Nice little pub in downtown Decatur. Parking was free, limited, and a little tight. The restaurant had plenty of outdoor and indoor seating and it was spooky-ly decorated for Halloween. We ordered the Goat Cheese Fritters --- this is what annoys me about appetizers that are served in odd numbers: you have to be selfless and give up the extra fritter to your spouse or test them to see if they have a generous heart. Or I guess you could just stare at the last piece for several minutes and see who will get it first. So yeah...it only came with 3 fritters and being the generous person I am...I gave it to my husband. I ordered the Warm Brussels Sprouts Salad and OMG I couldn't stop eating it. Just don't smile if you're on a date or with friends, because the dressing is half black pepper, half vinaigrette. I had so many black pepper flakes stuck in between my teeth at the end of my meal...it was so embarrassing. Good thing I'm married and my husband sees me without makeup...so black pepper teeth ain't the worst thing he's seen of me. My husband ordered the Shepherd's Pie and devoured it like it was his last meal. Our server was friendly and attentive. Definitely will come back to try if I'm in the area.

Approaching the Marlay House, I noticed they had a small parking lot right next to the restaurant, along with a sign pointing to additional parking in the rear. I quickly found a spot in the side parking lot and headed to the outside seating area where I saw my group of friends. I joined them, and our server quickly came by to check on us.  I reviewed the beer and food menus. The beer selection was okay—about ten options to choose from, including offerings from some local Atlanta breweries. I started with a Three Taverns Night on Ponce IPA. We were chatting it up, and after a while, I started to get hungry. I ordered the grilled mahi tacos and a Creature Comforts Bigger Dreams Hazy IPA as my second beer. The tacos came out pretty quickly, and they were good—went well with the beer, too. A friend of mine ordered the fried fish tacos and really enjoyed them. I walked through the restaurant’s interior, and it was dimly lit, really living up to the Irish pub motif. Everything looked very clean and overall I enjoyed my first visit to Marlay House and would return to try some other items.

10/10 recommend! We had our wedding welcome lunch at Marlay House and it was one of the best decisions we made. We worked with the general manager, Michelle, from March to plan for our lunch in August. From the beginning she was so helpful and accommodating to our needs. Their food options fit all of our guests dietary restrictions which was big for us. The day of our lunch the staff was incredible! Everyone was so friendly and kind to us. We felt very taken care of. Our guests raved about how delicious the food was. The pub was a great location especially for our out of town guests staying in Decatur Square. The pub has plenty of parking. Michelle and the team made sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying their time. If anyone is looking for a place to host their next event and want amazing food, friendly staff, great location, and good prices - look no further! Photo credits: @frykmanphotography

This is, quite possibly, one of the most disgusting establishments I have ever visited, and I would give it ) stars if I could. To start off, there is an egregious bug problem. During my one and only visit, I saw three different roaches in three different locations. Both fortunately and unfortunately, it was after I had already eaten and closed out my meal, so I was able to leave relatively quickly after noticing them. Additionally, I am not confident in their staff's ability to maintain personal hygiene. A server and I went into the restroom at around the same time. When it came to her washing her hands, all I heard was a quick rinse under the faucet, and the closing of the door. Now, I know the soap dispenser worked, so there was no reason why she was incapable of applying it. Once again, fortunately that had nothing to do with me, because I was sitting at the bar. To top it all off, the culture of this establishment is disturbing. Everyone seems pretty reasonable, except for someone in the kitchen. He had an overall tone of aggressive condescension when he talks to his fellow employees - none of which referenced their hand-washing skills. I have never been more disappointed in an establishment, especially considering the fact that I saw nothing but the ravest of reviews. I can only assume that those customers are frequenters who conveniently live in the neighborhood, and were willing to turn a blind eye to the filth and degradation taking place here. I do not plan on ever coming back, and I can only recommend that you take heed, and avoid this place as well. Thanks for coming...

Came in yesterday for dinner with a bunch of my friends after walking by this place for many months. Planned to have a girls night on the patio and just order some drinks and appetizers. The patio was packed but we were seated very quickly. Our server was Shanaed. She was very energetic and fun and recommended some really yummy cocktails. She clearly was very busy but still made time to come over and chat with us and ask us how our night was going and check in. Everything regarding service and food was fantastic. My concerns lies with how management treated the staff that night. Overheard our server tell what seemed to be the manager that she had too many tables and needed help, he told her to knock it off and deal with it. While enjoying our apps the wrong food came to our table. Shanaed quickly jumped in to tell the person bringing it he was at the wrong table. No harm was done but the manager seemed to be upset with her about it and spoke to her in a very aggressive tone by our table that made us uncomfortable and upset for her. At one point she was bringing water to a table and seemed like she went the wrong direction and the manager pulled on the back of her shirt to move her a different way. I normally never leave reviews like this but as a female watching a female server being treated like this made me very uneasy. I found it inappropriate and wrong to say the least. Loved the food and our service but wouldn’t come back from this...

So basically this is the only Irish'ish pub in Atlanta. Yeah, I know others put that on their sign or website or whatever. They are all terrible. This place, not so much.

Here is the deal, they have a few Irish inspired menu items and then the rest is, frankly, something completely different. And that is a good thing. Im Irish, people dont come to us for food. Do a shepherds pie justice and then braise/boil a few things in Guinness and be done with it. That is why this place works. They do those, they do them pretty well, but then they admit that Irish FOOD isn't the best and have a lot of great other options on the menu. It makes it REALLY group friendly. Young, old, vegan, stupid enough to think they are allergic to gluten, whatever. Everyone gets what they want.

They have beer. Lots of beer. Not just Guinness.

Patio is really, really nice. Its on the main road but it has high brick walls and a pergola so it feels more intimate, you don't feel like you have to make awkward eye contact with every person who walks by (but you should, by choice). I cant tell you much about the inside, I havent made it past the servers stand because the vast majority of my draw to this place is seeing a band or otherwise getting drunk on the patio. It looked kind of dark like every other "Irish...
