated at that point so I made a appointment to get them put in. After waiting almost 2 weeks for my appointment I get there and all the sudden the cost of the hair has gone up and now I’m being told there is a charge for installation. So what I thought was just a little over $200 has now become $618.. I walked out there is now way in hell I’m paying that when I was told something else. Read morePick up order took way longer than other Ulta stores. And when I finally got the email to come pick it up, I went to the store and it wasn’t ready. They had to go pull the order while I’m there. Totally defeated the point of a pickup order.
Poor attitude from multiple employees, like I was such an inconvenience to them. Apologies came out of their mouth, but from their eye rolls and glares I’m pretty sure they wanted to kill me LOL although they’ve done me wrong not the other way around.
Thankfully the store manager was respectful and able to make things right, hence this is a 2-star reviews not a 1-star review.
I would try to avoid this Ulta location. If you have been to the Ulta stores in Cedar Hills and Tanasbourne, just don’t expect comparable experience from this...
