Henry’s Pizza — Restaurant in Daytona Beach

This evening, my wife and I had the distinct pleasure of dining at this wonderful pizza place on a whim while visiting Daytona Beach. The party of four that were socially distanced seated near us had ordered side salads that were served impeccably and piled high with fresh dark leafy greens and dressed appropriately. Yet, they had the audacity to send them back, not once, but twice because they were unsatisfied with the contents of the salads. Instead, they preferred cheap iceberg lettuce, with a tomato wedge, and cucumber bits drenched in ranch dressing. Anyone with a halfwit education knows that such a salad has zero nutrients and is the fare served in large chain restaurants that have ruined good food and service. Our pizza was one of the best pizzas we have had in a long time. Coming from two personal chefs, to see the fresh spinach, fresh mushrooms, caramelized onions, and roasted red peppers adorned with a luxe and pungent blend of gorgonzola and mozzarella cheeses, this pizza set our tastebuds on a trip! Ahh! Surprisingly amazing food. Came here with the family after a beach day; craving pizza we found this place thanks to its high Google rating. They have a few parking spaces in the back, and the place itself is charmingly full of character. Everything was well cooked and served HOT and fresh out of the oven. We got a few apps - mozzarella sticks, jalapeno poppers, hot wings and a veggie pizza. The blue cheese topping wasn't for everyone but it complimented the veggie pizza better than I was expecting - providing a unique flavour twist. Unfortunately the hot wings and jalapeno poppers weren't spicy at all but both were cooked to perfection (which is a rare occasion with wings!) so I can't complain. The only complaint I really have is that the tap water tasted bleh (I swear I'm not picky, and drink tap water all the time), it ruined the taste of mixed drinks like my sweet tea and regular water for others. A dedicated water filter system of sorts for drinks wouldn't be a bad idea. Ordered 2 pizzas, wings and mozzarella sticks. Was not impressed at all. As a restaurant owner myself I understand you will have a bad day in the kitchen. BUT the pizza was not wood fired. The crust was barely cooked and the burger on the pizza taste like taco meat. There was so much grease on the pizza it was oozing down my arm while I took a bite. We tried to cook the pizza more but that defiantly didn’t help, just made it worse. My sons cheese pizza was in the same condition. It also had big globs of green paste all over it. They Said mozzarella sticks were homemade, they were straight from Sysco. I serve the same ones. The wings are not fresh chicken. We ordered Buffalo but they had no sauce on them. So after $71.00 we threw everything in the trash and ordered elsewhere. Again maybe they are having a bad night in the kitchen.
