Very awful experience. Went in during the holiday season to sell my 1 year old 500 gb xbox one, Fallout 4, Elder scrolls online, battlefront, Assassins Creed syndicate, and all the cables, I left my controllers at home so that I could play on a friend's xbox in the future. Remember that bit. I arrived at the store with a buddy of mine and we wait in line to be helped by an employee who tells me I will get $100 less than what I could be recieving because I didn't bring the controllers. I didn't really want to go get them because it was rush hour and traffic was horrid, but she insisted I would be doing myself a $100 injustice if I didn't bring them with me to sell. "If I go and get these controllers I'll get $100 more?" "Absolutely." "You're sure?" "I'm positive haha I work here." She tells me that while I'm gone she will go through my stuff to have a price estimate by the time I return. Heres where the Exchange's poor customer service comes into play. I return a half hour later to find out she clocked out and left work soon after I left to get my controllers, and none of my stuff had been touched yet. So I wait in line, finally I'm helped and the employee hooks up my system to see if it works, which is fine, but he makes me wait there for A WHOLE HOUR AS HE PLAYS STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. He clearly either wanted to avoid the business, as I said it was rush hour and people were getting off work, or he just wanted to play video games. Finally he turns to me and tells me he won't give me more than $130 for all of it. My buddy bursts out laughing. No more than $130 for a 500 gb xbox one, Fallout 4, Elder scrolls online, Assassins Creed syndicate, Battlefront, and two controllers. You know, those controllers they insisted I retrieved to get $100 more for my trade. So if my controllers are worth $100, is my Xbox and all the games worth $30 then or what? Why did I sit in traffic for that? So then I attempt to explain to the man how that's a fairly unreasonable offer, and the employee earlier told me I would be getting much more than $130, and he blatantly interrupts me to tell me that "he's been selling games for 10 years and he knows what he's talking about unlike me or the other employees there." On my life I'm not exaggerating. So I try again, "look buddy I'm only selling this to be able to afford some gifts for my family for Christmas, I came here first because I shop here all the time, I'm sure I can get a better offer somewhere else" to which he responds condescendingly with a smirk, "oh really, where would that be?" like I was born yesterday, to which I reply "surely I can get a better offer on Craigslist, it's almost Christmas and people are trying to buy xboxs." To which an employee who isn't even involved in this transaction leaves his customer to come say "Did you see the sign outside? This isn't Craigslist." So at that point my buddy is cracking up at how hard they are blatantly trying to walk all over me, and I just want to leave. The bag I brought all my stuff in before I went and got my controllers was in my car, so I say to the employee "is it okay if I leave this stuff here so I can go get my bag out of my car real quick?" To which he says no and that I have to remove me stuff immediately. Seeing as how he JUST NOW had my stuff there in that exact spot for a whole freaking hour while he played my game, I didn't think an extra 3 minutes would do any harm, but I guess that's just me. So my buddy and I carry the stuff with our hands through the crowd of people in the store and leave. Now, I know I'm not the brightest, but I know when I'm being ripped off, and I especially know when I'm being talked to disrespectfully for no reason. I've been buying all my movies, video games, and music from the exchange for years now, but now I'm not stepping foot in there unless it's to sell them something I have no need for and take their money, and that goes for all my friends and family too after hearing about my experience. Absolutely...
Read moreI picked up my grandmother and decided to take her here because we grew up going here since they started over two generations ago (my parents went here since I was a kid) and I’ve been a super gamer as I started playing when I was 3 and my whole family has always been Zelda fanatics. My grandmother missed playing Zelda Windwaker with the grandkids and my three month old daughter is going to be next in line to our family heirloom traditions of playing as a family. My grandmother walked in and started scouring the shelves for the Windwaker game and noticed they did not have it. A man walked back and started talking to her and unbeknownst to him, I’m an avid gamer and so I know where to get games and what price range they ought to be. He proceeds to try and lie to her about how he can get her a windwaker disc but it would cost her 150-200$ because it retains its value. Then he tries to sell her the walkthrough for 75$. I looked at her and told her to not listen to him that the game is classic sure but I can get it way cheaper. He tries to sell me with this bologna and I flat out let him know I’ve played more games in my lifetime and longer than he’s been alive there isn’t nothing he can say to pull wool over my eyes and shame on him for seeing an older lady and assume she doesn’t know when she’s being taken advantage of! We both laughed in his face and left. They never used to be this way. For generations my family has come here and prolly gave them hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of profit. Never again. Never again. Only lowlifes lie and take advantage of women and elderly to make a buck and I’m for one never supporting a business...
Read moreI've been to quite a few of The Exchange's in my life, especially my local one at Alliance, but this one blows that one and my childhood one at Canton out the park with how big this particular one is! It's so big that they even have toms and a full on electric drum kit! They even have a few of the new and improved Sound Burgers which makes sense as this and my local Exchange carry tons of LP's, unlike the Canton one. One thing all of The Exchange's I've been to have though are a plentiful amount of video games and movies, video games especially though, certainly a lot more than a super market nowadays. And the good thing about all of them, even ones I haven't been to yet, is that as the name implies you can exchange all those things for what they go for on I believe eBay, don't quote me on that though. However if you bought those things at The Exchange itself and kept the receipt, as long as it hasn't been 30 days since purchase you get your money back guaranteed (this makes it sound like a commercial now doesn't it). Overall though it is a nice place to just browse around to see what they have, like skimming through LPs or looking through the glass displays to see what games, movies, CDs or even cassette tapes! They're not perfect by any means, they do sell some stuff that aren't quite attainable for the average consumer, but I guess that does make it the perfect place for a certain type of hobbyist if you get what I'm putting down (cough video game collectors cough). But yeah that's all I have to say, definitely consider stopping by on your next road trip or...
