So yesterday my wife went to turn on her computer to start her workday from home. It wouldn't turn on. We messed with it and couldn't make it work. A quick Google search found me computers direct. I called them after they opened was clearly explained their costs to examine the machine and what to expect. My wife took the tower in shortly after and was greeted by Ed. By far the nicest and most professional person I have experienced in a while. He treated my wife with respect and clearly explained what he saw. He pointed out how the very expensive computer we bought from an Amazon seller was showing signs it was incorrectly assembled. He laid out their pricing for what the potential repairs could be. We thought for sure it was going to be expensive and he explained we may need a new power supply. My wife agreed to the costs and left the tower. Less than 30 minutes later (we paid a $40 fee to expedite service) he called me to explain the tower was just assembled wrong. Many connections weren't secure and the power supply was installed upside down and actually causing a heat issue for the graphics card. All we owed was the $79 service fee and the expedited fee. When my wife went to pick it up he explained to her that even the graphics card wasn't right for the motherboard. So Ed who could've been dishonest and charged me for a new power supply and graphics card DIDN'T. He is an honest businessman who will be getting any repeat business should we need his services. In this day and age of feeling like many services are ripping you off Ed is running one so right. Thank...
Read moreI called last week and spoke with Art. I told him I just purchased some hardware online and it would not power up (turn on) no lights come on, no CPU fan spins? As I arrived Ed received my tower and quickly tested the power supply for free and found out it was working fine. Says my fee is $99.00 for further research to find out what could be the issue and I would have to leave my tower there with them to diagnose what the problem could be? About 5-days later I get a call from Ed and he says it's the pin's on the CPU are bent at each of the four corners. I don't know if I would have found that out on my own? So, I do appreciate the research and when I arrived to pick up my tower, Art was there and he showed me the bent pins on the CPU, he also confirmed that the motherboard is working fine and all I would need is a new CPU. I honestly don't know if I did this damage at the moment I installed it or if it was this way when I received this CPU from an online vender, who sold it to me as a "Refurb/Used"? Anyway Ed and Art are very knowledge about computers and in the future I will definitely come back if I need help with any...
Read moreI should have posted this a long time ago. This place is amazing. I can not say enough about Eddie.
Eddie is an amazing human being and a master of computer knowledge. He loves to share and will never steer you wrong.
The most important important quality Eddie possesses is an almost pathological need for honesty. He will not take your money for the sake of trying to fix something that should not be fixed. I have been working with him and his team for about 5 years now, have bought 5 or 6 computers from him, taken 4 or 5 in for repair. My Darling Dell XPS15; which I loved so much was in trouble and when I took it to him almost demanding he fix it, he explained why it would be such a waste of money for me to do so and steered me towards a much more inexpensive spend on a newer machine he had rebuilt.
Computer purchasing and repair can suck as there is so much complexity that any sales person can take advantage of. I have never been cheated by Eddie and, more importantly, I have never felt cheated.
I can not recommend Direct...
