Our family has a lot of fond memories from experiencing shows here. Box office agents have been very helpful and kind. If you're coming to a show here, I recommend to arrive early as the parking garage can fill up quickly. We're not fans of the impractical seating layout and interior design. Whoever designed this stage and seating truly missed the mark of excellence. If you want to hear the best sound, you need to be in the upper rings and not the best views. There is not an accurate online seating chart. Several rows are missing numbers, for example, in Dress Circle 2 the seating does not start with 1 and it skips several numbers. The carpeting needs to be replaced. We came to a Joshua Bell concert here several years ago and had the opportunity to ask Joshua questions after his performance. Someone asked him about the layout and he said it is a poor layout and the acoustics are not the best. There seems to be a lot of interior dust and/or issues with the carpeting because we get a headache every time we leave. If Denver wanted to be known for having a top-notch performance venue then they should build something much larger, far more practical, and with the best acoustical layout possible than this venue... and when they do rebuild, pls don't do the crazy avant-garde or whatever crazy interior design again... with seats that start with the number 1 and stay consecutive till the end of the row. We are grateful for the variety of performances they provide...
Read moreMy husband splurged and got me tickets for LOTR for my birthday on the day of. When we arrived, we discovered we didn't have tickets. We had been sold tickets from the past, the day before, which had already been in the past when we bought them. Fortunately, there were tickets available, and we were downgraded to one of the Ring sections (up in the rafters). It was a little disappointing, but I was thrilled be able to go. The concert/movie were absolutely amazing!
However, they gave us $100 credit because the ring section tickets were much cheaper. A couple months later, we got a letter saying "thanks for the donation" because they had taken our credits away at the end of the season.
We don't have a lot of money and got pretty burned by this. I just moved here from out of state and this was my first time attending the symphony. I'm pretty gunshy after having the tickets taken out from under us, getting a downgrade, receiving a credit instead of a refund, and then having the credits stolen from us. It's a pretty bad policy and a sequence of 4 service mishaps. I emailed customer service and they couldn't do anything about it. The backend person needs to fix that problem with the website. It's unacceptable and it should never have been deployed with a bug like that. That's a "work through the...
Read moreWe went to see The Music of Pink Floyd with the Colorado Symphony on 4/15/2023. It was great, especially if you’re a big fan of Pink Floyd. It brought back a lot of nice memories of the classic rock music in the 1970 and 1980. The acoustic of the concert hall was nice, and I only wish the I could hear a bit more of the symphony. The traveling band was great but a bit overpowered the show. Overall, it’s great and will recommend to everyone, not just Pink Floyd fans. The saxophone 🎷 and keyboard from the band were both outstanding! The reason I didn’t give it a five star review is the experience with the bar at the Boettcher concert hall. The cocktails are awfully expensive! We ordered one Manhattan and one Old Fashioned, and was charged for $54. We were surprised by the bill and the bartender gave us a discounted price at $48. That’s still $24/each in plastic cups, and the drinks tasted below average. I would feel better if the symphony would also get a cut from the drink sales since we want to support Colorado symphony. If you’d like to order a drink, stay with either wine or beer, which are more...
