We used Farm Burger Decatur to cater a very large party last Friday night. To say they were phenomenal would be putting it mildly. Here’s some highlights:
Jen and her team were incredible. They had sooo much hustle and muscle. The set up and break down was flawless and quick. To say this was absolutely the “A-Team” of catering and service would be spot on. They were polite, friendly, always there when a guest needed something, but not hovering, kept every dish filled - no buffet item was ever empty and no trash can was ever full. Honestly, I was running the party and I never ever had to go and ask them to do anything because the team was THAT on top of it. I actually got to enjoy the party. Do you know how rare that is?!?
The food: OMG - where do I start? In a word… delish. Every item was a complete hit. Our crowd was absolutely raving. We had three different kinds of sliders, a Mac n Cheese station, their famous pimento cheese, salad, etc. The buffet was always hoppin’ because folks were going back for 2nds, 3rds, I even saw a few sneak back for 4ths with no shame about it! LOL! It was a definite home run.
From beginning to end, Farm Burger Decatur was an absolute delight to work with. Their catering proposal and pricing was straightforward, clear, and transparent. Their communication was equally clear and timely. I was never chasing them for details or follow up. I truly wish all the vendors I work with could take notes from Farm Burger Decatur.

Read moreI tried the signature FarmBurger which came with white cheddar, caramelized onions, and FB sauce. The burger itself had great flavor - beefy, well-seasoned, and cooked appropriately medium. The rest of the burger is where I take issue. The bun was soft and squishy, which was great, however it was way too big for the patty, leaving many bites sadly burgerless. The biggest offenders were the "caramelized" onions, which had a little color to them but otherwise bore no resemblance to their namesake as they were still crunchy and astringent in the middle and were cut in such large pieces that they would hardly stay on the burger. The signature sauce was fine, a pretty standard mayo+ketchup type burger sauce. The fries were actually excellent, hand-cut, fresh, and crispy, unlike most other fries prepared this way. I might go back if I was in a pinch, but I would definitely skip the signature burger and build my own, skipping the far less-than-caramelized onions. We also tried the sweet potato hush puppies which were unique and pretty tasty fritters with a soft orange interior. All in all, I think their are better local burger places but if you're in the area and craving one, building your own here isn't...
Read moreWord to the wise, you don't actually need the fries or the onion rings. They're excellent, but if the burger doesn't fill you up, get yourself checked out. You might have an alien growing in you or something. The burgers are remarkable. This is easily the best burger in town. Quality beef, seasoned well, and very juicy even well done. The toppings list is also impressive. I recommend the smoked white cheddar and crispy onions. To the d-bag who criticized them for not being healthy:
IT'S A BURGER JOINT!! Nothing can make a burger healthy. It's an indulgence. If you don't want to indulge, don't go there.
To the d-bag who criticized them for letting children eat there:
You're a special kind of stupid person. Every successful restaurant in Decatur is happy to cater to families with children. It's important to their success as well as the success of the city in general. People living in houses with kids who walk to town are paying the bulk of taxes and fees that keep Decatur alive and allow you to have a decent downtown area to do whatever it is you do. If you're looking for a nightclub atmosphere, head...
