My washing machine jammed when a cord on a mesh bag got stuck under the agitator. So I decided not to cut the cord on the chance that the machine wouldn't work properly and I opted to call a repair company instead. I found a few listings in the Community Directory for Appliance Repair. The first place I called said he wouldn't be out to the Palm Harbor area until next week. The 2nd place I called wanted $89 just to show up to the house and couldn't come out until tomorrow. Then I called Family Appliance, in Dunedin, and spoke to Kenny - the show up fee was far more reasonable and he could come out this morning to fix my machine. Minutes after Kenny arrived, he had dislodged the cord. Then he stabilized the machine (it moved during washing), tested the cycles, and everything checked out ok. All totaled the repair cost was less than the "show up fee" for the other service and I am a very happy customer! Kenny is a very "down to earth" and courteous young man who knows what he is doing! He explained everything to me, went right to work and fixed my machine! I highly recommend Family Appliance Sales and Service for repairs, and when I need a new or refurbished appliance, I will go...
Read moreI received absolutely incredible service from this family run business! We needed an inexpensive washer and dryer in our new home we are renting. I called them on a Saturday and arrived 15 min before closing. They stayed late to work within my budget, delivered on Monday morning (and called me first to confirm delivery time) and even installed both appliances for a ridiculously reasonable cost. In fact, when the outlet for the dryer was incorrect, he switched out the plug for me on the spot to make it work for free. All their appliances come with a 90 day guarantee, and so far I have had no problems at all! I would buy other appliances from them without hesitation- this is the way small business...
Read moreI'm a snowbird that returned from up north. I turned the refrigerator on and it ran for a few minutes and quit. Nothing but a light inside working. I took a guess that it might be the capacitor our the relay that went bad. I took my parts to Family Appliance and he said it might have just hit a defrost cycle. He explained the defrost cycle runs on a timer and not demand. So I took my parts back home and put it back together, plugged it in and let it sit there. Sure enough, it started running after about 10 minutes. Family appliance could have easily sold me $70 in parts and I wouldn't have known and difference. The man has integrity and I am happy to write this...
