I'm hesitant to write this review, because The Nest Nail Spa - DTC is my go-to, and I don't necessarily want to let that cat out of the bag. I recently went for my fourth or fifth visit, and you simply cannot go wrong with this place. Each and every one of their techs is amazing - friendly, professional and meticulous - so never worry about who your appointment is with. They never rush you, even if you're the last appointment of the day, they always pamper you, and you will feel good when you walk out of there. Their prices are extremely reasonable and the CND shellac is very gentle on your nails, from my experience, and can last up to three weeks. Quite simply it's the best place in town for a mani/pedi.

Walking out the door, I would have 100% given 5 stars as my manicure and pedicure experiences were very positive (great technician and products). Unfortunately, two days later two of my nails chipped and two more chipped the next day (the polish feels thicker than normal). I have never had this experience with gel manicures before and I sent an email to the business letting them know about my experience. The owner promptly responded and said to come in and they would fix the chipped nails at no cost. The business then became unresponsive to my email and phone calls to schedule. When I eventually reached someone on the phone, trying to come up with a solution became more of a hassle than I have time for.

My 4y.old asked for painted nails one day, but she chews on them badly, so I promised her a manicure if she stopped. She was a champion and stopped chewing cold turkey and the experience of getting a manicure here did not dissapoint. She was so excited, got to pick out 3 super fun colors and was treated like a princess. I did bring some books to read to her which turned out to be a great idea, so she wouldn't get to impatient. The nails are really holding up too and she is showing them off to everyone. Much nicer than trying to do it at home and having to ask her to sit still a million times and all for a very reasonable $20.20 plus tip. Thank you Nest!

Went there for my wedding mani and pedi. Mani was just good, she did clean work without getting on the cuticles which were positive but with definite issues, lasted 5 days without lifting or chips, my pedicure was great an . Lean but very basic and was done by a separate tech. I booked nail art for two nails anda nd the overall mani was not great....it cost $150 after tip for all 3 services. The tech I booked the nail art with couldn't perform a pretty simple and abstract (room for lots of error and interpretation) design of a flower that took 15min without any end result and I said I don't need this specific flower just do what you can, she couldn't do it which is fine if any nail art could be performed then she said let me see who is available and can and it became an issue because no one could do ANY flower free hand. I said just do whatever flower u can do I just want it to look nice and then I ended up with a nail stamp flower and a 2 gems that fell off 2 hrs later....I literally can do better quality gels at home with a nail stamp and it'll last longer...they also had to clean the design and removed a portion of it as a final result because it wasn't scrapped clean around the design before the stamp was used on the template. I also had significant bumps and a gash in a thumb polish from poor application. Not pleased. I wont be returning for $150, 2 hrs of time and a mediocre job. It sucked that the website allows you to book nail art with inexperienced techs too. The nail art pictured online is done by maybe one or two nail technicians there, make sure you call and ask in advance if you have anything even intermediate...

While I really loved my experience with the nail tech, and the quality of my nails/ nail art, I’ve found interacting with the reception to be unpleasant.

I originally booked a shellac manicure and a regular pedicure. When I arrived, I asked if their salon offered nail art. While I hadn’t booked that service (I didn’t realize that was necessary, but I understand), they confirmed my request was simple so they could accommodate it. The nail art took longer than expected and I was told there wouldn’t be time for my pedicure. I was perfectly okay with that knowing it was a last minute request on my part and I appreciate that the tech took her time.

When I went to check out, the receptionist told me that they would waive the cancellation fee that I would’ve incurred for “canceling”my pedicure. Huh?? 😀 I was really confused why I would be charged a cancelation fee if I was initially told all services could be accommodated, then told last minute that wouldn’t be the case.

Since I didn’t have time for my pedicure that day, I asked if I could be seen the next day for a pedicure. The woman booked my appointment in person.

When I arrived the next day, a different woman told me there wasn’t an appointment booked for me and no techs were available. And that was it. She didn’t even offer to rebook me. Like?? 😀

In both cases, the front of house staff were beyond unapproachable, just shy of rude, and not keen on...

When I arrived I was less than impressed by how I was treated & the attitude the owner had when she asked if I had shellac on already & I said yes. She made it sound like I was an inconvenience because I hadn’t booked a removal - this was my first visit so I wasn’t aware that needed to be booked also but they made time for it. Maybe the front desk should be calling new customers before their visit to be sure it’s booked correctly. The lady who did my nails greeted me by saying “you’re already causing trouble!” funny, sure but not professional having never been to the spa before. To remove my old shellac, get a “manicure” & have new shellac put on took over an hour. I watched many people come after me & leave before me. I don’t mind waiting if the nails looked good but unfortunately one of my nails was bumpy & streaky & they looked less than professional. Less than a week later, 3 of my nails had chipped & they started turning green (they were supposed to be light blue). I wanted to love this spa as it’s very convenient for me but with this being my first experience, I will not...
