Spirit of Detroit Plaza — Attraction in Detroit

This area is awful for the people who actually live in Detroit and use Woodward for transportation and not sight seeing. I’m extremely disappointed that so many streets including a state highway (Woodward) have been blocked because of an attempt to attract tourists? Suburbanites? We have Hart Plaza and Campus Martius. There’s the riverwalk and adjacent areas. That’s a lot for a city that’s only walkable 6-8 months out of the year. I'm usually riding my bike around and pass the Spirit Park.... on this day I attended the Container Take Over.. it was a beautiful experience local vendors were there Detroit Artists came out and performed the people here are amazing friendly so you saw Only Smiles...... I had the time of my life. Mr Smooth was teaching us how to ballroom, line dance and do a few fancy steps in between. They're in the heart of downtown @ Mayor Coleman Young bldg, which was the old city county bldg. Spirit of Detroit statue is on the side, facing the street where we assembled.
