AYA Medical Spa Decatur — Attraction in Decatur

I hesitated to write a review because of all the 5 stars. But I'm writing this in the hopes I can prevent someone else from having the type of disastrous experience I had at Aya.

The ladies at Aya in Decatur are very nice and yet I would have given them zero stars if possible. I am not looking for 'nice' when I get injectables. I expect a high level of skill and of course professionalism. After reading the reviews, I thought that's what I was in for. I saw Lauren because Aya is very close to my home. She has glowing reviews and her bio states she was a nurse anesthesiologist. I figured she knew something about needles. Plus, I was getting the same exact procedure I had gotten multiple times before with success. I knew the drill.

What happened was nothing less than a nightmare. Lauren talked me into getting Daxxify and spoke at length on how she would administer it very lightly around my eyes. She did the exact opposite. The effect was that she completely froze the upper portion of my face to the point where I had horizontal lines under my eyes because everything else was frozen. When I smile, I look as though I was grimacing.

Three weeks later, I foolishly returned to Lauren to see if she could do anything. She added 'superficial botox' to my under eyes. In so doing, she broke a blood vessel so that it looked like I had been punched in the eye. To fix that, Aya then applied lasers to it to help it heal quickly. Even with that, 3 months later, it keeps popping up on my face here and there.

Yes, Aya refunded my money. Yes, they had their very nice 'fixer' do a consult with me in which she gave me superficial eye masks. But my face was still frozen.

I ended up going to an actual MD at a highly respected med spa to fix the disaster Lauren caused. Of course, I will never go back to Aya but also I will never get injectables from anyone less than a doctor or at least someone highly experienced and trained. I would advise others to do the same. Your face isn't worth unskilled but 'nice' people...

Overall review- For the first time in my life I decided on getting treatment done for my facial skin and Stefanie did an amazing job. I did get free consultation before going in for the treatment where my skin was evaluated and I was advised about treatments. I went for one session of micro needling(first pic)and two session ms of VI chemical peels(second pic with peeling skin). Micro needling definitely helped with my skin texture but my first VI chemical peel precision plus gave me acne breakout. I was concerned but I got help from Stefanie. She was always available when needed, no matter what time. A huge thanks to Stefanie. She changes my 2nd session of chemical peel with VI precision which didn’t give me acne breakout. After Treatment- I was given a small kit and detailed instruction booklet to follow after every treatment. Micro needling hurts a bit while the process is on and doesn’t really hurts later and within 5 days my skin was normal. But chemical peels give burning sensation during the process and after the process too because you’ve to keep on applying the peel even at home for next 2 days and the whole peeling session took 10 days in total for me until I had my clear skin back. Note- it’ll take at-least 3 sessions of any treatment to show results. Conclusion- it’s expensive treatments but worth...

Alyssa was my injector both times and did my prior Botox injections and this round of Daxxify (a brand new service for me). She is not only super knowledgeable about her craft, but so kind, genuine, and professional.

It is so difficult to find an injector that is not only passionate but radiates professionalism and makes the entire process from beginning to end absolute perfection. Alyssa goes above and beyond this. She hyper customized my treatment to me, worked off of prior notes from our last appointments to ensure the perfect dosage and placement, and confirmed everything single thing she did to ensure I was comfortable all while answering my questions!
