My family and I booked the hotel for 8 nights to be close to our friends in Thanksgiving. The first morning we took a shower and all of a sudden the entire hallway was flooded including the carpet. We called the front desk and they sent their man who was very nice and professional. He cleaned up and made sure that everything was okay before he left. However, he mentioned that the problem was from the shower curtains that are too short to keep the water from coming out. When I asked the front desk, they said there is nothing that they can’t do. Hhhh now we had to take a shower and placed towels for the water not to go out. The third day, we asked the front desk for the sheets of the bed to be changed in the morning around 11.00 am, but when we came back around 9.00 pm nothing has been done. The room was the same as we left it. I called again the front desk and spoke with Sarah who said that they will send someone to fix the sheet. 30 minutes later none had shown up. I went down and found Sky at the front desk and I explained the issue to him. He told me to wait and left for 15 minutes and then he came saying that he could not find anyone to set up the beds and he was sorry. We, then asked for new sheets and we had to replace them ourselves. Now it’s about the cook Alex Medina who refused to make omelettes for me and my kids on Friday by saying “ I can’t make 5 omelettes for you, I have people on the line” he has been serving us since Tuesday and he knows exactly what we order everyday. The way he said it was very rude and not professional and that what made me upset. He could easily say it i a nice way and I would accept it. We then spoke to the manage Mr. Perez who finally made us the omelettes and brought them to the table. The morning before we left, I had called the front desk to get the car ready for us and the first thing he said was like: front desk how can I help you? No good morning no nothing. I had to repeat good morning twice and said to him “ I said good morning” then he said good morning hhhh. It is like he was mad i called him early at 5.30 am. We are an Embassy suite lovers, especially here in Florida, but this last experience we had in Denver was a very bad one. Next time we will make sure to book somewhere where they really appreciate the customers. I know that your reply will be like: Sorry to hear about your experience, we would like you to contact us at wwwwwwwwwwww/contact/support to see how we can improve our services”. Nothing can replaced the bad...
Read moreBefore I arrived, I made the mistake of reading various reviews—many negative—about the noise by the elevator, mildew in the shower, and the lack of housekeeping service.
After my experience, I believe the negative reviews were intended to drive people away from enjoying this gem of a hotel experience. I spent four wonderful nights in the lap of luxury!
My suite was on the 10th floor, and had a spacious front area with a desk and chair, a comfy sofa, big screen TV, and lots of lighting. The bedroom was huge with a comfy bed and lots of pillows. And the bathroom was perfectly placed in the hallway between the two rooms. The room was so quiet that I couldn’t hear anything outside. My window overlooked the Denver Convention Center!
I woke early each day to swim in the saltwater pool before showering and breakfast. While the pool was so small that I could barely trigger my watch to count my lengths, I enjoyed the experience of gliding from end to end. The pool is on the same floor as the restaurant, which was a whole other slice of Heaven.
I will say that the water pressure in the shower was low, and it took a long time to get any hot water. But since I wanted to swim anyway, I didn’t worry about these small frivolities.
In the morning, I was treated to an omelette filled with my choices, hand-crafted by the one and only Alex Medina. One thing that all the Google reviews agreed on is that Alex is a top notch chef with a great heart to boot. One morning, I caught Alex and a couple other kitchen staff cleaning up after the machine that served pancake syrup didn’t stop. Without missing a beat, Alex started my omelette, cleaned up the syrup mess, then returned at just the right time to serve the eggs onto my plate. I also have to give credit to the rest of the breakfast buffet. Lots of choices.
At 5pm each afternoon was happy hour at the bar. Due to other evening activities with my colleagues, I was only able to join the event once. But it was great to enjoy a chill time to myself, armed with a free beverage and a handful of snacks.
The property is close to the 16th St Mall, which is a street designed for pedestrian-only traffic. It’s a central walkway to several restaurants and shops. On my last night in Denver we went to Maggiano’s fine Italian restaurant.
Only a block away from the hotel is the Fortissimo Duelling Piano lounge. I enjoyed different shows on Wednesday and Thursday nights!
I look forward to returning to Denver to enjoy another stay at the Embassy...
Read moreI called the customer service beforehand to inquire about the pool, as my girlfriend and I wanted to spend time in it on Valentine's Day. It looked beautiful and it was our main draw to the hotel. Customer service told me it was open till 11, but didn't know or didn't mention that the pool was closed for renovations. We found out when we got down there in our swimsuits and were disappointed, so we decided to dress back up and go out, but the area around the hotel was under construction and all the pretty areas were populated by homeless drug addicts. They kept following us and trying to get our attention or saying strange things at us while clearly high and not making sense. It was a scary experience. Even worse, I had the ring on me that I was planning to propose with. Not only did the disgusting, unsafe environment stop me from being able to propose, I'm just glad we didn't get attacked or robbed because the ring was very expensive. My girlfriend also wanted a romantic and nice moment and cried because we were just harassed the whole time. We got hungry after getting back and ordered food to be delivered to the lobby. I came to collect it and get some more coffee for our room. The attendant in the lobby was rude, unfriendly, seemingly bothered by my presence, and walked incredibly slowly while being on her phone the whole time. Additionally, the breakfast in the morning was terrible, as the eggs were wet, cold, and soggy; and the potatoes were over-salted and overly-seasoned. The bacon was dry and burnt. I was incredibly hungry but wasn't able to get much down because there was nothing that was good or that I couldn't have made better at home. The hotel was marketed "high-end" and looked beautiful inside, but there was no safety, no walkability, below average service, closed amenities without notice, and generally little value for the price. The dinner was good and roped us in, but the breakfast the rest of our stay was terrible. The only reason we were able to have a good time was because we were with each other; it seemed like the hotel and surrounding community were trying to sabotage us at every turn. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone especially couples searching for a...
