As a local who depends on companies like this to keep my cat fed and to easily access the tools I use to keep him happy. I am very thankful to this business continues to thrive in the heart of downtown. I got my cat here from the cat care society. They have a nice little playpen where the kittens can go play and you can go see. Marlo crawled right up into my lap. He was the only cat in the bin and the staff were more than accommodating and helping me get him. While I was extremely disappointed to see the grooming services disappear, the self grooming stations that they offer are exceptionally useful and a great tool for those who want to take their pets cleanliness into their own hands but may not have the space in their current apartment. They sell plenty of live bugs if you are the kind of person who loves insects or birds. I am that kind of person, but I don't have the mental fortitude to maintain their highly restricted environments. Their policy of price matching other competing companies as well maintains an air of honesty and fair pricing. Due to where the location is, they've had a few security issues in the past which have resulted in frequently changing door and backpack policies. As someone who lives upstairs this can A bit frustrating as if I really did want to steal something. I could just walk it upstairs but I'm taking my bag or my cart because the things I'm shopping for are very heavy. So I end up having to make a pile of heavy things by the cash register profusely apologizing to the person in front of me as i check-out. I do love the centralized checkout counter though, as it allows for staff to easily float between tasks whenever they are short-staffed (which can unfortunately be often). The dog runs outside of the store seem to rarely be used, but I appreciate that as when they were being used, it was one of the most terrible smelling things I had ever walked past in my life. It's also possible that it became someone's job to actually clean the place up at the end of the day. Due to this location being combined with Ace hardware, it is one of the most convenient stores I have ever entered. And it's next...
Read moreThe quality of service at this store is horrible. I stopped by the store about 3 weeks ago wondering if the store offers a frequent buyer for Signature (their buy 12 get 1 free deal). The person at the register shared the only person that would know is their manager. Not a problem. Called back this morning, first spoke to supposedly Kevin, I was explaining I would like to speak with a manager regarding Signature. He thought I was a salesperson and shared "we're not interested". I tried to explain I'm a customer and he said again "we're not interested" and hung up on me. I called back and was actually transferred to the store manager Julianna, after I asked for the district manager's email address. There was no apology and when I asked for the district manager's email she shared the store email address is the district manager's email address.
Poor customer service. Need new employees who have phone edicate and a manager that actually works instead of hiding behind...
Read moreThey closed early despite posted hours. We arrived at 7:30 on Saturday 08/13. An employee let us in, and the manager then began yelling at us to leave and asking how we got into the store. Another gentleman entered behind us and the manager pushed his service dog that was entering with him, and began yelling at him as well. They supposedly closed to paint floors, but no sign was posted to update hours. They would not answer me when I asked multiple times who the owner of the store was. Though this is supposedly a franchised store, I will be filing a formal complaint with the corporate office and any other avenues / resources applicable. UPDATE 08/14: I have left my contact information with the manager to give to the owner and have asked to be called, as again she would not give me any contact information...
