As many others have said, the view is wonderful and was the main reason I wanted to stay at the hotel. The name Radisson used to mean something but now it's a worn out dive.
But back to the restaurant. I had in my mind the fine dining experience of the past, but wow was I in for a shock. I know my experience was influenced by my expectation for white shirts, black vests, matching slacks, bow ties, and a towel draped over the arm wait staff only to be met with a cafe style sports bar, so I tried to find positives. There weren't any.
To begin with, my dining partner, Mom, and I were brought in and seated at a table close enough to a party a party of 8 that it looked like we were an overflow table, even though the entire place seemed empty with plenty of other options.
Next, the menu is extremely limited. I thought about the steak but went with the fish, thinking I didn't trust the place for some reason and how could you screw up a corn chip deep fried walleye. It was. I've never experienced this before so it's difficult to describe but it was soggy, almost drippy on the inside despite being crisp on the outside. Proved difficult to eat.
As you gaze out the window, your eyes eventually drift down and if you are next to the window you see a disgusting display of dirt and old dried up food (including ketchup} on the turning and stationary floor.
As to the atmosphere, it would be far greater but the distraction of everything else ruined it. As to the 50s style cafe, it was list on me.
My criticisms echo many other reviewers and the "Owner" thanks them for their feedback requesting further input via email but as far as I can tell the concerns of 11 months ago have not been addressed. Therefore, I didn't write this in hopes of anything changing, rather I just want to warn others. Don't go.
I will never visit here again and suggest that if others do that it be conducted as a staff training restauranteurs could employ as an example of how not to run a business. It just seems to lack professionalism and pride of ownership." It's a shame. This used to be a classy...
Read moreWe came here for my friend's birthday party; we have been wanting to come here for a while, always hearing about the rotating restaurant I'm Duluth but never really making time for it.
The views are fantastic. As the restaurant slowly rotates, you get a full view of the city - the harbor, the hills, everything. Amazing. We were particularly fascinated by all the insect life on the windows, so many spiders! So high up...
The staff were also quite wonderful, very polite and attentive. Our server was so nice, frequently checking in on us and going the extra mile to take photos for the birthday, offer suggestions, etc... Wonderful human being. That said, I feel like he could use a few more people working with him. I got the feeling that staffing was not at ideal capacity... Maybe a management improvement opportunity?
The food was okay. The salad was quite literally a piece of unprocessed lettuce with a few garnishes, though the steak that she ordered as an add-on was prepared perfectly.
I had the veggie/black bean burger, which was a pretty standard black bean patty with the typical fixings. Fries were okay, not bad but nothing to really write home about, you know.
It was the same for Sky, who got a Bleu and Bacon burger; pretty good, not great.
We all ordered the dips to share, and while we really enjoy the dips themselves, the veggies were an odd choice: a mix of steamed (yet chilled?) cauliflower, carrots, and broccoli, a few pieces of bread, and (admittedly delightful) brussel sprouts.
One note on the food - everything (other than maybe the salad) was arranged beautifully, the presentation of the burgers and the dips was Insta-worthy, so someone put some time into making them look great.
Overall, worth the visit, though the quality of the food could be stepped up to really make this place shine. Staff...
Read moreFood was good. Service was ok but not the servers fault. They have this QR code ordering, which I'm familiar with, but this one needs work. It was my husband and I for breakfast, so I scanned the QR code and placed the order for us. First thing I noticed was, there was no description of any of the options. "Classic breakfast".. ok.. what's that? You have to click into each item to see what's included. You shouldn't have to click into each thing. It's not convenient. Second thing I noticed, there is no way to separate meals. There should be a seat 1, seat 2, option. Also, it was hard to find the drinks. Get rid of "popular items" and just clean it up. Lastly, with just 1 person on staff for the dining room, its difficult to get the attention of the waitress, especially given the configuration of the space. There needs to be a "call staff" or "request assistance" option on the site that notify the server you need something. Bonus points if you can find a way to type in what you need. Overall, this place is a must see. The views are awesome. The first time we came here, it was jj's astro lounge which was a little more fine dining. Harbor 360 is a bit more laid back. I miss jj's but this is a nice place to visit too. And more affordable. Though, the place seems to be.. idk. Like someone has been slacking on maintenance. There was a spot where the ceiling was falling apart, so the took thumb tacks and pinned a piece of fabric up to catch the falling pieces... come one.. The music was nice in the restaurant. It would have been nicer had it not been drowned out by the awful music blasting in...
