I love the idea of how the system operates by donation, and they allow dogs! But.. I think they should charge a fare so that they can update the trolley. It’s just not that appealing. And the system is kind of not optimized. So there was an accident on the rail so the first trolley was stuck. But they still send out the second trolley, that’s the one we were in. When we got closer to downtown (the furthest from the starting point), they told us that we can get off to catch the stuck trolley and wait in traffic, or stay in the second trolley and go around downtown and then wait in traffic. So either way you’ll need to wait in traffic. And they knew this before we departed. In the end in order to not wait hours in traffic, we had to walk back. It took us about 40 mins. It was a good exercise and we got to your Dallas better.. but still😅 I wish they could’ve told us...
Read moreVisited 11/30/20. We had a great experience. We were on the Matilda trolley first which was the oldest trolley that was a trolley that was operated in austrailia, and then brought over seas to dallas where its operated now.. The conductor was very knowledgeable and taught me and my girlfriend a ton on information on these trolleys.
There is no cost to ride the trolley just please donate.
As a kid growing up I was always fascinated by trains, the best part that I got to see, is that the Mckinney Trolley service has one of the only trolley turn table the turns the car around in the other direction. Seeing that was very cool to watch in action.
There is 7 trolleys that they have on the 30th there were only 4 in operation. We rode Matilda and Petunia. I like Matilda alot better from the two just due to the History aspect as its been in operation...
Read moreVery fun and historic. Take your time and ride the entire way. It's very cool. You might want to take the whole day and ride and get off. Ride and get off. There are so many cool sights to see from downtown Dallas area to Uptown. Many, many, upscale restaurants, bars, and shops to visit all the way. Some of the finest dining in town along this ride. FREE RIDE. Historically dressed conductor. He works on tips so some are really good show people. Some not as good. Very relaxing. The entire ride takes about an hour. At least 45 mins one way. Round trip I've never done before. It has a real turn table style turn house by the DART subway. Very fun on a sunny day or...
