I hate making these reviews cause I really wanted to like this place, but hopefully, the management will read and make improvements... first, the food... it was "ok." I got the breakfast chicken and waffles, and the poached egg was hard poached, not what I was expecting. The chicken was two overcooked strips. The waffle was nothing spectacular, eggo-esk. The egg needs to be properly poached, the chicken needs to be more chicken and less over fried breading, and the waffle should be Belgian style for breakfast chicken and waffles. And if there was hollandaise sauce, which the menu said was on it, it was hiding. My wife got the carrot cake pancakes, which appeared to just be their cinnamon roll pancakes with a bit of shredded carrots on top... they were really good, she just wanted more carrot-cakie. Next, the service was slow. I'm not blaming the waitress cause she was the only waitress in the place! She was great but very stretched thin! The front of the house needs more staff or just better organization. Now to the atmosphere, the problem with open atmosphere places like this is, on cold/cool days, the food gets cold, quickly. The food came out hot, but about halfway thru it was cold. There's no double door for the rear entrance, and people were coming in and out constantly. This should be fixed.

Not wanting to make it all sound bad, the breakfast potatoes were awesome! They are what breakfast potatoes should be!

One other note on the food, we did not get the brunch buffet because it appeared old. For $19, it should have a constant rotation of fresh food.

As I said in the beginning, I hate writing reviews like this cause this is a locally owned restaurant and I'm a huge fan of shopping and eating local but hopefully someone that can make improvements based...

I try not to review things on an opening weekend - but Toasted is great and everyone should try it out! It's a beautiful space and I can tell already it's going to become a Quad City favorite. Bartender Parker was attentive and friendly. The food was FAST! My friend ordered the chicken waffle benny and it literally was in front of him hot and ready two minutes later. We were stupefied. (my order came about five minutes later, but I understand they were probably rung in separately since we were sitting at the bar) His side of brûléed grapefruit was confusingly missing any aspect of sugar or heat. Meh - not a big deal. They'll get it right next time. My salmon benny was delicious (the poached eggs cooked to perfection!) The side of breakfast potatoes were crispy and hot - which historically can be hit and miss at any breakfast spot. The bloody mary was pretty - not my favorite flavor profile though... too worcestershirey. I look forward to trying their other cocktails or enjoying the mimosa special on my next visit.

My challenge to Toasted-

  1. make your own bloody mix like Baked does.
  2. don't cut your grapefruit in slices, just do a half situation and brûlée the top
  3. share the hollandaise recipe from Baked. Yours was ok... but I had Baked's benny on Sunday and the holly was out...

This is my second time coming to this restaurant and it was a huge disappointed! The first time I came the service and food was outstanding. So I decided to bring my family. To begin, we were sat and provided coffee. We asked for cream and sugar and waited for 10 minutes before we had to stand up to ask for them again only ti get cream and no sugar. Then we waited again for approx. 15 more minutes to order food without ordering any drinks. Once food came, the orders were all wrong. When being served the food, there were no utensils so we the food kept sitting at our table waiting for them to figure out what was wrong with the order and no utensils were being provided for those who did have the orders correct so when we ate our food it was cold. The drinks from the bar were subpar. There were employees drinking while we were still there waiting during this whole fiasko and add insult to injury when the check time came we were told a manager would come talk to us but no one came. We got a discount instead. I did not ask for this discount nor did I want one. I wanted to discuss al these mistakes so that they can better themselves because the place has much potential. I would not recommend based on this visit. I hope they can fix their...

I was honestly not expecting a great experience based on the previous reviews. However, I'll say the experience was not all that bad. Yes, they were out of several menu items to include their bloody marys, which is a little unusual for a place that serves a Sunday breakfast menu. After a few apologies from the cute waitress, we ended up with the $18 dollar mimosa bucket that included two juices (pineapple and cranberry) they were out of orange juice, and a whole bottle of champagne. It was delish! The food came out quickly, it was fresh and quite tasty. What I liked most about the vegetable omelet and breakfast potatoes, was that it tasted healthy and not a single drop of extra grease was on the plate. Phenomenal job in my opinion! Despite the other negative reviews; I'd say give this palace a chance. Post a review, and let them grow from the honest, fair, and balanced feedback.

Best breakfast in a long time! Not sure why we waited this long but don’t make my mistake. Everything we had was amazing. Staff is super friendly and efficient. Had the Bacon Jam Sammie and the Cinnamon Roll pancakes with amazing fresh sausage as a side and Chicken and Waffles Benedict. Grapefruit Brûlée was an unexpected favorite of the whole family.
