East Meets West - Menlo Park Mall — Attraction in Edison

Went in with my sister who’s really into crystals and according to her they have a decent variety of inexpensive crystals. The store feels extremely cluttered imo. Anyways, I noticed a guy that seemed to be starting at us while we were reading and picking out crystals that seems suitable for us. Not sure if he worked there but his body language gave off a weird vibe. I pretended to pay him no mind but it was extremely uncomfortable. I ended up not buying everything that I liked for that reason. During check out the cashier wasn’t really nice forgot to add a crystal to the bag, but was ok about adding it when it was pointed out. I would never go there again, based on my experience today. Plenty of places with better customer services and don’t make me feel like I’m being watched. Why would anyone who’s buying crystals & trying to vibrate on a higher level steal them....

This is a beautiful store, with a very friendly/down to earth staff, and a peaceful vibe. The wonderful smell of candles and incense will immediately relax you. They sell clothes, jewelry, oils, beads, healing crystals and so much more. I purchased a lucky eye bracelet here and some lavender oil on my last visit. Today, I came in for a reiki/chakra healing & tarot card reading. Alexandra was very kind and compassionate. The appointment can be from 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes ( $25 - $75 ). They'll ask you to fill out a form & sign a waiver, before going in the back room. Absolutely horrifying-- the store is basically selling culturally insensitive products and obfuscating a bunch of different East Asian, Southeast Asian, Native American, and other marginalized cultures with one another. It is revolting to see people from a dominant culture exploit the religious, spiritual, or cultural significance of different groups-- the store is selling bodhisattva statues, headdresses displayed on mannequins with geisha makeup, dreamcatchers, incense, etc. as if they were random knick-knacks.
