Michaels — Local services in Dr. Phillips

Never have I been treated like a common criminal for wanting to use a coupon from Michaels at Dr. Phillips in Orlando. Today Michaels lost a loyal customer thanks to a cashier and ERIN (who claimed to be the acting store manager) Michaels bombards you with coupons . My neighborhood store ALWAYS allows me to use 2 if I happen to have one from my Sunday paper like I did today and another from the emails they deliver and clog up my mail. But today I was near the Dr. Phillips location and I was spending a little over $100. The very rude cashier said I would have to come back the next day to use the 2nd coupon. I explained that I got one this morning in me email and the other today in my Sunday paper. It was just a savings of $6 out of $135. He called the "acting" manager ERIN who promptly read the fine print to me…now people are listening to us and lining up behind us. She also told me that even though people honor more than one that "technically" that are not supposed to and that SHE COULD BUT SHE CHOOSES NOT TO BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T WANT TO. I told her I have been shopping at Michaels for many many years and never had people talk to me this way and all for $6. Hobby Lobby - you look worth the drive to me now and I will not be returning to Michaels anymore. The cashier was so mad at me for having the nerve to question him that he started slaming things around and started yelling at me. What a shame. Always been happy shopping there and giving them my money...

This location is tucked inside of another shopping area. They do have a large parking lot, however, everything is a little bit of a funky layout so be sure to pay attention to where you're going. When you get inside they do have carts over to the left hand side of the entry.

The store itself is clean and well-kept. There were some things in random areas, but that's probably due to customers putting things back in the wrong area. The biggest issue here is the cash register area. They have not updated it so that it's one line for all the registers. They still have the old fashioned way of doing it where every register is step. There was a person who is returning items and this caused the line to back up to about 10 people deep. With only one cashier. They did bring up another cashier but it really didn't help move things along very quickly.

The store itself looks like it's a little bit dated as well. I think the whole thing could probably just use a facelift and a bit of a modernization to match its sister stores in the area and it would do just fine.

I've never been inside of this michaels before as it's not the store that is the closest to me so I don't have a review for in store details. I had to place a pick up order at this location for an item not available at my local store as well as I have also placed a same day delivery order from this location. Both went pleasantly well. For my pick up order, they have designated spots that you can drive up to for curbside pick up. I didn't wait too long to pick up my order outside. For same day delivery, I placed an order maybe around 10:58am and about 15-20 minutes went by and my order was getting packed for delivery already. Then shortly after, it was already being picked up by a driver. I was very impressed by the same day delivery because I placed an order and it was delivered within an hour. I did not expect that.
