I stayed at this hotel for five nights for a conference for work that was at the convention center across the street, so I can't complain too much since I was not paying for it myself. In terms of meeting my basic needs, my stay was good: the room was clean and quiet. However, given that Regency is Hyatt's 'signature, upper-upscale' brand, I expected a bit more from my stay. Some points: -I checked in on Sunday, 1/8, just after 4:00 PM. Even though I did the pre-check-in, the check-in was super slow, which is really irritating after a long day of travel. It seemed to me that the reason for this was that most of the check-in staff did not know their own procedures and were relying on one staff member who did know what was going on. -Also at check-in, I enquired about picking up a package I had mailed ahead to the hotel. I carefully followed the instructions for doing this given in the automated phone tree that is accessed by calling the hotel phone number. If there were further instructions to follow, I likely never would have known because it was seemingly impossible to reach a live person at the hotel. However, it appears that the hotel lost the package! The package contained the poster that I was to present the next day at the conference I was attending. Therefore, I had to spend an extra $130 to get the poster re-printed in an expedited fashion at the FedEx center located on premises. -No breakfast is provided, not even a simple continental one. There is an option for a $25 breakfast buffet at the on-premise Former Saint restaurant. To me, even in this high-inflation environment, $25 is a very high price for a buffet breakfast, especially when I am already paying a high nightly rate. To wit, the Embassy Suites located just across the street provides free breakfast (and free happy hour!) to its guests. Not only all of this, but also options for breakfast fare are limited in this part of downtown Denver. -Though my room was clean and met my basic needs, it was otherwise very spartan and a bit on the small side, which surprised me for an upscale hotel. There was a fridge but no microwave oven. -On my check-out day, the housekeeper tried to enter my room at 9:00 AM even though I had the do-not-disturb placard on my door knob and the check-out time was 11:00 AM. The only reason they were not successful in actually entering is because I had the privacy latch engaged...
Read moreFor the price point, this was one of the worst hotels Ive stayed in. Ive stayed in a lot of hotels in this grade over my past 15 professional years for conferences, etc. There were a lot of little things by themselves that were not big deals. My 1 gallon garbage can had a 20 gallon liner for it. The drain stop in the sink didnt work. The bathtub drain didnt flow so I was standing in a pool of water by the end of my shower. I was here for a few days and had leftovers. I couldnt order a microwave for the room. I had to take my leftovers down to the lobby to warm them up or else throw them away. A lot of whatever. The bedding pushed me over though. Getting a good nights sleep is all that really matters to me. It started out weird because when I went to bed and tried to find the bottom sheet I was looking and realized I had pulled up all the sheets. Apparently they use an oversized flat sheet instead of a fitted sheet. Which comes undone at night. Then I thought it had 3 sheets on top for a cover. It turns out its a flat sheet. A duvet. And a flat sheet. However, the duvet was as thin as a sheet. All the feathers inside were broken up and clumped into the corners of the baffels. Worthless. Also a flat sheet as the top cover is just weird. The covers offered no warmth at all. So I called the manager. They offered me a different room but it was just as bad. Its a hotel wide problem. I said if I can just get a decent blanket Im fine and will just stay in the room I have. It was 10:30 pm and I just needed some sleep. They said okay. 30 minutes later no blanket. So I called back down. Its 11:15 pm. Did they send up a decent duvet? No. They sent one of those white cloth heavy embroidered blankets your grandma would have on a guest bed. Terrible. But I said forget it and went to bed. But at least I got to listen to the loud hum of the minifridge to help me sleep. For the money. I wont come back to this hotel. There are sooooo many other options. Even if the conference is in this hotel again. Ill pay extra if I have to for a different...
Read moreOur 5 yr son has been begging to go into a skyscraper for months, we were very happy to to check prices and see that somehow this place was slightly more than our usual type of place. The booking part was a bit confusing but we managed. We were able to select a higher floor. When we arrived here my husband checked us in and was happy to see we got floor 17 he told the check in employee about our only reason for staying and the awesome employee changed our floor to 33 with amazing views. Parking was a stressful thought for us we ended paying for their self parking which is pricey for one night. Walking into the building was very wonderful and shocking to us, so large and clean and the tiles so shiny. Just speechless on our view, beyond what I expected The creature of ours ate his dinner on the ledge and stared out the windows for the longest time. The pool was advertised as having views but it doesn't, the pool could be warmer. The outdoor was outside again no views to be had I recommend hitting the hot tub well before 7pm, that's when it got busy in their. Back to my main part. The rooms are very nice everything was cleaned, the room came with great amenities, you'll find a complimentary bottle of water as well. The pillows are perfect, the bed was comfortable (better than what we are used to at other places) My only "complaints" are the lack of ventilation fan in the bathroom, not pleasant when your partner has um......yeah and the other would be the mini refrigerator was not cold and no easy way to adjust the temperature. Oh forgot to mention earlier, the noise is non-existent unless you open the window, can't even hear people walking down the hall or walking above us. I didn't hear my family approaching the room, no noise until they opened the door. I'm beyond grateful for this opportunity and hope one-day we will get lucky enough to stay here again. Thank you to the employee working the check in desk at 4pm 1-2-24, who made our experience way better...
